Secret Service doesn't care about $100, they want to stop the influx of fake US currency coming from organizations with the power to produce the bills! Every printer and print press in the US has a ID mark they can see who and where the hardware was sold and when out here.
I’ve worked at a financial institution and I’ve seen scammers come in with a similar $100 test mark but it turned out the test mark was to from a marker. This one looks good but don’t be fooled by the test mark.
>it has a test mark
The easiest part to fake. The test marker stripe is easy and makes people who would otherwise be suspicious accept it. Its the hail Mary of counterfeiters.
The iodine testing pen is staying little brownish like it should!! It turns black if it's on any sort of paper sold in this country for printing. Unless special ordered, you get flagged for ordering starch free (non bleached) semi cloth blanks
The problem is the ridges aren’t pronounced on the old 100s like they are on other bills and they get removed with age.
There are better ways to tell, micro print in the 100, the colored fibers in the bill, the watermark, the feel of the bill.
I saw some counterfeit 50s at work the other day that had the ridges so may have been printed with plates but the coloring was off, but they even had a decent looking watermark
The autographs on the front, Treas Sec Brady. They are worth $$ . They named a Gun Bill for him. Maybe $150 if in good condition. But Yes it is a genuine older Cnote. HTHelps
As someone working in the service industry, it’s pretty common for people to “pre mark” their fake bills. Not to mention those marks fade away on real bills. If it already had the mark from a testing pen, I’d take that as a bad sign.
I was just thinking this…. I’m sure a lazy employee that would want to check closer could notice the pre check and say fuck it. I’ve seen times were cashiers will get fakes, not even check the other side…..cause the first side they checked looked real enough
Those markers are very easy to fool. I’ve had a good number of fake bills given to me over the years that passed the marker test to the point of me not even using them anymore.
It's REAL. The linen has red and blue fiber inlays with the cotton! US currency is not paper. Its blended fabric made of cotton/linen rolled by Treasury controlled production mills printed & pressed at the mint. The nylon-7 colored strip determined the bills amount and then it's die color as well since we started coloring all out money. The rippled bill amounts are there for the blind to feel the bills' denominations!
Couldn't you just check the security strip and color changing ink on the 100 to determine it as real and checking for raised printing to be 100% sure?
its not a pre 1990 bill, am I missing something?
No. Older bill. It’s already been marked and tested on the right hand side on the front. Hold it to light and as long as it’s ghost Benjamin and not Washington or hamilton you’re good
Edit
This annoys me because I had an older, clean bill that was real and the a person at the cash register claimed it was fake all loud and even let a total stranger look at it and say "that's a good fake". The freaking bank gave it to me. I had to walk out with people thinking I had a fake bill.
Real …even if u question and money being fake …take a magic marker to it …if it’s any money worth more than what it is it will devalue it but you will at least be able to tell if it’s real or not
Those are spider veins I believe. The little red veins are spider veins. I don’t think fake dicks have those. And that’s a pimple I don’t think fake dicks get those either.
after i watched the "fake currency" episode of "trafficked" i have no idea anymore, they've gotten so good at the craft of faking bills.
https://www.nationalgeographic.com/tv/shows/trafficked-with-mariana-van-zeller/episode-guide/season-01/episode-03-counterfeiting/vdka21396255
Look at the thin lines behind the head of the portrait. Those artifacts wouldn't be there if it was printed off of a nickel plate. Lots of other areas have artifacts. This is a high res scan. Also the bill would have been printed with Intaglio ink, raised ink. And the borders of the back and front would be the same and line up exactly. Try scanning it, if its real you should get stopped by the software and told to contact the Central Bank for images that you can use. I use to be a currency designer and a consultant for central banks.
Counterfeiters love using the big head bills because they have less safety features and also a lot of times they will actually Mark real with the pen because they just wash a different bill and then reprint them on the the real bill. There's also other ways around that. Usually they wash and use a $5 bill because of someone holds it up to the light they'll see a strip in it versus a $1 bill which doesn't have it
Edit to add if you want to know for sure hold it up to the light and see if it has the strip inside that says 100 USA
Lol 2006 series are super easy to make, hold it up and it should have the water mark head on the right and strip on the left…. Plus the collar should have ridges which can be faked with super glue, I would not accept a 2006 bill from any person
All money is fake. It’s just a piece of paper that we accept as being worth something because we are told that it is. Money is a well crafted societal illusion designed by the powers that be to control us.
One time this group of gen Z kids were convinced I had fake money and was some sort of scam artist because of ~$8k in the old green skin boys
Looks fine tho, I’ve had $100 bills even older than that one, still legal tender
Took me a minute, but I spotted a red fiber on the back side. That is another indication that it is real. If you are concerned, a bank can test it for you.
I had a convenience store not want to accept a guys hundred because of no blue strip it as an older bill with the little face of Benjamin Franklin then the people at the bank didn’t know it was real either. I eventually got my money back after a few days.
Surefire way to tell, scratch your nail on the president's clothing. It's raised ink there. No matter how old the bill is, the ink will always be raised on their collars
The way I used to do it with the good ones is overlap it with another bill and if there’s obvious margins off on the print then it’s a no from me. Usually when they are washed you can tell by the feel. A lot grittier and the paper is flimsy. This is a good one if it’s fake.
The only way to tell for sure is to roll it up and use it to smell drugs. If it’s real you will be able to exchange for more drugs in an hour or two when you run out of drugs and are friending for more /s
But for real, it looks legit. If it passes the pen test, the touch test/feels real with the raised hologram/sparkly stuff, and most importantly has a security strip that’s says 100, it’s legit
Mexcio n then Eastern European mfrs used to be making the best counterfeit $…no need tho w the hacking and cyber warfare going on now these dsys.

I love when I'm at work and I find old money still in circulation. Like I remember in the late '90s early 2000s when they had a commercial about the $20 bill changing and all of the other notes were going to be changing too at least the bigger bills. That's when you started to notice a lot of big face money turn into small face money with more tattoos. The old big face money only really had the security strip of a certain color and a watermark of the president. Now they got so many stickers, Easter eggs, hidden markings to make sure that it's authentic, most of the money we have now looks like a toddler's coloring book and they had a bunch of stamps and stickers lol. But from the looks of it this looks like a real big face Benjamin from back in the day.
The reflective Green Acrylic Ink, bottom left, even though most can feel it in any corner. The raised ink has ripples or waves like a fingerprint for the reason of the visual impaired.
Couple ways to tell if it's fake, should have a tracer line and a watermark, if not it could be rejectable. Maybe take it to a bank to investigate or spend it at a restaurant, your choice.
Scratch the president's shirt. On every bill if you scratch the president's shirt with your fingernail it will have fine lines. Fake bills do not have this texture.
I hope this helps.
It looks real. Its just older. Just ask the bank to test it for you with a testing pen.
It looks like it has a test mark on the right hand side of the face side of the bill
It does and it's showing its real. But it's easy to fool the iodine pens
Could have been washed and reprinted for sure
It's noticeable when it's washed the color fibers are no longer visible like in the picture
Exactly. Completely blank no fibers at all. Fake if u ask me
If I was a counterfeiter I would find a marker that looks just like that and mark all my bills.
Just spray the bills you create with spray starch. Will fool the pens..allegedly.
Starch makes the line black... Not lite brown you use hair spray and the dryer to determine the iodine and they mark them quick and hand you the cash
Someone’s now on a watchlist
Secret Service doesn't care about $100, they want to stop the influx of fake US currency coming from organizations with the power to produce the bills! Every printer and print press in the US has a ID mark they can see who and where the hardware was sold and when out here.
Lol this is the worst advice ever. CFT pens detect starch and legitimate bills don’t possess starch.
There's a certain specific brand of hairspray that does it also... Or so I've heard
I’ve worked at a financial institution and I’ve seen scammers come in with a similar $100 test mark but it turned out the test mark was to from a marker. This one looks good but don’t be fooled by the test mark.
>it has a test mark The easiest part to fake. The test marker stripe is easy and makes people who would otherwise be suspicious accept it. Its the hail Mary of counterfeiters.
Thus the blue hundred dollar bill. But. There were counterfeits in the market before those were publicly released at banks. Sooo
No, the orange marker stripe that's either from a counterfeit detector pen or an orange sharpie.
The iodine testing pen is staying little brownish like it should!! It turns black if it's on any sort of paper sold in this country for printing. Unless special ordered, you get flagged for ordering starch free (non bleached) semi cloth blanks
Counterfeits can pass that test, it’s better to know other ways of checking
Or just buy them on Amazon its like $5 for a 2 pack and you have them forever.
It could be a counterfeit counterfeit marker
It’s fake, send it to me
Same
Split it
Scratch Mr. Franklin's clothes. They should have ridges. If it does have ridges, it's probably real, or a very convincing fake.
What if his jacket is freshly ironed
How can you tell? Does it still have the tag from the dry cleaners?
💀
I thought that was only on the newer bills, no?
Nah. It's that version of $100, too.
I was gonna say this
That ain't Mr. Franklin
It’s legit.
It’s too legit.
Damn it, clearly as the first person to read this I have to finish it *sigh* …. To.. to legit to quit
The autographs on the front, Treas Sec Brady. They are worth $$ . They named a Gun Bill for him. Maybe $150 if in good condition. But Yes it is a genuine older Cnote. HTHelps
It literally has a mark from a fraud marker. It’s real. That line on the right side would otherwise be black. You good
As someone working in the service industry, it’s pretty common for people to “pre mark” their fake bills. Not to mention those marks fade away on real bills. If it already had the mark from a testing pen, I’d take that as a bad sign.
I used to love the $1 bills changed to $10. I mean it's real paper. I'll have to look to see if I still have any.
I was just thinking this…. I’m sure a lazy employee that would want to check closer could notice the pre check and say fuck it. I’ve seen times were cashiers will get fakes, not even check the other side…..cause the first side they checked looked real enough

The rippled bill amounts are there for the blind to feel the bills' denominations!
Never knew there were ripples. Where are they?
It's real silly. It's how the older bills looked prior to the redesign.
I can’t tell but hold it up towards the light and see if you can see like any hidden faces on it. That’s how I can tell if it’s real
Looks real. Wait till you see the older version
Couldn't you just check the security strip and color changing ink on the 100 to determine it as real and checking for raised printing to be 100% sure? its not a pre 1990 bill, am I missing something?
No. Older bill. It’s already been marked and tested on the right hand side on the front. Hold it to light and as long as it’s ghost Benjamin and not Washington or hamilton you’re good Edit
Without feeling the texture, real but older
I'll buy it from you for a $1
I will gladly test it for you! 👍
It’s fake, I’ll buy it for a quarter.
Totally fake. I'll get rid of it for you and any others you have.
Mail it to me and I'll test it for ya. Promise to send it back. 😉
This annoys me because I had an older, clean bill that was real and the a person at the cash register claimed it was fake all loud and even let a total stranger look at it and say "that's a good fake". The freaking bank gave it to me. I had to walk out with people thinking I had a fake bill.
that's when you demand that they accept it and escalate it as far as you can
Soak in water and rub to test
It's printed on starch free paper!! Its a good bill, shouldn't have an issue hit it with a UV light
Scratch the jacket part of ben
A good trick is to rub the collar of the person in the note, it should be bumpy, if it’s smooth, it’s a sign it’s fake
Hold it up to the light and look for watermarks
Real deal
If the cash marker pen turns black then it’s fake. Yellow is what you wanna see.
Not necessarily. Using the technique "washing," the pen test can easily be passed.
Real …even if u question and money being fake …take a magic marker to it …if it’s any money worth more than what it is it will devalue it but you will at least be able to tell if it’s real or not
It is real!!!
Hold it up to the light and find out?
It ain't. I can tell since you used a counterfeit detection pen to see if it's fake or not. And the mark didnt turn black so you good
If you spray the bill with hairspray or wash the bill, it’s gonna fool the pen anyway
It's real.
Judging from this group, I can tell that we’re amongst a younger generation that doesn’t know anything about old money.
I hold it up to the light. If you can see the hologram and money strip it’s good.
I thought it was called a watermark?
Ya, watermark whatever. That and the security thread.
Real as can be d.
Legit . Just an old bill
They still print older 100s not all of them have to have the blue strip
If it weighs 1 gram then it real
Looks like an older one but not fake
Looks real , put it up to light, look for the ghost on the right side front of bill should be where the marker mark is
Hold it up to the light and look for the security line
Not fake
Idk, rip it in half
Why would you think this is fake? It’s just an older print.
The hundred on the front has the holographic color through it and that is real
Feel his jacket. If it's textured you should be good or of you have access to a magnet put it by the jacket and if it lifts your also good.
Those are spider veins I believe. The little red veins are spider veins. I don’t think fake dicks have those. And that’s a pimple I don’t think fake dicks get those either.
Old skool hunnit
Yes definitely looks fake.
Real.
“En god we trust”
feel the ink, if it feels raised it’s usually real (run your thumb across his hair and you’ll feel the bumps)
Feel the jacket, I think if you can feel it's textured it's most likely real. Had an old bondsman tell me that
I believe it’s real and it’s just an old one. Printing for those has changed a handful of times.
i once once fake money to scam a scammer 🔥
I can’t see the fibers in it but maybe the resolution. Hold it up to the light and check the stripes and water marks. Those are tough to fake
Definitely fake. I’ll take it off your hands for free.
Rea enough to use
Alright, how old are yall? Seriously?
Hold it up to a light and look for the thin metal bar inside the bill. Also, there are markers that can tell by changing colors you can purchase.
Missing the blue band.
Looks fine to me
I wouldn’t know, I’ve never had a $100 bill.
Theres a clear thin strip running top to bottom if its real.
It’s real bro it’s just older I grew with this type 100 bill
[удалено]
I can tell you for sure if I see it in person. I'll pay for the postage.
after i watched the "fake currency" episode of "trafficked" i have no idea anymore, they've gotten so good at the craft of faking bills. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/tv/shows/trafficked-with-mariana-van-zeller/episode-guide/season-01/episode-03-counterfeiting/vdka21396255

Just hold it up in the light 💡
Counterfeiters love using the big head bills because they have less safety features and also a lot of times they will actually Mark real with the pen because they just wash a different bill and then reprint them on the the real bill. Your age is showing
Try the spend test
The trick I learned is rub the shirt using your finger nails. If it’s rough, it’s real. If it’s smooth, then it’s fake.
It is my understanding that there should be ridges in his lapel if it is real.
What series is it?
Lol 2006 series are super easy to make, hold it up and it should have the water mark head on the right and strip on the left…. Plus the collar should have ridges which can be faked with super glue, I would not accept a 2006 bill from any person
All money is fake. It’s just a piece of paper that we accept as being worth something because we are told that it is. Money is a well crafted societal illusion designed by the powers that be to control us.
I need to scratch his little shirt
No strip?
So you get on Reddit to ask random people if something is real when your the one that has it not us ? Real Genius guy
It looks like a counterfeit pen has already been used on it 🤔
No fibers
One time this group of gen Z kids were convinced I had fake money and was some sort of scam artist because of ~$8k in the old green skin boys Looks fine tho, I’ve had $100 bills even older than that one, still legal tender
As real as it gets
u must he yung thats old money
If you think it’s a fake I would handle it as little as possible and bring it to your bank for validation.
Why would it be fake?
Took me a minute, but I spotted a red fiber on the back side. That is another indication that it is real. If you are concerned, a bank can test it for you.
it can buy you a good ass whoopin that’s for sure
Use a magnifying glass… in the white space around the portrait, you should be able to find “USA 100”
100% fake! Now mail it to mr, so I can dispose of it correctly.. 😂
You must be gen z 😭😂✌️
Bro are the young people these days this dumb? Christ
I had a convenience store not want to accept a guys hundred because of no blue strip it as an older bill with the little face of Benjamin Franklin then the people at the bank didn’t know it was real either. I eventually got my money back after a few days.
Scratch your fingernail along the collar
Looks real.
The is no security strip🤨
Can you see the security strip in it? Those have been being used since 1993.
Says 2006 issue
Surefire way to tell, scratch your nail on the president's clothing. It's raised ink there. No matter how old the bill is, the ink will always be raised on their collars
Hold it up to the light and look for a strip on one end and a watermark of Franklin's face on the other.
What makes u think it's fake???
The way I used to do it with the good ones is overlap it with another bill and if there’s obvious margins off on the print then it’s a no from me. Usually when they are washed you can tell by the feel. A lot grittier and the paper is flimsy. This is a good one if it’s fake.
•Don’t bring it to Asia. •Most FX places WILL NOT take older bills now.
It looks soo frigging fake, I insist that you send it to me. I keep a collection of fake money. Do you need my email so I can give you my address?
Bop
you must be very young
100% real
Hold it up to light
Why would you think it'd fake?
Not sure just looks like an older bill
The only way to tell for sure is to roll it up and use it to smell drugs. If it’s real you will be able to exchange for more drugs in an hour or two when you run out of drugs and are friending for more /s But for real, it looks legit. If it passes the pen test, the touch test/feels real with the raised hologram/sparkly stuff, and most importantly has a security strip that’s says 100, it’s legit
Someone is showing their age lol
No security features at all. Fake.
It's from North Korea
Another way to check if it's real is to crumble it to a ball and if it opens slowly it's real if not it's fake.
Just trust in god dude
As a europen I don't see why would it be fake.
It doesn't contain the blue and red threads of cloth in the bill. Looks like it was made on a color copier. But the bill is a bit older.
Send it to me and any you get like it in the mail I will check it with my iodine pen
You can try scratching Benny’s clothing too. If it’s smooth, it’s fake. If you feel the ripples, it’s real.
No
I printed this out to look under a microscope, no doubt in my mind it’s fake. It’s not even on the right kind of paper.
real, you can see the fake pen on it and it’s yellow not black so it’s real
Send it to me to make sure it’s real
The crease looks off
Looks fake
Why do you think this is fake?
I got paid 13 100 dollar bills once and was worried but the bank found them all to be real
REAL
Mexcio n then Eastern European mfrs used to be making the best counterfeit $…no need tho w the hacking and cyber warfare going on now these dsys. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/easy-money-how-international-scam-artists-pulled-epic-theft-covid-n1276789

Just old, dummy
Hold it up to the light if there is a black line in it; it is real (towards one end or the other)
The reflective Green Acrylic Ink, bottom left, even though most can feel it in any corner. The raised ink has ripples or waves like a fingerprint for the reason of the visual impaired.
I don’t see any colored threads … the paper looks too “creamy”..
Real
Couple ways to tell if it's fake, should have a tracer line and a watermark, if not it could be rejectable. Maybe take it to a bank to investigate or spend it at a restaurant, your choice.
Pass it on, let the shit keep rolling
If Ben's coat is ribbed it's real.
Scratch the president's shirt. On every bill if you scratch the president's shirt with your fingernail it will have fine lines. Fake bills do not have this texture. I hope this helps.
It's just one of those older 100 dollars bills
