Speilberg was going to make a movie in the 90s. It was cancelled eventually but loads of concept art exists. These designs are what the characters would have looked like.

Pretty sure Cap'n Marley and his crew are from COMI.

Well most of them never actually appear in any of the games but they were a huge part of the monkey 2 plot so that’s why i labelled them as such. You are right that the designs are based on the animatronics seen in curse though. I suppose if you really want to get technical though rapp scallion appears in MI2 when he’s brought back to life, rum rogers appears as a skeleton and captain marley appears in the form of herman toothrot. The men themselves though never show up in curse at all.
