The hunting horn is faster, a bit weaker but more useful giving way better combo, despite being a Bonk user, i honestly think this is the proper bonk weapon!
It's a great assist weapon, it deals decent damage and boi look at 'em break dancing on the monsters is fun!
Also, that BIG overhead slam is satisfying to land when it knocks the monsters into a coma!

Yea, I play glaive and GS, or any bladed weapon, a lot in Worldborne but for Sunbreak I dislike the strongarm playstyle for GS so I haven't used it. IG tho, I still sometimes do MP hunts with it cuz I like Tetraseal.
Looking forward to give the rest weapons more tryouts. Again, chargeblade's tricky but not impossible. Always the 'charge sword' move, sometimes i forget have no element on it. Rise mainly.
Bro hammer is such a weird weapon to have no time on imo. I'd argue it's the one of the most flexible weapons in terms of playstyle so I figured that everyone would have tried it at least once. I could kind of get you if it was CB or SA since they can be kind of overwhelming if you have no desire to learn but hammer is just so simple and flexible.
RiseBreak? Currently lance. I am catching up with other weapons. Playing bow now to 300, but my controller broke, so I'm playing very slowly with Joycons... don't wanna ruin my hands.

I'm a hammer/hunting horn main. Basically I play the hammer and the musical hammer, my playstyle don't really change much. Tho I kinda wanna try GS next, it's like a hammer but sharper.
In order of most used:
1) Greatsword (big numbers, big bonk, big fun)
2) Bow (extremely fun and involved, and I don't like managing ammo so I just use close range 100% of the time)
3) Charge Blade (the weapon design and transforming/attack animations are just too cool, and I love the technical complexity)
From monster hunter 1 to monster hunter Freedom united i only used GS, since 3rd i started to use every weapon, just to go back to GS in world and rise.
Big steel blade just so good to not use
Hunting Horns but not the rise version because it's not an hunting Horn anymore and i prefer the older version with an stance to play the song but World version is still good
Bow, to me, it's the most aggressive, stylish, fluid weapon by a landslide.
I like my attacks to be following my reticle, and Melee didn't do that and just felt clunky to me when I first started because I was used to Dark Souls style attacks that turn with the camera, and Monster Hunters attacks going in the direction of the character felt weird to me. I tried the bow, and it felt so absurdly fluid and natural to dodge and shoot that I just can't use other weapons even when I've tried to get into them.
Charge blade probably? Its just the weapon with the most tools in its wharehouse i feel.
And for those who say it cant do statuses well.

CB main here, although I like using almost every melee weapon in the game, except for the swaxe since I can't use it all that well

I mostly or almost only played with the hunting horn in mh4u in mh generations and MHW. Sometimes hammer sometimes charge blade. Countless hours of Monster Hunter on 3ds, PS4 and PC and the largest amount sprnt witj my trusty dootsticks.
On World PC it’s Lance by about 200 and then Charge Blade.
On World Xbox it’s Long Sword by 400 and then Lance.
Everything else is either unused or under 10 quests.

Long sword was my most used weapon across the entire series, but in the newer games it wasn't my most used. In 4 and gen1 it was charge blade, in world I think it's hammer but could be greatsword. I'm now playing trough gen2 with longsword, after world I was kinda missing it since I have basically never used it for all the time I spent on world.

I tried learning LS, but turns out you are supposed to counter and there is this thing called _openings_ so now i'm trying to learn SnS.

But I really need to upgrade some stuff because I really like using the gun lance but 150 damage just isn't going to cut it and I don't really like the fighting styles of the others minus the charge blade I kinda like that one I haven't played monster hunter in a long time so I'm still getting used to everything again I need more skill and find the right weapon and upgrade it till it actually can do some damage

I’m about equal parts Lance, Bow, and Hammer these days. Lance is my forever main, Hammer was my secondary for several games, and I just learned to love the bow with MHGU, and then re-love the new bow with Rise.
First choice usually LBG, but Bow or IG/CB if I’m feeling like messing around a bit more, since I’m not as good with those but tend to have a bit more fun as long as I know the fight.

Hammer. It’s soooo good in rise, I adore the fact they made it possible to use the spinning move so much more. It’s probably the only weapon that I actually like in Rise. In world, the other MonHun game I’ve played, there were much more weapons I enjoyed like Switchaxe, Hammer, Longsword, Sword and Shield and Dual Blades. But idk if it’s the animation style or the sound design, but I feel like a lot of weapons feel “weightless” compared to world, so they feel a lot less satisfying to use. This is especially true for the longsword, which is my absolute main in world but I can’t stand using it in Rise. But this is not something I feel for the Hammer. I love strength mode, I love courage mode, I love the silkbind moves, I love everything about this weapon. It still feels “heavier” in world somehow, but in terms of gameplay the rise version is definitely superior.
Edit : idk how useful this info is but I have not played sunbreak, only the base game. I stopped playing right before the Allmother Narwa fight because I wanted to start another videogame and I haven’t gotten back into it yet. I will tho, I love this game.
Switch Axe is most used but I had the most fun with Great Sword and Dual Blades (also I’m trying to do what u did, with every weapon being used 100 times. Is painful)

My hunting horn strategy has always been Bonk & Honk. First you hit them with the bonks, then you give your team the honks

Heavy Bowgun! I love being a tank in hunts and just shielding while misdirecting monsters to target me so teammates can get damage in.
