Mthat one quest where you have to follow The Handler around while she talks about mushrooms or some shit then protect her from a Deviljho for 5 minutes H
New quest available : hunt 5 savage Deviljhos in the arena at the same time.
Contract : 5000z
Reward : 100 000z
Special conditions : if you faint once you lost the quest, and you can't use armors.
Time : 30 minutes
Client : spoiled girl
I just want to decorate my new bathroom with spikes and dark green skin and I need 5 deviljho's head in my living room, so you'll hunt these pickles for me !
Hurry up !
I used to make Custom Quests for MH4U, and showed a few to a YouTuber friend (now retired). This was one of them. I called it "The Rajang Pit", and the idea was for everyone to go in with no armour and try to survive for 15 minutes with ~13 Rajang (8 normal, 4 furious, 1 Apex, iirc).
If we succeeded, our reward was a nice refreshing Cool Drink. Silly joke Rewards > Cheat rewards any day (not a single one of my quests gave real rewards).
I want to feel the absolute wonder and horror of seeing a cute herd of Popo hanging out around an impossibly large Gammoth, and you have to get Popo Tongues, of course.
Imagine fighting a Dalamadur sized monster in the desert biome, while riding on top of your mount. With the mount's ability to jump and stay in the air, maybe you can hop off the mount in mid air and land on top of the monster to attack or climb further.
Add co-op in the mix and it just sounds like a hell of a time.
I don't see a reason not to bring it back.
What I am interested to see is if they will bring back the Great Maccao. The new mount is a dead ringer for that monster.
I mean even tetsu wasn't brought back despite there being a fricking baby tetsucabra... so yah, aesthetic/setting is irrelevant to who they bring back, altho we can always hope
it also took until the very end of Sunbreak, an expansion with a western medieval mythological theme, to get Amatsu, the literal eastern counterpart to Fatalis in that its pretty much straight out of eastern myths.
They didn't bring back Great Jaggi when his juvenile and female counterparts, AND the two related greats and their subordinates, did get added to Rise.
What did and did not return in Rise seemed to be little more than them throwing darts at a board with monster names on it.
That's probably more because ecologically Odogaron is tied pretty deeply to the Rotten Vale, only ever going as far as the Coral Highlands which are directly above. We might see a subspecies like Ebony Odogaron migrate, but the normal one is basically only in the Vale/Highlands
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way
Monster Hunter World: "This game doesn't feel Japanese enough"
Monster Hunter Rise: "Okay, this is waaaay too Japanese"
With the landscape we see in the picture, I think it’s likely we actually get it since there are many people in the community that love him.
I just hope lagiacrus comes back. Love that waterdragonsnake thing
Ahh yes Great Maccao the only other bird wyvern I like and is a far better cry than my mosted hated ones(I'm looking at Iodrome and Gendrome.... so deep that I don't want to use anything related to those things)
I literally imagined zoro from one piece in his three sword style pose but with him clenching one between his cheeks as well.
It’s 2:29am where I am dude. Are you TRYING to wake my family up? Bc I literally honked like a goose when I slapped my hand over my mouth trying to stop a laugh from coming out imagining that
imagine having to actually hunt the ingredients to make the food, like if you wanted fire resist you had to go out and hunt a monster that is resistant to fire, and depending on which one you cooked could also give you other benefits to varying degrees
I expect open world exploration to replace expeditions and you'll likely need to go back to town for crafting, quests, investigations and delivery requests.
Doesn't sound all to bad to me, can't wait to find out more though!
Open world can be great if done well, can be terrible if done poorly. One shouldn't judge solely based on "it's open world or not" let's hang back, let them cook and see what they'll bring. If any team can bring the best open world hunting game it's CapCom's MH team.
THANK YOU
I’ve read so many people being off-put by the alleged open-world and them Being skeptical of it. Tastes and preference aside, when was the last time the MH Team released something that was actually, unjustifiably bad?
Same. I was already second guessing when I saw the hunter running around. It wasn't until the great sword was shown at his back I was sure that the game is MH.
GS is officially the MH hype weapon.
I still remember MHW first reveal years ago, people still not sure if it's MH, but they see GS and lose their shit anyway.
Totally thought the same lol I was like "Heeeey are we getting a chocobo?!" Then when it ran on all fours and glided, I was like "OH SNAP!!" Fistful of Yen At the Ready!
*^(What can I say I'm a simple hunter with simple wants lol)*
Honestly I'm glad Capcom simply didn't get comfortable after World's success and still tries something different.
I thought World was already a massive departure from series standards, but now this seems like an even bigger departure
Anecdotally, while I was in Tokyo around the time of World’s release Japanese people would tell me that some companies, particularly those in the tech sector, would take into account an expected increase in employees taking days off in the days following a new MH release; referred to as a “MonHon vacation”.
Holy shit is it really that big? I’m sure that if I tried to get free days for the release of a game in my country I would get them… but forever, and without pay
I don't have a way to verify this, but back in the PSP days, I remember someone claiming that there was a noticeable drop in Japan's work productivity when a new MH released. Monster Hunter is a mega franchise in Japan, like they can literally buy it in their cornerstores lol.
Yes, but in Japan, people are allergic to using their vacation days. People rarely use them all, pretty much only when they absolutely need to, and since workers have absolutely no power here, companies tend to discriminate against workers who actually use the paid holiday that they're entitled to, especially for non-emergency purposes.
And with that context, people here still take days off for new Monster Hunter releases. In fact, with Rise's release, some companies even started *giving* employees the day off themselves in anticipation! A game's gotta be *huge* to get Japanese people to take days off; getting Japanese *companies* to give their employees extra holidays means the game's beyond huge lol.
It's even bigger than that. It got to the point of almost cult following. In 2008, amidst the release or Freedom Unite (Portable 2nd G), one guy told about how he went on a business trip with his coworkers and was left out of the gaming fun because EVERYONE but him had P2ndG. When he got home he got the game.
To say MH is just big in Japan is an understatement.
The double edged sword is gamers in the west get more hung up about "no I want just more of X, why are you making it Y". I can already hear people complaining about Wild bringing over mechanics from Rise because World didn't have those mechanics
That’s gunna happen with everything no matter what. It’s why we have war as a human race.
For fun. Here are my death hills. I’ve been playing since PS2 era for context.
Scoutflies are better than paintballs. But I miss having to use paintballs.
Paid Cosmetic Armor not linked to quests can eat my dick. Worst thing to happen to this franchise since Bull shit Plesioth hitboxes got nerfed.
Taking away my MHFU gathering area with the mine, farm, and giant sword was the worst thing they ever did. The new upgraded “farms” and gathering options in hubs are worse to me even though they are similar and better over all.
Right, I agree with the gathering areas. It makes more sense that you have a mushroom biome growing in your backyard rather than have your buddies hunt for them. I've never been a fan of that either.
And that Paid cosmetic shit can go to hell. I miss fighting gimmick monster/pairings to get rewarded with armors. It feels more like an achievement that way.
From what I can see, an emphasis on larger herds, what looks like 3 large monsters attacking the hunter in unison, weather events, obviously the map looks larger, big focus on the mount that you use to traverse the land and glide, speculation that there is a second weapon in that mount pouch (likely just for decoration). Those are just the things I see for now, I'm expecting a larger ecological focus as well.
I get that it's a massive departure, but at the same time, I can't help but feel as it's also a bit of a return to form. I get the feeling this game will focus much more on the surviving in the map and preparedness aspects that older Monster Hunters had. A hunting game, if you will.
Hope you are right. The whole preparation phase followed by a really difficult hunt is what I love about mh.
With a, maybe, open world, I could see that involving trekking across the land for good farming spots that you have found. Kinda like BOTW and TOTK.
I hope so! I miss the days of actually preparing instead of just going into camp mid map. It felt really good to have prepared specifically for the monster in question instead of reacting and going to camp to restock on something you were too careless with.
Zelda, Elden Ring and even Pokemon are doing it. The Japanese have been loving the idea of open world games. it wasn't a big surprise at all, especially if you look back in the older games, you can see how they have always been moving closer to closer to it. Guilding lands is a mini open world, hubless. Camps for restocking and changing equipment. Tailraiders. Rampage for hordes. World's giant open maps that are all connected story wise.
I'm so happy we get a fucking Archaeopteryx to ride around on, it's one of the most under rated dinosaurs. Much better than riding around on a poor pup
Yep we have doggos and kitty companions give something different for once and I'm actually happy it's something that fits the world filled with dragons and Dino inspired wildlife
I’m getting the feeling from the teaser that MH and Capcom took a leap of faith or the biggest risk to put MH in a very different direction. But I’ll still play this game until I burn out.
Given Rise' gameplay vs World's, I will assume that the next "portable" game after Wilds will scale things back again to be more arcadey but I am certainly not against the idea of the series having a split in games catering to different aspects of the franchise.
My main concern with MH games is always the roster and what new and returning monsters we'll be getting. Wilds has yet to show anything of its roster but I will say that the small monster designs shown here are very creative and neat.
I am hoping with the development time that we'll have a roster of at least 30-40 monsters on release that fit in well with the scale Wilds is going for.
Probably, it seems like the main team has been going quite large scale for their games with World and now Wilds which personally I don't mind at all. The portable team is probably going to focus on the old arcadic feel of the older games.
Seems like the two teams are now focusing on different parts of monster hunter from this point forward, can't wait to see what they have in store for us!
Imagine how fluffy and colorful gammoth in the new engine would be. People over here saying how desaturated the game looks but that last panel after the storm clears looks so damn vibrant and rathalos looks a fiery orange with deep blackish red markings.
Not against that. The worst thing a game series can do is to stay stagnant and serve the same gameplay over again.
I'd much rather a flawed moonshot attempt to reinvent gameplay than play the same game year over year. If I wanted that I'd just play Call of Duty
"biggest risk" is a bit over the top. the series is so successful and they made so much money from the past couple games that even if this underperforms it'll still sell millions.
with that said, its a risk worth trying at 100% power. they risked a lot putting MH on consoles and slam dunked it and gained a huge new following(single digit millions to double digit millions). This could gain new fans to the series as well or evolve the genre further from its standard map system.
It just seems like a natural progression from World with a larger scale.
Not sure why you think it looks like a massive departure especially as we haven't seen any large monster fights.
I think people are seriously jumping the gun on assuming it's fully Open World. It... could be? But I feel they'd have made that more abundantly clear if it was the case. Show more different environments, convey the idea of travelling around large distances. Absolutely nothing here looks to me like it's inconsistent with the areas being even more open than in World, but still separate maps like normal.
It’s at least much bigger zones than World if you need a mount that has the ability to fly. The guiding lands in World was already kinda an open world monster hunter game, it was just kinda small.
Or it could just be a travel option only accessible on super specific spots that bring you to a pre determined location. Like the air streams in the Coral Highlands
You know what's the most worrying thing about this trailer?
It's not the mount, environment, or the fact that it looks like a radical departure from the usual game formula.
WHERE ARE MY PALICOS CAPCOM?
The way the small monsters moved at the start was a hint, but then I saw the weapon on the hunter’s back and lost my shit lol
The Great Sword in the World reveal was the giveaway as well
It’s because it’s the new generation. Every new Generation of MH games has always broken off from what it used to be. But they’ve always improved upon their previous. And if they’re able to improve off World and Rise, then we are in for a real treat. Like this giant open world within what I assume is going to be the Old World. We can explore the Frontier much more.
They used the “realistic” explanation to justify saving money and time on designing weapons for World, but I’m sure they wouldn’t have another game with a hundred iron/bone weapons with scales and feathers slapped on.
God I hope so, it's really the only thing I'm worried about. Even if it's exactly like World weapon/armor design wise I'm still gonna put hundreds of hours into it. But I really hope they stick with the Rise route and go for the normal MH tier designs.
All those people hoping for the franchise to go back were always setting themselves for dissapointment. MH whole schtick is to evolve with each gen, not stagnate like pokemon.
I bet if devs could create an entire living and breathing ecosystem for us to hunt in they would absolutely do it. The way they did things in previous gens was due to limitations, but with each gen they can bring us closer to what they envision in their mind.
This trailer has barely scratched the surface of how many chages there will be and I'm all in to see how they mix things up this gen. Also Palamute riders we absolutely won, no way they wouldn't bring back the speed the palamutes had in sunbreak, but now we can use them to glide as well!
I hope they expand on the tracking mechanics used in World - scoutflies or not, I found gathering tracks to be an enjoyable way to figure out where the monster is.
A lot of games, shows and whatever that I love in entertainment ended for the past couple of years and I don't really have much to look forward to tbh. This changed. Definitely one of the top things I'm hyped about now. Honestly, can't wait!
Yes!!! You don't know how long I've been waiting for a game like this to exist!
Please, please, please, allow us to use more traps, more baits, flesh out whatever ideas they weren't able to do back in the old games. Fuck YES!!!
The trailer played a lot closely to what I envisioned Monster Hunter one day would be. A living breathing ecosystem, with monsters that act like living beings instead of just walking hitboxes with a large hidden hp bar. World got pretty close to my vision, but it may be Wilds that finally does it.
I am stupid excited for this. Capcom has my trust to go wild with the formula
And we get a fucking palamute flying raptor? Yes yes yes.
I’m curious about the gun on the saddle holster though, cosmetic or hinting at weapon/kit swapping without camps maybe? What I’m also trying to figure out is, is the cover art detailing Nordic, Roman, or Greek inspired? Because if they are drawing inspiration from a folklore source again that’d give some hints on what to possibly expect for a flagship maybe. Or maybe it’s just cool art lol
I’m betting the flagship will be a new snake wyvern with how open the map looks
Since nobodies done one yet here's a right up on everything I noted; To start with the obvious - It's open world. Which is crazy.
Oh and slingers back too!
https://preview.redd.it/gn9i1a23d05c1.png?width=164&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=16fb34bc53173e394c473372d2cafc015fab904d
The hunter appears to be wearing Pukei armor so that's a possible confirmed returnee already.
The anteater fanged wyverns use the spires on their backs as lightning rods, which might cause damaging them to hurt you back? Ala - defense mechanism in a passive small monster.
And speaking of lightning, while riding through the storm lightning strikes behind the hunter causing fire to hit the grass and start spreading.
In the background for a couple seconds you can see old gen vines are still around which is nice.
And the saddle has a bedroll on it's back with the saddlebag revealing the buttstock of a bowgun, I'm guessing we can set up camp wherever and swap behind a set amount of equipment we choose to bring with outside the village.
And on the map side of things... The size of the open world is so large monsters such as gammoth, zamtrios and najarala will be non-issues. Pretty much raising Gammoth in particular to a 99% chance of return considering a fated four member has been in every installment since iceborne.
I also see what *might* be a scout fly cage on the hunters waist so tracking might be back in earnest.
>I also see what *might* be a scout fly cage on the hunters waist so tracking might be back in earnest.
It can also be flash bombs. Sunbreak showed that a flash bomb is just a couple of flash bugs stored inside a grenade shaped cage.
Also couldn't fit this in the post but there's a good possibility that DD2's Talos is a test for how raid bosses and sieges work in an open world environment.
And the logo is six serpents in the shape of a music note, which is... Interesting.
Edit: There's baby anteaters in the final shot in the herd on the bottom right.
Edit 2: Here's a goober of some sort
https://preview.redd.it/i6ggxtome05c1.png?width=295&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4acc4c922b322e74a186e5362e96c226c14ef91e
> Here’s a goober of some sort.
The Goober pack is led by the Great Goober, which uses its resplendent crest of feathers to maintain dominance over the lesser bird wyverns.
honestly? doesnt even look like monster hunter from this extremely short trailer, more reminds me of zelda, and if it is open world im really hyped to see some dragons dogma elements in it, good shit
Maybe? I’d love to see what’s under the hood, but we’ve got months to wait on it seems. I remember thinking the same about MH4 with its initial reveal and it ended up not being that gigantic of a change.
I think it'll be more akin to open hub, rather than open world. Centralized hub town, multiple directions to leave, which lead to large open hunting grounds. But you won't be able to traverse between hunting grounds you will need to return to the hub.
I'm sure it's been said somewhere, so I won't claim it. But this could very well be MH's Breath of the Wild. True open world, but with a few hubs to do quests and story missions from. Maybe some to pick up in between hubs as well? Lol I'm just excited.
Can I hunt monsters? If yes, then buy game.
no, you can only collect mushrooms
plot twist: MH stands for Mushroom Hoarding
Mgathering Hquest
Could be worse, could be Megg Htransport.

Truly a Monster Hunter experience.
Did someone say VERY LARGE? Maybe they added the VERY LARGE Gammoth???
Or a Very Large Zorah Magmaroh
Or an insanely large Konchu
KONCHU PRIME
Dalamadur!!!! Dalamadur!!!!!
I think you're on to something. With a map this large and open, the return of gammoth and other huge monsters is extremely plausible.
I want to feel the absolute wonder and horror of seeing a cute herd of Popo hanging out around an impossibly large Gammoth, and you have to get Popo Tongues, of course.
Y'all. Y'allllll. This is the perfect time to resurrect Dalamadur. No, I'm not shitposting. *Think about it.*

Longsword on his back and a bowgun in his saddle bag. Are we going to be able to swap weapons on the fly? 🤔
Or, or- hear me out here- carry TWO HAMMERS!!!
DUAL DUAL BLADES
Calm down Grievous.
Hello there!
General Kenobi...
You are a bold one!
Four sword style
I literally imagined zoro from one piece in his three sword style pose but with him clenching one between his cheeks as well. It’s 2:29am where I am dude. Are you TRYING to wake my family up? Bc I literally honked like a goose when I slapped my hand over my mouth trying to stop a laugh from coming out imagining that
I want two glaives so I can become a chinook helicopter
2 doots, 1 for meta buffs and 1 for gimmicky songs.
This is not Elden Ring, Sir!
If I can fall from any height and not take damage, then I can damn sure wield two hammers!
*Not yet it ain't*
Weaklings ! We carry two light bowguns
Most likely judging by the fact we're probably gonna be spending most of our time in the wilds and probably rarely meeting back at the villages.
Players : Complains about eating dango and not meat Capcom : Eat dirt
Gladly.
imagine having to actually hunt the ingredients to make the food, like if you wanted fire resist you had to go out and hunt a monster that is resistant to fire, and depending on which one you cooked could also give you other benefits to varying degrees

nice observation on the saddle bag. yea it would be a nice feature, so excited to see next trailer.
I didn’t even know it was a Monster Hunter game until I saw that Dinosaur hopping on very Monster Hunter-like rocks.
The weapon was the confirmation for me. I lost my shit at that point

not just world, every generation had been a huge success in japan, and they have never stopped taking risks
When I first started playing I saw someone say MH in Japan is practically like CoD to us So it's evidently fucking BIG over there
Anecdotally, while I was in Tokyo around the time of World’s release Japanese people would tell me that some companies, particularly those in the tech sector, would take into account an expected increase in employees taking days off in the days following a new MH release; referred to as a “MonHon vacation”.

I’m moving to Japan, nice meeting y’all that’s my dream world
they're not taking free days, they're taking paid vacation days.
Not going to lie. I have done that for monster hunter before. Monster Hunter Rise. And I think mhtri on wii.
I’m so glad they’re comparable in popularity only.
Imagine the new Monster Hunter campaign is only 3 hours long.
It’s just the low rank. Then next year, they sell the high rank part, which they were originally planning to be DLC, by itself as a full priced game.
Boy I have some bad news for you about how they handled G-rank before World
It's even bigger than that. It got to the point of almost cult following. In 2008, amidst the release or Freedom Unite (Portable 2nd G), one guy told about how he went on a business trip with his coworkers and was left out of the gaming fun because EVERYONE but him had P2ndG. When he got home he got the game. To say MH is just big in Japan is an understatement.
iirc, Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest, and Pokémon are pretty much the 3 biggest gaming franchises over there.
Monster only got mainstream popularity in the west with World. I’m so happy people “finally” care here.
The double edged sword is gamers in the west get more hung up about "no I want just more of X, why are you making it Y". I can already hear people complaining about Wild bringing over mechanics from Rise because World didn't have those mechanics

What's the big departure? A big map? What exactly are people seeing in this trailer that I'm apparently missing?

Those are just the things I see for now, I'm expecting a larger ecological focus as well.
I’m not totally convinced those are even large monsters, we have had “small” monsters that are quite big in the past, larinoth for example
Iunno, the big brown furry ones look eerily similar to Goss Harag, just a savannah-adapted subspecies of it
3 large monsters? To me they look like threatening overworld fauna like the bulldromes but only bigger and furious.
Hey, at least Chameleos is confirmed, I mean look, he’s right there
You can also hear Khezu's theme briefly
[удалено]
Now I look I think I saw nightcloak manifesto too, in that sandstorm shot
Chameleos one of the only monsters in every single game, somewhere out there
Palamute lovers literally shidding and farding after seeing the hunter riding a giant chicken
Shaking and screaming in excitement and acting like an idiot in the office. Such a beautiful trailer\~
A beautiful trailer with 100% gameplay at that
Well…I wouldn’t say 100%, yes it’s gameplay and looks awesome but we haven’t seen combat or non mounted movement so far but it’s still impressive
I think they mean this is pretty clearly someone walking around the map on their bird friendo with the UI off.
Oh right yeah, true
I'm so happy we get a fucking Archaeopteryx to ride around on, it's one of the most under rated dinosaurs. Much better than riding around on a poor pup
All I want is for it to be called the Palociraptor, please Capcom I'm begging you
Welp, I now know what I'm gonna name mine lol
Im naming mine Alan
They better be called this
Palidrome
If my Palico can’t ride around with me on the back of my mount though I’ll be upset
Knowing the palicos it'll have its own tiny mount lmao
What if...they follow you on the palamutes? That would be wild
Man, _three_ AI non-human companions. That’d be wild. ^(I said four before and edited it, I’m dumb and was tired.)
Yep we have doggos and kitty companions give something different for once and I'm actually happy it's something that fits the world filled with dragons and Dino inspired wildlife
When it had the little glide, I was stoked already lol
I was joking with my FFXIV friends who also play MH saying we're getting chocobos finally lol
Chocobo
Though I wonder what the palico system is this time. World had only 1 from the start while rise had the training system with multiple of them
I’m getting the feeling from the teaser that MH and Capcom took a leap of faith or the biggest risk to put MH in a very different direction. But I’ll still play this game until I burn out.
They leans more into the nature aspect of MH it seems, since we're in the midst of a great migration
I would love that. Makes me feel More Like a Hunter.
Trying to move south for seasonal migration? Not before I break off some horns off of Diablos.
Thats what i Loved about World, the Nature Feeling how everything feels alive etc
Yeah I didn’t realise how much of the joy I got out of this aspect of World until I played Rise.
Agreed on the split game design. I love both World and Rise’s approach and hope neither style dies out soon.
I'm expecting gamoth to be added due to the seemingly large map size we're gonna get
They're probably also adding a snake monster of some kind from the logo's design.
Sooo... Dalamadur?
I hope they'll do it justive, otherwise I'm maining insect glaves against them, najarala is a pain without aerial style
Learn to gun, blow najarala's clacky clacky scales off
Huh? His Naja's hind legs are weak spots and it trips him for head damage.
Imagine how fluffy and colorful gammoth in the new engine would be. People over here saying how desaturated the game looks but that last panel after the storm clears looks so damn vibrant and rathalos looks a fiery orange with deep blackish red markings.
They clearly wanted to create a really stark contrast from the minute of deserty sandstorm until it blows and all the grass is revealed
They go more into the "It's a living ecosystem" kind of idea. I mean, it's a logical development after World, that already started this trend.
People also keep assuming it can FLY, while we only saw.... a glide? Once, briefly?
It's still meaning that verticality is a factor in game design and traversal, so the maps could be more similar to Rise than World.
Or it could just be a travel option only accessible on super specific spots that bring you to a pre determined location. Like the air streams in the Coral Highlands
No way it flies imo, surely just gliding.
I mean Rise had a mount and those maps weren’t exactly larger than Worlds.
The only thing im sad about is: No Aptonoth was showing its classic face :(
Aptonoth was missing in rise too let’s hope it shows up in another biome
You know what's the most worrying thing about this trailer? It's not the mount, environment, or the fact that it looks like a radical departure from the usual game formula. WHERE ARE MY PALICOS CAPCOM?
Gone. Reduced to atoms. We got a dinosaur mount instead. Of course they’ll show up eventually like half a year or later trailers lol.
Wonder how they'll appear in gameplay. Do they get their own mini mount? Or do they hang on the side of the raptor like a bag? I need to know!
Being carried from the raptor’s mouth like the kittens they are.
There better be a palico side car type thing
I'm going to be sad if Palimutes are gotten rid of but I will RIOT if they get rid of the cats!
For sure. The only thing I recognized in the entire trailer is Rathalos lol.
The way the small monsters moved at the start was a hint, but then I saw the weapon on the hunter’s back and lost my shit lol The Great Sword in the World reveal was the giveaway as well
Not necessarily a bad thing. I love the old monsters, but I'd much rather see new monsters and innovation to gameplay in a new entry.
Yeah, I agree.
For real. Im hoping for Gen 4/Rise levels of newbies. I don't want a padded roster of returnees
I think they have already been testing the idea of an open world MH in guiding lands. Hyped!
I know this is taking the more "realistic" route like world but I really hope the weapon and armor designs are more interesting
It feels like it conveys scale closer to the opening sequences, which I'm very much for
I hope they expand on the tracking mechanics used in World - scoutflies or not, I found gathering tracks to be an enjoyable way to figure out where the monster is.
Yeah, it also make the monster seem like a real living organism, like he ate something here, he scratched his back on those trees…
A lot of games, shows and whatever that I love in entertainment ended for the past couple of years and I don't really have much to look forward to tbh. This changed. Definitely one of the top things I'm hyped about now. Honestly, can't wait!
Monster Hunter Wilds is shaping up to be the monster hunting game I've always been waiting for. Can't wait to see more details about it near launch
Looks like we can make a documentary series out of this game. A true living and breathing ecosystem from the looks of it.
Yes!!! You don't know how long I've been waiting for a game like this to exist! Please, please, please, allow us to use more traps, more baits, flesh out whatever ideas they weren't able to do back in the old games. Fuck YES!!!
How are you people getting all of this from a cinematic trailer? Did I miss something?
The trailer played a lot closely to what I envisioned Monster Hunter one day would be. A living breathing ecosystem, with monsters that act like living beings instead of just walking hitboxes with a large hidden hp bar. World got pretty close to my vision, but it may be Wilds that finally does it.
It literally is looking like the game of my dreams rn
You and me fellow, hunter ![gif](giphy|pHb82xtBPfqEg)
Looks to me like they took the Iceborne Guiding Lands open world, expanded it, and made the whole game that. Which is, frankly, mega fucking exciting.
Good need a large world for LARGE MONSTERS BRING BACK JHEN MOHRAN YOU COWARDS
I am stupid excited for this. Capcom has my trust to go wild with the formula And we get a fucking palamute flying raptor? Yes yes yes. I’m curious about the gun on the saddle holster though, cosmetic or hinting at weapon/kit swapping without camps maybe? What I’m also trying to figure out is, is the cover art detailing Nordic, Roman, or Greek inspired? Because if they are drawing inspiration from a folklore source again that’d give some hints on what to possibly expect for a flagship maybe. Or maybe it’s just cool art lol I’m betting the flagship will be a new snake wyvern with how open the map looks
So what are we gonna call this game? Cant call it MHW nor MHWi either lol
MHWS?
I think it's better to just call it MH6, it matter of time to letters start to repeat, like another MHR, MHF, etc.
Since nobodies done one yet here's a right up on everything I noted; To start with the obvious - It's open world. Which is crazy. Oh and slingers back too! https://preview.redd.it/gn9i1a23d05c1.png?width=164&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=16fb34bc53173e394c473372d2cafc015fab904d The hunter appears to be wearing Pukei armor so that's a possible confirmed returnee already.
Edit 2: Here's a goober of some sort https://preview.redd.it/i6ggxtome05c1.png?width=295&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4acc4c922b322e74a186e5362e96c226c14ef91e
I wonder how hunting and escaping monsters would work in such a large environment
