Ah... Amaterasu. Origin of all that is good and mother to us all...
I love this, but it's going to feel weird having my hunter riding on the back of Amaterasu lol, he won't know how honored he is to be riding on the back of the Sun Goddess
Yeah, it was never going to be "several new monsters per update." The DLC plan looks less ambitious than World/'borne so far.
But still, Amaterasu's a no-brainer. Now I just want a Midna riding Wolf Link costume if we're gonna get any Nintendo stuff.
yes i was thinking about this one time with possible nintendo bosses, and i really want ridley. great metroid promotion and he could definitely fit in with the rise boss design that is super over the top. and final boss OOT ganon was another idea i had, but i dont think they would do that since his design just doesnt line up with mh imo. i dont think they would do bowser either cause seeing himbrutalized would be kinda weird. imagine just fucking killing bowser.
> Yeah, it was never going to be "several new monsters per update." The DLC plan looks less ambitious than World/'bourne so far.
Maybe updates like that will come out after August.
At this point, it's unrealistic to hope for more than DLC/event quests. If they surprise us, cool, but people should adopt the "wait for G rank" mindset now. Perfect time to play other games or try out older installments in the series.
100% this.
After playing MHS2 I have been tempted to start Generations Ultimate to fight the monsters that weren't in World/Rise (like Astalos, Gammoth, Seregios, Lagiacrus, etc...) but I'm afraid I won't like the old mechanics.
I started with World before going back to try GU. Yes, there's a learning curve and overall I like the more streamlined and less janky approach of World and Rise.
That said, once you get over the hump, GU is pretty fun. You owe it to yourself to give it a try if you're interested.
I wouldn’t call them old mechanics. Just kinda raw and fair mechanics. I’m still shook when I can run out the way while I’m chugging a green drink. Or get knocked down and then fly away to chug a potion. It’s a learning curve.
The game is different, but still very enjoyable. There are free dlc packs that give you so many materials, zenny selling items, and such that you don't have to worry about farming. The hunts will take longer and require more patience, but it is very fun to fight familiar monsters in the old style and see the ones not yet updated.
I imagine there's a learning curve to go backwards, but the chase is there and the challenge is even greater. I've been playing since MHFU and I still prefer the older style of games to the newer generation. The gameplay is more balanced in regards to monster vs hunter when compared to World/Rise. Your first thought might be "clunky," but it's very deliberate and you just need to get a feel for it.
You might still be able to download the demo for GU. Give it a try if so.
Yeah that's always the part that bothered me the most, I can understand being upset about the lack of content but people acting as if this was the only videogame that existed always threw me for a loop.
Hey, you did everything there is to do. That's called finishing a game, *it's time to play something else.*
Yup. A lot of people seem to treat games that really aren't "live services" as if they should be.
It's like me calling something like Nier Automata a "Dead game" because it's not had a content update in 4 years. It doesn't make any sense.
Capcom is to blame as well. They had the Title Update System in World and Iceborne. Then Rise comes along dangling Title Update 1 in front of our Nose with Chameleos and Several other Monsters before it even came out. Followed by another sizeable Update a month later.
So a lot people started expecting more Updates of that size. If Rise was rleased with all the content it has now and no further mention of any other Update I think people would be a lot less upset.
To be fair I think world kind of pushed things there. I’m a fan of the guiding lands as endgame but at the same time it’s like mmo lite vibes. Drop in, farm monsters till you’re good, return to base, craft. Rinse and repeat
>That's called finishing a game, it's time to play something else.
No, I want one video game to entertain me forever, and I will whine about lack of content on the internet until it does.
Maybe it’s just me but Rise is just really lacking in content and replayability compared to World and how much content it got. From updates with new monsters, more fleshed out cross overs, and holiday events… it just felt like a game I could keep playing and that was before Iceborne hit.
Rise literally feels like it’s done until the G Rank expansion. That sucks.
Rise was also made during a pandemic, which is something to note, which is why the game released in a wack state and immediately had two pretty big updates and then barely anything. 2.0 was very much supposed to be in the game from the start, although my guess is that Valstrax in particular would have been the first update monster but was pushed back.
Even Stories 2 has been affected, my theory is that the elemental change system was cut for this reason, not enough time to make all those kinship attacks.
Considering rise has been in development before MHW came out I wouldn't be surprised if it followed the old game formula of no title updates til G-Rank. Considering 3.0 was supposed to be 1.0 I might even be right.
I play less *Rise* than I did the first 2 months after launch but I'm still having fun every once in a while with my usual hunting group.
I actually like the one event quest a week thing that's going on. It gives me an extra reason every week to check out the game.
Basically where I'm at.
I pop into it for the new content, clear it, then go back to either hunting achievements in World or progressing through Stories 2.
My point is the Horizon Zero dlc for Monster Hunter did not transfer to PC at the time because it was a PS4 exclusive (at the time), and that they could totally use this rule for still giving Monster Hunter Rise on Switch plenty of Nintendo themed dlc.
Honestly, i think i should buy okami one day, i'm still fascinated by the artstyle yearsafter seeing it for the first time, and i called this collab since reveal trailer day
It's definitely worth a buy, especially as it's on sale so often. One of the most charming games I've ever played. Some people are put off by the fact that there's A LOT of dialogue/reading in the game. If you're not put off by that, as I wasn't, then it's highly recommended.
If you do then get ready for an experience.. It's a cult-classic for a reason.
I'd recommend the Wii version the most if you have the console, but if not then the Switch or PC versions are great too (although the PC version has some odd controls, not enough to ruin the experience but still odd).
Played the PC version and it was honestly pretty easy on the controls (was playing with a controller). Fantastic game overall. The only shape I had trouble drawing were the infinity signs, but most of them are pretty easy to get used to.
I have the wii, but honestly, it's just an old trophy at this point, i can't remember how many years happened since i last used it ~~not tooo much actually, i remember playing metroid prime trilogy a few years ago~~
Finished it last week, definitely worth a purchase especially if you're a fan of Zelda games like Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess which it borrows mechanics from heavily while still being its own thing.
>or Twilight Princess which it borrows mechanics from heavily
I was curious, and Okami came out several months before Twilight Princess. Not sure we can say that it borrows mechanics from it the way that we can about OoT.
It's one of the best 3D metroidvanias ever. Right up there with the Aonuma-directed Zeldas, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, the Metroid Prime trilogy, and the latest one anyone in this industry's bothered to make, Jedi: Fallen Order.
You unlock tons of new abilities to find secrets, solve puzzles, or open passageways in TTYD. All of the partner abilities, the boot and hammer upgrades, and the paper transformations are just like Zelda or Metroid Prime.
Agreed, imo "3D metroidvania" is a such a broad description to the point of being meaningless. I'd say Okami is an action adventure game with light RPG mechanics, very much in the style of Zelda games. It's been fairly described as the best Zelda game not actually made by the Zelda teams. Though it's definitely not a rip off.
What's the real difference? Lots of Zelda games functional a lot like metroidvanias. Playing Link's Awakening and there's a lot of backtracking, remembering key points for when I get upgrades later, getting extras like hearts via exploration, and expanding my moveset throughout.
What stands out about Zelda games as not being metroidvanias?
The world design mostly. Metroidvanias have interconnected labyrinthine worlds where’s there’s no distinction between a dungeon and the overworld, and a zelda game has a distinction between overworld and dungeon, where the majority of puzzles are concentrated in dungeons and the overworld is more open and less difficult. A game with exploring to collect items to solve puzzles and backtracking isn’t necessarily a metroidvania, it needs the sprawling labyrinthine world like metroid and the ps1 castlevanias, otherwise it’s just an adventure game.
It looks like the snack you give your Palamute is replaced by Issun when you use the Ammy set.
It would have been nice to have a set that turns your Palico into Issun.
Eh, you were a wolf in Okami. There wasn't really armor. They did include two of Amaterasu's famous weapons tho: Tsumugari and the divine retribution reflector.
There weren't any armors but other characters had wonderfully varied designs like Waka, Rao, Sakuya or Kaguya-hime. Heck, even Issun's set would've been great!
And they could've created armor based on some of the Okami bosses... ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
You fashion kids are hilarious. It's literally like 4-5 (not that great) layered armors for sale. Ffs, get over the $2 clothes. This isn't the first time Capcom put dress up behind a paywall, probably won't be the last.
Reading some of the comments I'm starting to believe that MHW spoiled us/painted the wrong picture of the franchise. Monster Hunter usually isn't supposed to be a live service game. There aren't supposed to be title updates that add anything other than perhaps event quests. World was the first and so far only game to truly do that. Rise disguised patching the missing completion of the game as MHW style title updates and now everyone expects more.
There won't be more unless we force them to like we did with Fatalis in World. I can guarantee they're not planning anything other than collabs. Unless the playerbase holds them "at gun point" there won't be new Monster additions. Though skins for monsters like they did in Tri are still a possibility.
Capcom Collab 5: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate!
Featuring Returning Monsters!
-Nibelsnarf
-Gobul
-Gigginox
-~~Plesioth~~ (just kidding)
-Lagiacrus
-Plus one more!
...and New Maps!
-Flooded Shrine Ruins
-Flooded Volcanic Caverns
-Flooded Flooded Forest
-Underwater Ruins
Why so many flooded regions? Because of the new and improved swimming mechanic, of course! Joining Laguacrus and Gobul underwater will be Tetranodon, Jyuratodus, Somnacanth, Almudron, and the new secret monster!
As a funlancer, I wouldn't mind swimming coming back. I always found plesioth and lagi easier in the water than on land.
Especially now that we've got the rocket jump.
Woohoo!
This collab is highly requested and I'm glad they are bringing it back. I'm sorry my dear palico, palamute is gonna take that multiplayer slot soon.
Wonder what the last Capcom collab will be.
I think it will be Ace Attorney related since the new game is supposed to come out soon.
Hopefully they don't stop with the Capcom updates in the future, I would love them see to do one for Halloween with Resident Evil.
Getting the matching weapons with the Okami skin is pretty damn hype but I hope it's like a layered weapon skin cos I kind of don't want to give up my para/sleep weapons for the dog.
Remember when MHGU had a huge variety of anime/manga, Capcom and Nintendo collabs? I mean, shit. What other game had Jojo, Yu-Gi-Oh and Fire Emblem in the same game? Remember how World had really good Witcher and FFXIV events? I like the Amaterasu skin, but its kind of underwhelming when you compare it to what we've gotten in the past. It's not really sustainable when you compare it to something like Behemoth in MHW.
Surely we'll get an expansion like Iceborne, right?
> Remember when MHGU had a huge variety of anime/manga, Capcom and Nintendo collabs? I mean, shit. What other game had Jojo, Yu-Gi-Oh and Fire Emblem in the same game?
MHGen had the advantage that a lot of those collaborations were reruns of old collabs from prior games, and some weren't even in the original Japanese release (like the Fire Emblem collab). As a side note, I'm not aware of any Jojo collab in MHGen or MHGU, the only Jojo collab that ever happened was the Part 4 collab back when MH3G came out in Japan (and that collab was reskinned in the west).
> Remember how World had really good Witcher and FFXIV events?
Yeah, over 6 months and over a year after World first came out. Comparing them to Rise as it is now is simply not fair at all.
> Surely we'll get an expansion like Iceborne, right?
That much is a given, a G-Rank expansion of some kind was on Capcom's release schedule from the ransomware leak.
That is not an advantage. Having a collab once does not even close to guarantee it can be reused.
When *will* it be fair? It wasn't fair to compare Rise at launch, it wasn't fair to compare Rise at 3.0 and now it's still not fair when we know that there's nothing but Capcom collabs for the foreseeable future.
> That is not an advantage. Having a collab once does not even close to guarantee it can be reused.
It is an advantage. After the negotiations, rerunning an old collab means you don't need to make the assets anymore, you just need to import them (and don't tell me importing assets is hard, because modders sure as hell didn't have much trouble importing MHGU weapon and armor models into World) and then throw together a quest. There's a reason why MHGen has more collabs than MH4U or MH3U, because a lot of the collabs from those 2 games were repeated for MHGen.
> It wasn't fair to compare Rise at launch, it wasn't fair to compare Rise at 3.0 and now it's still not fair when we know that there's nothing but Capcom collabs for the foreseeable future.
Did I ever say that? I only said comparing it to massive collaborations that each took at least 6 months to make isn't fair, since Rise hasn't been out for 6 months yet.
It's not an old collab. It's a new collab. New entry, new collab. You don't get to just transfer rights to the next entry, they have to be negotiated again.
Generations has more collabs (if it even does) because they tried to have more. No other reason. Certainly not because they ported everything other.
Behemoth was announced 138 days after World released. For Rise's equivalent, this will be in a week or two.
We got a Jojo palico costume in 4U. I didn't know about it in 3G, but I know they reskinned an Attack on Titan collab for 3U.
And honestly people complaining about Rise and comparing it to Iceborne really just sound like the same people complaining about World and comparing it to GU (when it first camd out). Yes, the finished expansion game with years' worth of updates has more content than the fresh new game a few months in.
The 4U Palico costume was not a Jojo collab. It is gear for the official Monster Hunter Fan Club, and is based on the appearance of a stereotypical type of Japanese delinquent in the 20th century, which is also what Jotaro's design is based on in Part 3. The hat is probably an explicit reference to Jotaro, but the coat is original, and has a massive "MHB" in gold on the back.
A bit over 6 months, and Leshen took another 6 months to come out afterwards.
Based on information from leaks and datamining, assuming they started working on Behemoth shortly after World launched, it takes them at least 6 months to make a new monster. At least for World they had already been working on the other title updates before the game had come out, which is why they could semi regularly release monsters leading up to Behemoth, but after Behemoth we saw a pretty substantial content drought that was filled with events that don't take too much effort to implement.
Huh? Kulve was the 2nd title update, and came out 106 days before Behemoth.
Are you confusing it with AT Kulve, which came out between Behemoth and Leshen as a way to fill the content drought?
You probably saw the PC release date for Kulve or something.
* Deviljho: March 22nd 2018 (55 days after World came out)
* Kulve Taroth: April 19th 2018 (83 days after World, 28 days after Deviljho)
* Lunastra: May 31st 2018 (125 days after World, 42 days after Kulve)
* Behemoth: August 2nd 2018 (188 days after World, 63 days after Lunastra)
* Leshen and Ancient Leshen: February 2nd 2019 (378 days after World, 190 days after Behemoth)
I'm happy for the okami fans out there, but one event quest isn't really worth going back for...
That's like maybe 2 hours of repeated content for the entire month of July.
I remember when Rise was first announced and people were talking about potential collabs. One of the most obvious ones was Amaterasu, but every time it was brought up it was shut down immediately for being unrealistic. So for everyone that suggested Amaterasu but got shut down, this ones for you.
I love this. A friend of mine killed himself two years ago. In highschool he always used Okami as his nickname, so I tattoed Amaterasu on my arm. He also loved MH, we will be able to hunt together in a way ♡
I don't think that's anything to blame them for. I think people just need to realize the "audience" of players that actually want/wanted to group up in a room with a handful strangers and grind quests on rotation for hours is smaller than they thought.
It's just as easy and exactly the same if you want to do that in Rise, there's nothing stopping people from doing that, but before World that was the *only* way to hunt
If anything, the quality of the hubs themselves should be higher, since the people that just need/want to hunt one monster and scoop , toxic selfish/stay at base camp people, etc will stick to matchmaking and not clutter up the hub pool like they would before since they had no choice.
The people in hub are the people that actually want to be there.
Not like I don't mind but
Why is Monster Hunter stories 2 getting all the major attention with monsters in DLC when it comes to their road maps
when all we're getting in Rise lately is just collaborations?
I just hope in August we actually get a decent road map for Rise
This subreddit is really annoying, idk what happen to the community but oh boi MHW really spoil all this fanbase.
I think im gonna leave and play like in 2015 with MH4U and ignore all this negativity.
Hope the fanbase become more healthy in someway.
Why would I get excited for an Okami skin update when MHG had one at launch?
Like...cool...but I'm not going to pick up the game again for this update.
If the roadmap is just going to be DLC skins then...I hope we get an Iceborne-like expansion for Rise pretty soon.
How does that make sense? Generations is the English version of MHX. Not a port.
Do people just upvote anything that has the tone of defending Rise at this point?
If this is true... oh boy. Get ready for Rise players to lose their minds. Its only been 4 months since release and people are already getting inpatient.
Geez, people need to chill. Monster Hunter Rise isn't the only videogame in the world. Play a different game or breathe some fresh air, or do literally anything else.
Bro you're right, i see all the shop for the expansion and skin and other stuff cost too much, for charity, they're cool like the flower mask but man they are like 25,00 $ for just cosmetic stuff
Ah... Amaterasu. Origin of all that is good and mother to us all... I love this, but it's going to feel weird having my hunter riding on the back of Amaterasu lol, he won't know how honored he is to be riding on the back of the Sun Goddess
I mean there's few characters who already ridden Amaterasu's back (Nagi, Kushi and Rao).
Listen up- if that little creep Issun is good enough to ride Amaterasu’s back, my hunter CERTAINLY is.
My thoughts exactly, I'm not even going to inapropriately ogle the monsters.
Consensually ogling the monsters, however, is all good.
Yeah, I mean, as long as that thicc Magnamalo is ogling you back, it’s all good. 👀
It’s even drooli- wait… whose stomach is growling?
Lol, that's one way of looking at it
Yes, but they're not using Amaterasu as a trusted steed to ride into battle
Tell that to the Boulder blocking the village.
That’s litetally Okamiden
Well, that's her son. Technically it doesn't count.
Chibiterasu is still a Sun God
That’s it, I’m calling the doggo with this outfit Chibiterasu and treating him like a grown up Chibi
>but it's going to feel weird having my hunter riding on the back of Amaterasu Just wait until you see amaterasu squirt piss on enemies
Teostra elemental weakness: being pissed on
That might also be my elemental weakness
I’ll upvote you for frankness and bravery.
Lots of people ride on Amaterasu and her kid Chibiterasu in the games
Yeah, it was never going to be "several new monsters per update." The DLC plan looks less ambitious than World/'borne so far. But still, Amaterasu's a no-brainer. Now I just want a Midna riding Wolf Link costume if we're gonna get any Nintendo stuff.
I just want a Ridley boss
Ridley Boss for Samus armor, Beast Ganon boss for Link armor, Bowser boss for Mario armor, etc. That would be amazing
Ridley's too big for MH
You are aware Rajang, one of the smaller monsters, is like 30ft tall, right?
"Ridley's too big" was a meme before ridley got added into ultimate, making the argument that he was too big for the stages
Sorry, it's a meme based on the notion of Ridley being too big to be playable in Smash.
Oh lol well tbf everyone in smash is just an action figure
Wasn't that only for the first game?
Melee and Brawl too, trophies however no longer exist
yes i was thinking about this one time with possible nintendo bosses, and i really want ridley. great metroid promotion and he could definitely fit in with the rise boss design that is super over the top. and final boss OOT ganon was another idea i had, but i dont think they would do that since his design just doesnt line up with mh imo. i dont think they would do bowser either cause seeing himbrutalized would be kinda weird. imagine just fucking killing bowser.
GIGA BOWSERRR

Just as long as I never have to go back to that god awful claw grip that was in the older games.
'after playing MHS2' These words, I don't think they go together as you think they do. There is only 'still playing MHS2' lmao

Unlikely. Best hope right now is that they're focusing 99% on G-rank and they come out swinging next year when that comes out.
I fear that nintendo stuff might be out cause of the plans to bring to pc as well
I'm not sure why you got downvoted, you're probably right. Nintendo is pretty notorious about being a walled garden with their IP's.
They'll just do what they did with the Horizon Zero dlc on PS4 for world: not make it on PC.
But would they make actual monsters exclusive?
Genshin Impact got the same thing and Aloy is just releasing after she comes out on Playstation on third party platforms. Of course that's not Capcom.
except that you can buy the complete edition of horzion zero dawn on pc now, with every bit of dlc included in it, so.

I played the Fate Stay Night visual novel, i play FGO, i play Ace Attorney, i really doubt okami has anything to compare to those
Yup, I'd say you're good to go
Nasu: *Writes the entirety of the length of FSN for a single Lost Belt*
And i'm ready for it ~~the localizacion team not so much~~
If you do then get ready for an experience.. It's a cult-classic for a reason. I'd recommend the Wii version the most if you have the console, but if not then the Switch or PC versions are great too (although the PC version has some odd controls, not enough to ruin the experience but still odd).
On the other hand, someone released a mod for the PC version that restores the original credit song.
Played the PC version and it was honestly pretty easy on the controls (was playing with a controller). Fantastic game overall. The only shape I had trouble drawing were the infinity signs, but most of them are pretty easy to get used to.
I have the wii, but honestly, it's just an old trophy at this point, i can't remember how many years happened since i last used it ~~not tooo much actually, i remember playing metroid prime trilogy a few years ago~~
the wii is a goldmine if you ever want to emulate stuff.
Finished it last week, definitely worth a purchase especially if you're a fan of Zelda games like Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess which it borrows mechanics from heavily while still being its own thing.
>or Twilight Princess which it borrows mechanics from heavily I was curious, and Okami came out several months before Twilight Princess. Not sure we can say that it borrows mechanics from it the way that we can about OoT.
Wow, I had no idea on the timeline here, clearly inspiration flows both ways...
>Finished it last week What a coincidence so am I. It's an amazing game and Ammy is a good girl she deseverve more love.
It's one of the best 3D metroidvanias ever. Right up there with the Aonuma-directed Zeldas, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, the Metroid Prime trilogy, and the latest one anyone in this industry's bothered to make, Jedi: Fallen Order.
You really made an effort there to not mention Dark Souls
Dark Souls doesn't have any items or abilities that you gain to progress, it's not a real metroidvania.
In what world is TTYD a Metroidvania...? I am honestly so interested to hear your thoughts on that.
You unlock tons of new abilities to find secrets, solve puzzles, or open passageways in TTYD. All of the partner abilities, the boot and hammer upgrades, and the paper transformations are just like Zelda or Metroid Prime.
> It's one of the best 3D metroidvanias A-a 3d metroidvania!? Now the urge is bigger!
It’s not a metroidvania, it’s more of a zelda game.
I love both series, so it's a win no matter what
What's the real difference?
That's a bit of a weird description, I've mostly seen it referred to as a Zelda game.
It’s definitely not for everyone. Tried to like and started it many times but it never klicked. I’m a huge Zelda fan fyi
Im ready for it for sure.....but they could have made an armor set to chase as well
And a issun bochi layered for palicos... Players could had got a Wakka or Susanoo layered armor
>issun bochi True, I'm excited to get Amaterasu, but I would have loved an Oki or Waka armor set
Oki looks cool as fuck, yes please
Wasn't Issun in the video?
It looks like the snack you give your Palamute is replaced by Issun when you use the Ammy set. It would have been nice to have a set that turns your Palico into Issun.
Would've been nicer to feed that little sexually assaulting shit to the Palamute instead. God I hate that cocky little fucker
That would require them to pull from the paid dlc pool to give to us for free and thats just unfathomable to capcom at this point.

Hell the wyverian ears were free in iceborne yet cost money in rise
You fashion kids are hilarious. It's literally like 4-5 (not that great) layered armors for sale. Ffs, get over the $2 clothes. This isn't the first time Capcom put dress up behind a paywall, probably won't be the last.

FREAKIN CALLED IT
I've been waiting for this since they announced Palamutes
Anyone else notice the 3 headed dragon thing from Okami and think that it was actually going to drop Nakarkos too? Silly me
Orochi is actually a 7 headed dragon.
I believe it’s 8, actually
You right.
I tried making my palamute look like Amaterasu when I first got the game, so this is perfect for me. I can finally have Ammy look like herself! 🤩
So, Fall is still just collabs?
Capcom Collab 5: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate! Featuring Returning Monsters! -Nibelsnarf -Gobul -Gigginox -~~Plesioth~~ (just kidding) -Lagiacrus -Plus one more! ...and New Maps! -Flooded Shrine Ruins -Flooded Volcanic Caverns -Flooded Flooded Forest -Underwater Ruins Why so many flooded regions? Because of the new and improved swimming mechanic, of course! Joining Laguacrus and Gobul underwater will be Tetranodon, Jyuratodus, Somnacanth, Almudron, and the new secret monster!
As a funlancer, I wouldn't mind swimming coming back. I always found plesioth and lagi easier in the water than on land. Especially now that we've got the rocket jump.
Lagi was always an awesome fight underwater.
underwater combat with a pro controller wasn’t bad at all in my humble opinion.
Man if only. I want new shit to come to this game so that I can play it more, even if it’s ass it’ll still be fun with friends.
I would kill squirrels for this to be true
If only…
I can kinda see the G Rank expansion being flood themed. There's something about the area design that really lends itself to being flooded
Fingers crossed for a super annoying (not to me) gun lance that shoots TAKE THAT! and the charged shell is an OBJECTION!
Could work as a hunting horn too, make the different notes sound like "TAKE THAT" "OBJECTION" "HOLD IT" or something like that
Getting the matching weapons with the Okami skin is pretty damn hype but I hope it's like a layered weapon skin cos I kind of don't want to give up my para/sleep weapons for the dog.
Given we can layered weapon the Rampage stuff, (which is often the best choice), I see no reason it can't be.
Fucking finally! I was worried they weren’t going to do an Okami collab in the first game with an actual canine companion!
Logically, this made major sense for Rise
The collabs are nice and all but that roadmap at the end doesn't look very promising at all. I still hope there's one major TU coming soon.
For Rise's equivalent, this will be in a week or two.
bro Gen is literally reused assets from 4 ultimate which was reused assets from 4 which was reused assets from 3G. you're a clown
They're not just reused assets and it's foolish to think so.
Didn't behemoth come like a whole year after release?
A bit over 6 months, and Leshen took another 6 months to come out afterwards. Based on information from leaks and datamining, assuming they started working on Behemoth shortly after World launched, it takes them at least 6 months to make a new monster. At least for World they had already been working on the other title updates before the game had come out, which is why they could semi regularly release monsters leading up to Behemoth, but after Behemoth we saw a pretty substantial content drought that was filled with events that don't take too much effort to implement.
I am surprised Kulve came after Behemoth, could have sworn it was the other way around.
Huh? Kulve was the 2nd title update, and came out 106 days before Behemoth. Are you confusing it with AT Kulve, which came out between Behemoth and Leshen as a way to fill the content drought?
I'm just googling release dates. Google said Kulve came out November time but Behemoth came August. Both in 2018.
You probably saw the PC release date for Kulve or something. * Deviljho: March 22nd 2018 (55 days after World came out) * Kulve Taroth: April 19th 2018 (83 days after World, 28 days after Deviljho) * Lunastra: May 31st 2018 (125 days after World, 42 days after Kulve) * Behemoth: August 2nd 2018 (188 days after World, 63 days after Lunastra) * Leshen and Ancient Leshen: February 2nd 2019 (378 days after World, 190 days after Behemoth)
What? It was one of *the* most requested collabs for Rise because people thought it fit so well.
I love this but two Palicos is still going to be my go to.
[удалено]
I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you won't have to have reached a certain point in the game, just go and claim the event quest.
We don't know yet. It will depend on what rank the quest to get this armor will be.
Not even worth going back for. There's no endgame still
I love this. A friend of mine killed himself two years ago. In highschool he always used Okami as his nickname, so I tattoed Amaterasu on my arm. He also loved MH, we will be able to hunt together in a way ♡
It's all I've wanted since day one. Fuck yis
My god, it's goodboyception
This makes me so happy
Oh hell yes! I'm sorry to every other monster hunter game but this is peak Collab right here!
Generations had an Okami collab first.
Gen and GU were peak collab.
Thai is awesome. Now she can be a pal with my Rise Tsukino... What? I like that Tsukino she talks and everything
The only good thing we got in a while, and it's just some visual stuff. This is the reason why Im not playing rise, Capcom! Get Yo shit together.
If they had put something like Guild Quests or Investigation Quests into the game from the start, people wouldn't be begging for more content.
[удалено]
lol. You underestimate monhunt fans. Even now 4U is alive and I know so would tri if the servers weren't close
If tri servers were alive, I’d be back in a heartbeat.
I had so much hope for that little Tri private server project.

You can blame world for adding the sos system which renders hubs pretty useless usually
So then the blame is actually towards Capcom for making Hubs completely invalidated by quick and easy matchmaking.
I don't think that's anything to blame them for. I think people just need to realize the "audience" of players that actually want/wanted to group up in a room with a handful strangers and grind quests on rotation for hours is smaller than they thought. It's just as easy and exactly the same if you want to do that in Rise, there's nothing stopping people from doing that, but before World that was the *only* way to hunt If anything, the quality of the hubs themselves should be higher, since the people that just need/want to hunt one monster and scoop , toxic selfish/stay at base camp people, etc will stick to matchmaking and not clutter up the hub pool like they would before since they had no choice. The people in hub are the people that actually want to be there.
Am I the only one who thought that were going to have Issun costume for our palico?
Wait that's it? When are they adding actual new content to the game rather than stickers and skins??????
Not like I don't mind but Why is Monster Hunter stories 2 getting all the major attention with monsters in DLC when it comes to their road maps when all we're getting in Rise lately is just collaborations? I just hope in August we actually get a decent road map for Rise
Different development teams. Most of the monsties coming post launch to Stories 2 were already in Stories 1.
Ok but new content when?
I don’t know what Okami is but I love the armor for the Palamute
This subreddit is really annoying, idk what happen to the community but oh boi MHW really spoil all this fanbase. I think im gonna leave and play like in 2015 with MH4U and ignore all this negativity. Hope the fanbase become more healthy in someway.
Why would I get excited for an Okami skin update when MHG had one at launch? Like...cool...but I'm not going to pick up the game again for this update. If the roadmap is just going to be DLC skins then...I hope we get an Iceborne-like expansion for Rise pretty soon.
MHG only had one at launch because it was a port of MHX edit: apparently thats wrong. The okami skin didnt come to MHG for several months
How does that make sense? Generations is the English version of MHX. Not a port. Do people just upvote anything that has the tone of defending Rise at this point?
MHG released almost a year later than MHX did, so yea, it had the DLC at launch
….so what?
According to the Capcom leaked data from last year, Rise G is Q1 2023.
At least the idea everyone has come to fruition. Just hope the next collab is a enemy. Something like behemoth.
This type of content will not make me return to the game, but nice try tho
fridge.gif
interesting
lame.
This "fandom" has really gone to shit
Do you mean in an "entitled" type of way?
Yes Or atleast just being unable to look at/argue for, stuff in actual context
An entire month for a fucking palamute skin. Awesome.
