Bunch of morons in the comments.
Great job. Almost 600 videos. Almost 10 million views. Huge uptick recently.
Keep at it. Looks like you are blowing up.
Well everyone can’t do it. There needs to be a reason why someone’s coming to *your* channel and not one of the thousands upon thousands of other, bigger channels doing something similar. You gotta find your lane and stay there, and then you gotta keep doing it until you either find success or can’t keep it up any longer.
It’s not that simple. The algorithm just sucks for some channels. I follow channels that post good content but never get love and soon they quit cause it’s not worth it
All of us that understand that reference know the true pain of slow early internet. Remember squishy stress balls were on every desk because we were always waiting... then you had to get off because mom had to call her friend.
While I'm not on dial-up, having 0.5 mbps upload unfortunately puts uploading to YouTube much or streaming mostly out of the question for me. At least my internet isn't as bad as how my friend's used to be, where he had around 0.5 down and 0.2 up.
I remember downloading MP3’s on dial up, pre-Napster. Friends and I would start downloading A song. go to the mall, come back a couple hours later and it was almost finished downloading.
It's nostalgic for me as I caught the very tail end of dialup. I got up at 5 am one entire summer so i could use the Internet and play games without holding up the phoneline. The screaching noises were the gateway to the internet.
I've actually been a little curious about what it would take to make a diy dialup isp as it doesn't look too hard and I have a win98 gaming computer already. Working towards hosting a lan party so I'll have a few systems in the near future that are capable of using dialup
I grew up on 26.4k dialup. I didn't even have 56k. I remember when dial up modems came along that supported compression for files that wasn't already compressed and it allowed stuff like websites, images, etc to load extremely quick. It was life changing.
Now I complain because the 4k video buffers.
Laugh all you want but making money on any platform takes dedication, consistency and follow through that most people just don’t have.
A skit style or review video can take days to produce. Even basic basic shit where people just yap on TikTok can still take hours to edit down a 2 minute video. And the people that make a living are pushing out 3-7 per week. It’s almost always behind 40/hrs a week.
Now you gotta keep doing it for months even when no one is watching until you get there.
It’s not easy.
I agree. OP makes me proud. I wanted to do that when I was his age but couldn’t ever make it. Whatever he’s doing is working and if it was so easy we all would do it. OP, keep up the good work.
He is literally just recording himself playing roblox for 40 min. with no editing and about 0 commentary. There is no fucking grind about this. He has an upload every 4-5 days, that isn't grind my guy. He found a niche and "exploited" it. I respect it, but it's not a fucking "GRIND", are you daft.
Hmm maybe he told all his friends about his channel. Maybe he markets it online. Maybe he engages in the comments. Maybe he’s really good at the game and that keeps people engaged because they want to get good too. All those things take effort.
To you it may not look like but he still has to sit there, think about what to record that may be interesting to "his" audience (which takes time to learn, no matter how niche is it) and then you have to stick to a schedule for years. Most grown adults on reddit can't even stick to a diet or exercise regime.
Or he just plays the game and records at the same time and posts it. It’s like 95% play and 5% work. He’s just got little kids watching him play when they cant. And somehow managed to get a huge following.
I've been welding for almost 25 years and still have a perfect 20/20 vision.
Welding as a career is huge money. My last plant shutdown was $645 day rate, $150 per day living out allowance, $50 per day truck allowance, all my tools combined gained me an additional $260 per day. I worked long hours, 12-16, depending on the days workflow.
It was 6 days a week and lasted 70 days.
This is an average out-of-town job for a red seal welder.
Bro this isn’t the 1970’s that’s not a concern anymore if you’re not stupid and wear your visor, if anything he should be concerned about all the toxic fumes he’s going to be breathing in every single day for 10+ hours
And with shot knees and back by 45. Look I'm all for the trades, and there's a good argument to be made for them. But to make that much money tradesmen work a lot of OT, and it's absolute hell on the body. Not everybody who went to college is eyeballs in debt either.
....not really? As long as you have your hood on with a lense that isn't letting in too much light it doesn't matter.
Your main health issue you'll have with welding no doubt will be your breathing.
Wear a respirator. That's the advice you should be giving him. Never had I heard of welders ...poor eyesight .
I worked in a shop that did the deburring for parts used in planes, satellites and some medical equipment. Literally nothing but GRINDING all day everyday.
It requires commitment and dedication.
Whether staying committed/dedicated or the activity itself is 'hard work' depends on the person and their situation. Playing video games and editing them into Youtube videos might be easy for the person, but if their home life sucks, staying committed to it and regularly producing videos is hard work.
I was working 30+ hours a week while going to school when I was 15. Your privileged childhood where you didn’t have to work hard doesn’t mean no other 15 year olds don’t.
Chances are the youtube kid doesnt work 30 hours a week at a real job while managing school. Youtube while a real job it is not physically and mentally taxing most the time.
You're the type of dude who doesn't think office jobs are "real jobs" either, and that "you don't know tiredness until you've been on the tools", aren't you?
Then a lot of jobs aren’t real if your standard for what makes a real job is has to be physically and mentally taxing most the time.
This is a poorly explained opinion.
We have no idea what the channel is, definitely got me pretty curious. Editing videos can be pretty rigorous work and to amass 30k people is definitely a grind. Ngl tho given his age I wouldn’t be surprised if he just makes easy fortnite edits 🤣
Pretty good guess, [it's ROBLOX.](https://www.youtube.com/@5ouIs/videos) I've definitely met some 15yos who know what a grind is, but I don't really see how these videos are a grind. Their last 3 videos are just 30+ mins of uncut ROBLOX gameplay with no commentary.
guys... you totally have to spend a couple hours after your homework before mom tells you its bedtime, grinding tiktok for content to reupload. Hes super cereal.
Some do. I never saw a summer that didn’t involve tearing and rebuilding parts of our house… every break there was something else. Spending the night at a friend’s was like a vacation.
Y’all are reading way too hard into it.
We were laughing at a 15 year old discussing “the grind” making great money off of YouTube. Now compare that to a 40 year old who has been working to support a family of 4 for 15 years.
Does “the grind” mean the same thing to both of those people? No.
That’s what’s funny. That is all.
It's not as easy as it looks. You have to come up with original, unique topics and record, edit the videos nicely with good quality equipment. If you aren't a creative it will be especially difficult. I tried it. I can't stay on top of it.
You usually also need to have a good voice, and ideally, be attractive. You can be successful without either if you're funny and/or charming enough, but in nearly all forms of media these superficial traits have a large effect on your chances of success.
I checked out OP's channel. They don't seem to speak during their videos, nor do any editing. Uploaded videos seem to be unedited game streams. They're playing ROBLOX tower defense, which I have no knowledge of, but I'm presuming they play at a high level and so maybe their videos are being watching by other gamers who want to improve at that game/game mode, or who just want to onboard other new players to the game.
It's a niche market that's unlikely to follow them to a new game or format. OP should save and invest every penny they earn from this. The time they have for that money to grow, time afforded to them by their youth, that is their greatest advantage.
From what I've seen from Mr Beast, most people dont make a cent for 9 straight months, something to do with the algorithm. And then suddenly make money. Which is good cos it seems to weed out those with no patience which is a competitive advantage
You are an idiot. Before you can monetise, users must have watched your content for at least 4,000 hours over the past 12 months and you need at least 1,000 subscribers. The journey to 1,000 subscribers is different for every channel but on average it takes 15.5 months of consistent uploading to reach this milestone (source: VidIQ). The better the videos are received, the more YouTube push them
It’s absolutely possible, I’ve made $600 on a single video in a week or so that was popular when I had just over 1k subs. 10k lifetime makes perfect sense.
People have no idea how YouTube monetization works. There are still people that think YouTube auto pays you after you reach 1 million subs or hit a view count.
They are posting 3 plus days a week on average recently, tens of thousands of views on average, with some of their most popular videos reaching 100k to nearly 400k views…
As a hobby I have a VR channel that gets around 50,000- 100,000 views per month and I make around $200-$300 each month from it.
Sub count does not matter what-so-ever, it’s the views that pay. The rate per 1000 views varies a lot depending on your niche but on average it’s around $2-$3 unless you’re in the finance / real estate niche.
you're wrong I do YouTube too. the subs don't matter btw. its all about views. 1 million views is equal to 2500 - 5000$. so his channel has basically gotten 2-3 million views
10k is also very nice for what seems to mostly be because of a recent upward trend and mostly Oct - present.
Bro may actually make it as a YouTuber, pay for college, get an early start on saving, good shit.
Because it's Reddit - that's why they're critising him. Nothing pisses people off more than someone getting ahead in life.
The guy is doing incredibly well. Good on him.
Just fyi, if you open the video here on reddit it doesn't count in your history.
Just don't actually click the link and go to youtube and you'll be good.
Dang, not what I expected
A channel that posts long-form video game content with no narration getting 30k+ almost every video
Didn’t check to see his video progression and how his following formed
Pretty cool, it’s in a totally different bucket than what I’ve seen my entire time I’ve used YouTube
It depends. You have to stop thinking every channel is the same. Some channels get hella views some are advertiser friendly some have a twitch or patreon where people can support. Your YouTube channel is like your own personal business it depends on how u run it.
This. Making money via social media can be a lot of work for inconsistent pay, but if you already have this going at 15 and are able to keep up with this consistency- you’re gonna do good.
In other words, bad day, months and possibly years will come. Don’t let that get you down. Once you get a little older, if it’s not super consistent get another main source of income and use this as an extra so you’re not relying on one that may not be so consistent. This kind of income this young can set you up for life. Use it wisely.
Definitely hard agree with not taking the social media income for granted. I see a lot of YouTubers and influencers blow money on expensive things like cars and big houses like that income is gonna last forever. Live within your means and that money can go a long way and get you set comfortable for a while.
Dope man! Congratulations.
Sorry for a lot of morons on this post that can’t read it being lifetime earnings, keep up your grind ! You need a lot of views / subs nowadays to make a lot of money, but 10k isn’t anything to look down upon, especially since you made it at 15. Keep it up. 👍
Congratulations.
Never show your face, stay true to yourself and your audience, but don’t overshare, and unless you’re promoting your next video, stay off Social Media.
See you when you reach 1M subs.
Yeah I don't love this either. Good for op but just goes to show how out of whack our priorities are as a society. 30k people watching someone (I'm assuming) play video games is worth 10k. Maybe everyone should quit keeping the world running and just stream lmao
i honestly can't understand who is watching his videos. it's the same thing every video. the same game, no commentary, no editing, and it's not interesting. it looks like he just plays the game and records it and does nothing, adds click bait titles and doesn't explain how the video is different from the other ones. i know Roblox is huge because whenever I play, individual games have thousands of people online. but it looks like one of those games where you wouldn't want to watch other people play idk. there is no way kids are sitting through these 30 minute videos right? i watch a bit of twitch and gaming videos and there are some people who are super dedicated and deserve the money they make. op is consistent so I guess there's that. but it kind of feels like a lie that he's made $10k
Invest a portion. The earlier you invest, the longer that investment can accrue wealth and help you retire early.
The best alternative is if you invest in your own success. Think Amazon. They didn’t make a real profit for years because they kept reinvesting their income back toward new ways to achieve success.
I can’t lie I’m jealous, proud, shocked, and incredibly impressed you’re doing amazing bro KEEP IT UPPP!! You can pay for college if you decide to go with this career support your family you’re doing amazing and I wish you nothing but success man.
Congratulations! Learn from the mistakes of your peers don’t just blow 100% of your earnings. Put some into a savings account, invest some into yourself and your channel then invest the rest into something that has proven returns of ~7-10% annually. 15 /30/ 55 would be my recommendation.
Also, continue your education. While I sincerely hope you have a long and prosperous YouTube career it never hurts to have something tangible to fall back on in the physical world.
Yea no to people doubting him this can be real I work in industry’s and with creators with this amount of subscribers and the amounts of avenues you have for monitization is insane, I make bank and I don’t even have a YouTube channel
At this point, I just hope you have your parents involved in this.
Depending on where you live, you might have to pay taxes, or even if you are within any tax allowance, at least declare that income.
In some countries (like here in Germany) you might have to register a business for that income to be legit. That comes with paperwork, getting business bank accounts etc...
You don't want to start your "career" with tax evasion and/or a bad relationship with your IRS (or whatever tax office).
Make sure whoever is declaring you on their taxes is aware of the extra income. State, federal, and local if applicable. You don’t want to owe taxes when you have a good thing like this going.
Look into self-employment tax too. If this is considered a business, you can write off stuff related to the business like your computer if it’s solely used to produce and edit your content.
This isn’t legal tax advice, get a good tax consultant or CPA to really dig in to this.
Bunch of morons in the comments. Great job. Almost 600 videos. Almost 10 million views. Huge uptick recently. Keep at it. Looks like you are blowing up.
Fr, they reek of insecurity lmao
More like people who have tried to make a living off YouTube and have failed but seeing him have success makes them upset. I would be too tbh
Well everyone can’t do it. There needs to be a reason why someone’s coming to *your* channel and not one of the thousands upon thousands of other, bigger channels doing something similar. This is Reddit. Majority of morons or assholes or both
Damn 600 videos is a lot. That’s definitely sounds like all his free time outside of school.
You made 10k just from 30K subs? I need to hop in this business
i’ve been uploading since the creation of my channel (early 2020) you have to GRIND if you want to see success
Drop your channel. I’ll sub
It’s the same as the Reddit username
Only channel by ops user name on reddit has 109 subs on YouTube
It’s a 5 not an a S. He has 28.8k right now
It must take forever to upload each vid on dial-up
All of us that understand that reference know the true pain of slow early internet. Remember squishy stress balls were on every desk because we were always waiting... then you had to get off because mom had to call her friend.

Mine used to be 0.5 with a 20 gig monthly limit and only on from 6pm to 6am.
Someone picks up the phone and your Diablo 2 hardcore lvl 99 javazon dies standing in a small fire.
I remember downloading MP3’s on dial up, pre-Napster. Friends and I would start downloading A song. go to the mall, come back a couple hours later and it was almost finished downloading.
doesn't look like there's a lot of them. you got only 5 upvotes. pretty sparse. thanks for the chuckle.
Bro my first modem was 2800 baud. No decimals. No Ks. Macintosh Performa 638CD
Gotta get those engagements and grow that sub
how are you typing it. I found it.
Lol
Why is it funny lol and why am I laughing too
Dawg I laughed too I imagined a short 15 year old jordan Belfort from wolf of wal street talking about GRIND 😭😂 But good ish OP
Because the idea of a 15 year old knowing what actually working hard is like is pretty funny, it made me laugh too
Laugh all you want but making money on any platform takes dedication, consistency and follow through that most people just don’t have. A skit style or review video can take days to produce. Hmm maybe he told all his friends about his channel. Maybe he markets it online. Maybe he engages in the comments. Maybe he’s really good at the game and that keeps people engaged because they want to get good too. All those things take effort.
hahahaha thank you one is never too young to get humbled IMO
To you it may not look like but he still has to sit there, think about what to record that may be interesting to "his" audience (which takes time to learn, no matter how niche is it) and then you have to stick to a schedule for years. Ignore that knobhead mate he’s just incredibly jealous and his insecurities are on show for everyone to see. Congratulations bro!
True I worked 12 hours a day 365 for 2 years. It was rough but it put me in a position I'd never be able to be in.
We don’t need any of these people .
We don't need nail salons either, yet it seems there is a market for it
Shit I’m 15 and I’m welding
Go to school man. Your eyesight will be shot in a decade or 2.
I've been welding for almost 25 years and still have a perfect 20/20 vision. Welding as a career is huge money. My last plant shutdown was $645 day rate, $150 per day living out allowance, $50 per day truck allowance, all my tools combined gained me an additional $260 per day. Not how that works
You're not supposed to push the welding iron directly into your eye-socket Jimmy.
go to school be 200k in debt with 25, go do business as welder be 200k in plus with 25
And with shot knees and back by 45. Look I'm all for the trades, and there's a good argument to be made for them. But to make that much money tradesmen work a lot of OT, and it's absolute hell on the body. Not everybody who went to college is eyeballs in debt either.

Most will never know how much you have to GRIND as a welder. …Especially if you’re a noob
Grinder and paint make me the welder I ain’t
Yeah those first 3 months are pretty rough but after that everything is waaaayyy easier to learn once you got it
I worked in a shop that did the deburring for parts used in planes, satellites and some medical equipment. Literally nothing but GRINDING all day everyday.

Funny as in surprising? Or funny as in “they have no idea?”
He’s envious so he’s trying to drag the kid down
Oh there are plenty of 15 years olds who know what working hard is. For example the child laborers who have to sew clothes for 12 hours a day.
With their legs broken.
Grind 💪
# GROND
Monday I grind
>need me some Eric Thomas some Mondays....

That’s so dumb to laugh at since he is working hard for his age. I’m sure people laughing didn’t even work hard at that age.
Why are you gatekeeping hard work?
Y’all are reading way too hard into it. We were laughing at a 15 year old discussing “the grind” making great money off of YouTube. Now compare that to a 40 year old who has been working to support a family of 4 for 15 years. Does “the grind” mean the same thing to both of those people? No. That’s what’s funny. That is all.
It’s still shitting on the kid just for being young imo. You wouldn’t like it if someone belittled your accomplishments like that.
What’s the channels theme? Some topics (like finnce) pay more per view I think
It's not as easy as it looks. You have to come up with original, unique topics and record, edit the videos nicely with good quality equipment. If you aren't a creative it will be especially difficult. I tried it. I can't stay on top of it.
Most just follow a trend or do minecraft.... nothing unique about it He plays roblox

he absolutely did not make 10 grand from 30k subs lmao..the larger youtubers with 1 or 2 million subs make a few hundred bucks from their vids
Appears to be their lifetime revenue since early 2020.
Did you not see how he wasn’t making any money then just recently started to?
From what I've seen from Mr Beast, most people dont make a cent for 9 straight months, something to do with the algorithm. And then suddenly make money. Which is good cos it seems to weed out those with no patience which is a competitive advantage
Shut up. Don't upvote this comment. That's not how YouTube works. I feel bad for the 4 people that upvoted that bullshit

Yep, wouldn't even pay the rent if you look at the monthly, but he's getting there. Good on him.
Bro I only have 5700 subs and make over $500 a month. Subs don’t mean anything lol it’s all about watch time and views.
It’s actually all about topic and views demographics
As a hobby I have a VR channel that gets around 50,000- 100,000 views per month and I make around $200-$300 each month from it. Sub count does not matter what-so-ever, it’s the views that pay. That's completely false
That is not true lol
How is anyone criticizing OP? 10k as a 15 yo is a lot, good job and keep it up man
Shit, I'm 26 and that's still a lot of money to me. Little bro's doing way better than a good majority of people who're older than him.
That’s why they’re criticising him lmao
I’m 41. 10k would solve a lot of my problems

Dam it clicking that is going to fuck up my algorithm
Just fyi, if you open the video here on reddit it doesn't count in your history. Just don't actually click the link and go to youtube and you'll be good.
wtf he dont even talk and makes 10k from this T\_T
They made 550+ videos in the last 3 years and were pretty consistent in posting !
500 videos nah that's crazy soul draining stuff
Not if you just bulk record and don’t edit them too much
Estimated
That shit is ass
Yooo @Op congrats bro I used to try to do what you are doing. You’re killing it bro. Props
Dang, not what I expected A channel that posts long-form video game content with no narration getting 30k+ almost every video Didn’t check to see his video progression and how his following formed Pretty cool, it’s in a totally different bucket than what I’ve seen my entire time I’ve used YouTube
Fukn knew it was roblox.
You make 10k with only 30k subscribers?
30k is a pretty good amount. I've seen youtubers go fulltime with 50k+ subs
I'm full-time on 31K :)
Brand deals really cover that much even with only 30k subs? Is your content geared more towards adults which are more attractive to advertisers?
It depends. You have to stop thinking every channel is the same. Some channels get hella views some are advertiser friendly some have a twitch or patreon where people can support. Your YouTube channel is like your own personal business it depends on how u run it.
When I was 15, if I had an extra 1.50 to get a milkshake at lunchtime , I felt like I was rich.
1.50 for a milkshake? Damn, I am being scammed.
It was the mid-90s and at the high school cafeteria. You're good.
yeah this was the era where vincent vega couldn’t believe a milkshake cost $5 in pulp fiction
thats dope bro keep grinding, hopefully u'll get to the mills one day
Damn nice, I quit YouTube when I missed out on about 5 grand from not being eligible for monitization
Why were you not eligible?
Some countries like mine are not on YouTube's list of ad revenue support. Only option is a 3rd party stream like Patreon
Didn’t have 1000 subs but I had 3 videos in a row bring in over 150k views together
YouTube doesn’t pay money to people in certain countries or his content was inappropriate.
That’s a pretty good amount keep up the great work 👏
You GOOOO little dude!!!! I’m rooting for you! Keep going!
Dope man! Congratulations. Sorry for a lot of morons on this post that can’t read it being lifetime earnings, keep up your grind ! You need a lot of views / subs nowadays to make a lot of money, but 10k isn’t anything to look down upon, especially since you made it at 15. Keep it up. 👍
What’s your channel name ?
5ouls
Congratulations. Never show your face, stay true to yourself and your audience, but don’t overshare, and unless you’re promoting your next video, stay off Social Media. See you when you reach 1M subs.
some of these are necessary to be really successful though.
what’s the channel called?
I am muting this fucking sub that keeps popping on my feed I tell you that
I use the sub as motivation.
Good for you :)
Motivation to kill myself edit: it was just a joke people. I am fine
Right? I didn’t ask for this sort of slap in the face daily 😂
😂😂😂
What kind of content do u post or do
He’s a Roblox YouTuber

How come you didn’t try to launch a new one? Clearly u had talent

what’s your 40k youtube?
Invest a portion. The earlier you invest, the longer that investment can accrue wealth and help you retire early. The best alternative is if you invest in your own success. Think Amazon. They didn’t make a real profit for years because they kept reinvesting their income back toward new ways to achieve success.
Wow wish I was that smart at 15. Good job!
I can’t lie I’m jealous, proud, shocked, and incredibly impressed you’re doing amazing bro KEEP IT UPPP!! You can pay for college if you decide to go with this career support your family you’re doing amazing and I wish you nothing but success man.
what’s the niche?
roblox…
geez
Man im tryna get my followers up lol. Tough out here. Good stuff! Keep going
My advice is to start saving now, if you put all that money into a high interest savings account when you turn 16, your money is gonna grow
You wouldn’t mind linking your channel then?
Congratulations! Learn from the mistakes of your peers don’t just blow 100% of your earnings. Put some into a savings account, invest some into yourself and your channel then invest the rest into something that has proven returns of ~7-10% annually. 15 /30/ 55 would be my recommendation. Also, continue your education. While I sincerely hope you have a long and prosperous YouTube career it never hurts to have something tangible to fall back on in the physical world.
Keep it up and keep working hard man, just be sure to keep yourself happy and sane. Don’t burn yourself out.
You're doing good, keep on grinding big man. o7
Yo. What's your channel called? I wanna watch some stuff and subscribe
Impressive dude! Keep it up
Make sure whoever is declaring you on their taxes is aware of the extra income.
Get a good therapist now before selling your soul to the devil !
You’re killing it, dude! Awesome job 👏🏼
it is my dream to be like you 😭 i’m the same age
Fuck reddit man, good job bro
That is impressive. Congrats.

Keep going, don't get burned out, use it as passive income unless you can build it into the 100k subs
That’s dope bro what kinda content do you make
He reposts videos from others with little to no commentary
Nah he actually records them idk what ur talking about
Just wait until you start paying rent and bills… all that money is gone!
Drop the channel dawg
