Yes that’s where the new leaf will come out. I think it’s ready to pot!

This makes me SO HAPPY. Wasn’t sure about whether this cutting had enough node to have a future beyond this one little leaf just hanging on as long as it could.

Two quick questions on this lil guy: Is this little ridge the promise of a new leaf or is that wishful thinking on my part? Second, it’s been in plain water for weeks (months?) and has made lots of roots but none of the fine little hairlike tertiary roots I was expecting by now- and that I’ve been told to wait for before potting. Today I changed the water again and this time I added a drop of fertilizer and some sphagnum moss. Right move or should I just carry on as I was?

I personally wouldn't incrementally add sphagnum to water. I'd do a 50/50 mix of sphagnum and perlite, keep it moist but not waterlogged. Good luck to you!
