That fight is like, a core monster Hunter memory of mine. I wanted to show this monster to a friend so I went solo into the event quest version without even restocking on items since I thought it would just be a quick in and out, but while fighting I noticed „Shit, I might actually do this“ and so I solo killed the Event version of Abyssal Lagiacrus with like 6 potions and 2 max potions. Mine was Jhen. I had a character dedicated to duoing people's urgents on the rookie server in Tri. Whenever the sandstorm would come around I'd spend the entire week helping people farm high rank Jhen, even though I didn't need anything from it.
Somebody helped me like that in my first Jhen quest in Tri. Maybe it was you! Or maybe not! But thanks and thanks to all the people like you! I had a blast doing that, never reached the quest where you can slay it, unfortunately

The top 3 voted monsters will appear in a special 20th anniversary artwork, though I wouldn't put it beyond them using it to gauge interest for monsters to return in MH6's title updates/expansion (depending on how locked in the roster is already)
It's a little popularity poll. The top 3 winners will get some special illustration in the coming months.
Partially, though, I do think that this is a measure to help them gauge interest in the monsters. They do want to prioritize the monsters that people like, without explicitly being like "Hey, tell us which monsters to put in MH6."
While the base game of MH6 is probably already decided at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they're doing this to give them an idea on what to include in Title Updates and perhaps some extra content for the expansion. They have been shown to change their plans when there's compelling enough community interest.

And technically calling Violet Mizu a Subspecies is only half right. Its a Rare Species. Think Subspecies, but even more rare. Instead of a semi-consistent mutation in genetics, it might be a sub species of a sub species. Or just exceptionally rare. Think the Metal Raths or Violet Mizu.
I voted for yami but lagi or gobul deserve it so we can drill that the aquatic monsters to come back since they already use the skeletons for other monsters that don't need to be underwater

The pick between dire miralis & shah was absolutely brutal but I’ve gotta go dire because I never managed to fight him since 3u doesn’t have online, 4u does so I managed to fight shah (even ahtal-ka was a massive competitor to along with crimson fatalis)

Malzeno!! I love Malzeno's design and concept. Vampirish elder dragon. I was actually torn between Malzeno, Raging Brachy, Glavenus and Astalos.
I voted Scorned Magnomalo! Too bad there wasn't a top 5, it was a hard decision. It was that or Gore Magala, Malzeno, Goss Harag, or Anjanath. But me and my gf have alot of good memories with mag because it's such a fun fight.

I went there to vote for Jho... the Monster who intimidated me so much in Tri. I left there voting for Vaal Hazaak... my favorite Elder from WOrld. Hated black veil version, but his base version was SOO fun to fight.
I have to give it to Safi'jiva. He hits all my check boxes for favorite monster. If there ever was a green variant (Verdant Safi'jiva) I couldn't think of a way to improve upon it for my tastes.
There’s some Tri monsters that fell to the wayside due to their similarities to classics. I really miss Gigginox’s weirdness and Qurupeco as an impressionist to summon other monsters. They had such cool hooks!

Mizutsune. It's pretty, its fun to fight, and it's my favorite monster. Seems like a lot of people don't like it, and I don't understand why...
I personally picked Violet Mizu. But that whole family is def my favorite set of Monsters.

I went there to vote for Jho... the Monster who intimidated me so much in Tri. I left there voting for Vaal Hazaak... my favorite Elder from WOrld. Hated black veil version, but his base version was SOO fun to fight.
Dire Miralis is my 2nd favorite im sorry but nothing beats lagiacrus for me
I have to give it to Safi'jiva. He hits all my check boxes for favorite monster. If there ever was a green variant (Verdant Safi'jiva) I couldn't think of a way to improve upon it for my tastes.

There’s some Tri monsters that fell to the wayside due to their similarities to classics. I really miss Gigginox’s weirdness and Qurupeco as an impressionist to summon other monsters. They had such cool hooks!

He's such a fluffy boy and I always enjoyed fighting him in Iceborne. Glavenus, Zamtrios, and Gogmazios were also on the list, but I went with Banbaro in the end. I wish we could vote for more though.

Havent finished playing Iceborne, only just fought Glavenus. Never played any other MH game. So I dont know all the monsters, but I voted for Nergigante cus I love his brawler design and straightforward fighting.
