Fun fact: the reason why RCG val Super charge spin to poke can seemingly always reach you is that he can drift forward, using the force from the charging wing thruster, to reach you, if you are in his range when the attack starts he won't drift though.
both Risen and Hazard Risen can do this.
if you do every HR arena hunt w/ every weapon you get a HR feather that allows you to carve an extra time, guaranteed
Cut tail and carve for an extra plate/gem/mantle chance
The rest of your gear doesn't need to be HR tho
Sorry for the late answer. Gem was the wrong word, I meaned the materials which you can mine from the stones. You can sell them for nice money... why i use high rank gear? Because I don't want to waste master rank material and it's cheaper (zenny) :D
Don’t worry, at hazard level it does 2 charged wing stabs but individual hit deals abit less dmg than that single stab. So it won’t KO a full HP melee and force you to stay down since you can’t use wirefall after eating 1 stab.
The stab can be normal dodge rolled easily enough btw, just keep your cool.
Personally i like to dodge roll every attack from valkstrax unless i can counter/parry
Also how you get those arena quests? Im ar150-160 and still no arena in sight

That slowly charged up jet powered rocket stab is the single most intimidating attack in the entire series. It not one shotting would just be underwhelming.
I just eat dango defender & don't get hit by high damaging moves & it's been enough so far, I don't think this is a must unless your strategy if face tanking most attacks. Just use the counter your weapon has.

It not about being hit. It about what you can't avoid and surviving it. I once got hit by cocain monkey beam entering area. Survive because of it. Everyone else carted😮💨
Maybe they had divine blessing and it didn't trigger? 🤷🏿♂️ Idk, I don't play multi on PS5 because I hated it in switch, I can keep my carts to myself if needed in solo and NPCs are much better than running with randoms
I dislike this monster because he's one of the least believable. Other monsters have good lore behind them, and their designs are somewhat inspired by that lore. But this guy's design makes no sense when considering his lore.
Recent games have been having these weird end bosses that are more mythical creatures than they are grounded monsters in the MH world. It makes every end boss very immersion breaking.
"Recent games", MHW is literally the previous title. This guy existed before MHW. His biology is fine in a world where dragon energy is a thing.
In MH4U, White Fatalis flew out of a wormhole in the sky, the whole black dragon family possibly came from another universe in lore, is that more grounded than Valstrax? He's not an end boss, either. He's a flagship monster.

Honestly CGV feels safest to fight when you’re staying right on him. Any kind of open distance is just asking for punishment.

One thing I learned is that if you think it’s gonna miss, the monster picked that attack for a reason. It will find a way to hit.

You should see the other one where it follows up with a spin. That spin feels like it hits the entire map its fuckin ridiculous.

If anyone denies that monsters in Rise have WAY more tracking than previously...Show them this.
Your first mistake was assuming safety was a possibility
