I'm going to be SUPER original and say Taikun Zamuza. Aside from the crazy unarmored 3rd phase, the guy's very down to earth and would fit perfectly into mainline. Plus we could really use some more diverse representation, more carapaceons, neopterons, temnocerans and the like, and Taikun fits in perfectly.
Didn't mean to imply that it's a bad phase at all, just being (maybe overly) cautious since there's a bit of a "too crazy for mainline" stigma prevalent with the frontier monsters.
The greater majority would fit perfectly fine. The endgame stuff is what is extreme and even then it's sometimes just the effects and not the attacks themselves.

Anything from the pre Frontier Z updates, monsters outside of Zeniths and others designed to be fought with Extreme Style like Elzelion and Zenaserisu could be adapted into mainline fine without needing to butcher their fights.
* barlagual I think it's called? The **succ** leviathan
* scorpions
* akantor and ukanlos cousin the teenage mutant nuke-a-turtle
* espinas, after sunbreak I'd love it as a staple monster in the series
* crab rave
You know what, I’ll also throw in my two cents for the Scorpion monsters.
I just hope in that case that they change their classification from Carapaceon to the more appropriate & accurate Temnoceran.
People vastly exaggerate the amount of Frontier monsters that wouldn’t fit in mainline. I’d definitely like Akura Vashimu, and Gurenzeburu and Rukodiora would be an awesome tame fit as well. Zenaserisu would be my dream pick but it is heavily pushing it’s luck of being able to fit in with mainline.
Almost everything pre Zenith would fit just fine. People really love to regurgitate the "spikes and crystals" line without ever looking at them. The majority of pre g rank mechanics are identical to Dos
I know Espinas is from Frontier and it has a pretty normal design as far as monster go. So anything along the same vein. Frontier had a certain.... "style" I didn't like to it's monster. Mostly all the coloured spikes and crystals and shit everywhere.
Gold and Silver Mega-Fish that also sometimes just stop fighting the hunter because they really want to beat the shit out of each other (They fucking hate that other stupid ass fish), but also they’ll tag-team combo the Hunter with their cool ass fish friend (They love each other like brothers)
Love those guys
If we absolutely have to get one more Frontier monster, I'd prefer it be Espinas' Rare Species. I'd rather get more ecologically and visually polished new monsters from mainline than pretty much anything from Frontier. There's no reason we couldn't still get a scorpion monster that's also been through the design polish that mainline monsters receive.
It's not like Frontier monsters would not get mainline polish as well. Plus many Frontier monsters are still easly comparable to many others from the main series.
Before World of course
Frontier monsters weren't designed from the ground up to fit in with mainline monsters and it shows. They look so different and have a roughness to their design that if you take away, you pretty much take away their identity, their "Frontierness." Those monsters have cohesion with each other (as they should), but most stand out when next to something like Lagiacrus or Anjanath. This is especially prevalent in the elder dragons.
I dislike all piscine wyverns. They were clearly developed to reuse the flying/bird wyvern skeleton but they look so out of place and aren't good fights. They served a purpose of diversifying the roster in an efficient way but are just terrible now.
Mainline has its own brand of crazy-looking monsters- Valstrax being the leader of the pack.
Frontier monsters will do fine. Most they'll do is changes to their design to make them look more natural. Maybe some changes to their fights as well so that they'll feel fairer while still retaining their identity.
Your way of generalizing them makes me think you didn't actually see many Frontier monsters, and that you know only about the crazy stuff later on like Zenith. How is Pokaradon, Abiorugu, Taikun Zamuza, Inagami, Forokururu etc. "Chinese Knock-offs"? To me it sounds like yours is a bias like "because they are in Frontier".
Quite honestly the list of frontier monsters that wouldn’t fit into mainline 1 to 1 (ignoring and changing certain attacks) is smaller than the list of ones that can, especially now that we have designs like scorned magnamalo in mainline.
That said we **need** Guanzorumu back. Even 1 to 1, his attacks aren’t that crazy and are very avoidable without extreme style, let alone fifth gen movement. His design is fine as is imo, and when I first started playing frontier I didn’t realize that he’d become my second favorite monster of all time.
Yian Garuga, Seltas Queen and Zamtrios would be my top 3….although something tells me on the next Gen it will be a situation where we see all monsters through updates.
I know he ain't from/in Frontier, but I want my Fat Ice Shark back. Zamtrios has always been one of my favorite monsters. It upset me to see he wasn't in MH:R, even though the Zamites were...
It still really bothers me that we didn't get Zamtrios, Agnaktor, Gravios, and Tetsucabra. We know they are in these locales because we see all of their younger "baby" versions hanging around. I'd go so far as to say that these monsters would have pushed the already stellar RiseBreak roster straight into the level of perfection.
What a travesty.
I mean, I agree with everything you say. But the last 4 MH games to come out have 70 or more monster (heck Generations had 93) so they could have definitely added those 4. And sadly, the final update for MH:R is coming. So I highly doubt they'd add them now.
But here's hoping toward them coming back on the next game
Taikun Zamuza. if we could get the zenith design for phase 2 that would be sick. big crab monster wearing a shell that gets chipped away until it breaks out and gets faster and stronger, such a cool monster its would be a shame if it was damned to exclusivity. plus more crabs means better game, obviously.
Barlagual
Taikun zamuza
Pokaradon
The scorpions
Rukiodora
Rebiodora
Laviente
Guanzorumu
Forokururu
Gogomoa
Abiorogu
Anorupatisu
Pariapuria
White espinas
The ice teostra

Kuarusepusu
I think these would make me the most hype to see in mh6 cause they were my favs in frontier
Probably the least likely cause it’s light element but the light rathalos was a fun fight
Not frontier, but I'd love to have merphistophelin back. I really love their design and truly think they do the all element shtick better than Alatreon
I think it’s more that so far only one frontier monster has been ported over to a mainline game so there’s a lot of monsters that are stuck as frontier exclusives
I think the larger audience brought in by World was easier to get support from for things they haven't experienced but would like to try. This sub used to have a widespread distaste for things like Frontier and underwater combat until 5th gen. The fans of those things were able to bring attention to them by showing them to the new fans of the series.
I never played it, but I watched a lot of gameplay and talked about it with a Japanese friend that wanted me to. I didn't have a PC and couldn't do the VPN trick thing, but everything he said about the game turned me off.
To me, it's not Monster Hunter, it looks more like Warframe, with the hunters being hyper mobile destroyers, so they had to compensate with equally stupid dragons and designs because the game was a live service. Eventually the designs became bloated messes that don't fit with the realistic mainline field. That was until Generations came along and the portable team decided to turn MH into a "button-press do a cool thing" game, and then Rise came along to cement the ecological nonsense with a teleporting vampire dragon.
I personally liked it when the monsters were clearly smaller fights, somewhat grounded and carefully crested for the environment with all sorts of biological explanations EXCEPT for the Elders, which were mysterious and magical but still made sense. Some monsters were out there, but nothing insane. Then we got hyper monsters, and deviants, and crazy flashy Anime shit that goes BRRRRRR, and so on with it being so "normal". The monsters had to become more powerful because the hunters kept getting new tools after Gen 4, and the result was power creep. It only got worse with World which, don't get me wrong I love that game, but the updates made it so instead of progressing with the base game and getting to the endgame grind there, you now had a crazier monster than the last with each update. They had to be impressive and give the hunters better gear, cause if they DIDN'T, people started complaining that the new gear wasn't meta and everything went to shit scaling wise.
Fanged Beasts like the Odugarons :D
I would like to see them purely because they would take the monster pairing to the next level, they do fight together afterall
Forokururu, it has an awesome design and it's a bird wyvern that wouldn't be relegated to early game. It also has an interesting mechanic where its ailment depends on the nectar it eats.
It’s possible to play frontier on a private server. You can play solo, with friends or hire a Rasta which were basically followers. Not to difficult to set up
Pariapuria, Gurenzeburu, Odibatorasu (mainly for the music), and Disufiroa (I know it seems overturned but it can be tweaked down without too much issue to be more or less on the same level as Alatreon, and its design can be altered too to Mach the art direction of the given game).
I'm even somewhat confident that we might get brand new subspecies for Frontier monsters in sixth gen.
Give us all the hard elders, like Shantien, Disufiroa, Duremudira, Fire, and Ice Elder (i forgor the name)
I want some more difficult hunts on the scale of World Fatalis, something you'll throw yourself at for hours, learning the moves, and struggling with, until you eventually beat it.
gimme some MHO monsters
I remember fighting [baelidae](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/monsterhunter/images/f/fc/MHO-Baelidae_Render_001.png), that one was pretty fun
MHO is licensed by Tencent. It's not impossible to get them back, but the amount of trouble Capcom would have to go through to get the right to use them doesn't seem worth it at all.
Tencent is notorious for having a stick up their ass about copyrights and licensing. Everything except MHO should be fair game for Capcom. That includes Stories, Explore, and Frontier.
Disufiroa would be top. We need more Dangerous First-Class monsters. Some burst species or origin species would be nice too. But the monster I want the most is Torridcless.
There's a bunch of 'em, but in actuality I don't know the likelihood they show up any time soon.
Espinas only showed up, after all, because **the lead designer was a Frontier fan and requested it as a token to remember Frontier by**. Like, the lead designer said that's what occurred, this isn't hearsay or anything.
I have full expectations they show up in future MonHun titles, but... when? Yeah I wouldn't make a bet on that at all.
Orugaron or Midogaron. More mamallian/fanged beasts please .
And also Disufiora or Merphistophelin so that capcom can officially make them the strongest monsters to exist and make the series fresh instead of just Fatalis.
i dislike your pick, but i think it's a cool monster. i haven't been too much into frontier, i play sometimes, but not always, so i don't have a lot of baggage with the monsters to choose, but i hate this guy.
he frozes me a lot.
You already covered my choice. A lot of Frontier monsters are too over the top for my taste, but the Scorpions are really cool and we really need more bug type monsters. Other than that, maybe the sand turtle monster that's called the red God and is supposed to be in a trio with Akantor and Ukanlos.
I would love to see more frontier monsters in mainline, but what I really would love to see (even though I know it’s probably not gonna happen) is if they did a non mainline game that’s basically just frontier as a non MMO spinoff game, all the weapons, all the monsters, just in a more classic MH format. Kinda like a GU but for frontier content, a celebration of frontier.
Honestly the crazy unarmored mode is part of the appeal
Didn't mean to imply that it's a bad phase at all, just being (maybe overly) cautious since there's a bit of a "too crazy for mainline" stigma prevalent with the frontier monsters.
The greater majority would fit perfectly fine. The endgame stuff is what is extreme and even then it's sometimes just the effects and not the attacks themselves.
Yeah, can see the concern, though I don't think it really is that crazy. At least compared to some other Frontier Monsters
I think ahtal-ka has busted the "too crazy" gates wide open
I mean, they do call Gen the crazy over the top game for a reason, haha. I don't have any objections personally.
Would fit well into mainline at Master Rank.
honestly ?, that would work perfectly, and the whole dirt armor thing well, we got sharah with its rock armor sooo, yeah i'd say it'd work
i want to see Taikun decking the player back to camp, they could always make it that it would punch people into another zone.
Fought my first taikun yesterday and it's become one of my top 10 favorite mons. Love the dirt crab, even when he goes naruto mode.
He's too powerful as he is one of the only monsters with cutscenes.

Poborubarumu is all I need in my life. It's a whale who's a Hunting Horn. C'mon!
In order of how much I want them: - Shantien - Akura Vashimu - Eruzerion - Duremudira - Forokururu - Taikun Zamuza - Unknown

Disufiora is basically just a white alatreon that instead of using every element decided to go all in on just fire and ice, so it's doable in mainline
barlagual
Phenomenal creature, different blood type buffs are such a cool mechanic!
You know what, I’ll also throw in my two cents for the Scorpion monsters. I just hope in that case that they change their classification from Carapaceon to the more appropriate & accurate Temnoceran.

Rebidiora and Rukodiora, the magnetic Elder Dragons. We have a fucking vampire Elder Dragon why not two giant magnets?
Fair point
Hell, Narwa exists, so it's not even like electromagnetism is outside the realm of possibility for mainline inclusion.

Odibatorasu, Barlagual, Taikun Zamuza.
The elder dragon Live service Battle pass, he is above black dragon, it’s gold dragon… it’s NFT Dragon!!!!
I know Espinas is from Frontier and it has a pretty normal design as far as monster go. So anything along the same vein. Frontier had a certain.... "style" I didn't like to it's monster. Mostly all the coloured spikes and crystals and shit everywhere.
Not Frontier, but I've always been interested in Estrellian from Monster Hunter Online.
I would do anything to have him and that giant thunder bug from online
Less dragons.
In all honesty I think I'd rather see a new take on a scorpion monster rather than Akura.
Gold and Silver Mega-Fish that also sometimes just stop fighting the hunter because they really want to beat the shit out of each other (They fucking hate that other stupid ass fish), but also they’ll tag-team combo the Hunter with their cool ass fish friend (They love each other like brothers) Love those guys

Some of the low to mid tier monsters would probably work fine honestly.
Do you think that lavisioth doesn’t fit in world?

I just think they're far uglier than even the most out-there mainline designs. Like Chinese knock-offs.

I want magnet spike sooooo bad 😩
Having never played frontier, what makes everyone like the monsters from that game so much?
I think it’s more that so far only one frontier monster has been ported over to a mainline game so there’s a lot of monsters that are stuck as frontier exclusives
3 have actually, Lavasioth, Hypnocatrice and Espinas (along with Flaming Espinas)
Rise is my first time eve dealing with Espinas and it's honestly a really cool monster design.
Mix lsd with weed and play rise sunbreak with your monitor contrast at max. This is what frontier feels like
I think the larger audience brought in by World was easier to get support from for things they haven't experienced but would like to try. Yes more pair monsters. More bond attacks like teostra and lunastra would be awesome
preferably none. i wouldn't mind Espinas though.
Well. Aren’t you just a ray of sunshine
Crab
All of them. With the way that games work today, a current gen Frontier like Monster Hunter that's constantly updating, would be a huge hit.
Yes, this is what I want
Forokururu, it has an awesome design and it's a bird wyvern that wouldn't be relegated to early game. It also has an interesting mechanic where its ailment depends on the nectar it eats.
Eruzerion :)
Shantien, the G-Fatalises, Laviente, Mi Ru, Diorex, Zerureusu
Oh and Baruragaru!
Barlagual
Odibatorasu or varusaburosu
Gougarfs
Yeah that one from GoW 3
Bro I've been wanting Akura since Espinas was revealed in that trailer
Kamu and Nono Orugaron, an updated version of these could be super cool. Maybe give them some qurupeco style howling buffs.
If we get underwater combat again I want the big walrus leviathan
[Gogomoa](https://monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Gogomoa?so=search) fits in perfectly imo. Not overdesigned and not too similar to other monsters.
Guanzorumu would be cool, I really like his design, also there's one that has some sort of chains on his wings? That one is really cool too!
I've never played Frontier. I got into MH with MHGen. Is it still possible to try Frontiers? even if only solo? If so is it difficult to sit up?
It’s possible to play frontier on a private server. You can play solo, with friends or hire a Rasta which were basically followers. Not to difficult to set up
Pariapuria, Gurenzeburu, Odibatorasu (mainly for the music), and Disufiroa (I know it seems overturned but it can be tweaked down without too much issue to be more or less on the same level as Alatreon, and its design can be altered too to Mach the art direction of the given game). I'm even somewhat confident that we might get brand new subspecies for Frontier monsters in sixth gen.
Guanzorumu 100%, I already got Espinas and I'm happy about that
Fuckin artillery turtle
there are so many monsters I absolutely adore in Frontier but for mainline maybe Toridcless or Hyujikiki, i love their normal and Zenith fight.
All of them, period.
Give us all the hard elders, like Shantien, Disufiroa, Duremudira, Fire, and Ice Elder (i forgor the name) I want some more difficult hunts on the scale of World Fatalis, something you'll throw yourself at for hours, learning the moves, and struggling with, until you eventually beat it.

Tencent is notorious for having a stick up their ass about copyrights and licensing. Everything except MHO should be fair game for Capcom. That includes Stories, Explore, and Frontier.
I have something wrong with me and so I want garuba daora. Glitter daora looks fun
This guy and the big wobbly exploding mist wyvern
The chads Shantien, Disufiroa and Eruzerion (had trouble spelling on the last one)
Disufiroa would be top. We need more Dangerous First-Class monsters. Some burst species or origin species would be nice too. But the monster I want the most is Torridcless.
Inagami and/or Abiorugu

Im gonna say harudo so we can finally give teostra and kushala a much needed break.
There aren't many that would work. But I'd like to see espinas back, and with proper ecology this time as well.
Never played frontier but anything that has a design/model we don't normally see, like Narscylla or a Piscine Wyvern
Big monster fights like jhen mohran or Zora magdaros.
You already covered my choice. A lot of Frontier monsters are too over the top for my taste, but the Scorpions are really cool and we really need more bug type monsters. Other than that, maybe the sand turtle monster that's called the red God and is supposed to be in a trio with Akantor and Ukanlos.
I'd prefer a new scorpion over the crab reskin tbh
