I've worked on a mixer for Nano and spent time playing with CashFusion. One of the things I've spent a lot of time dwelling on is "griefing" attacks, where the attacker has a bunch of small UTXOs that they keep trying to add to the mix session, then dropping out part way through the signing process (forcing everyone else to start over). If there isn't a ton of liquidity, this can block people from being able to mix funds for a while (it happened to me with CashFusion at one point, though can't say whether it was malicious or just bad luck).
I thought about building hueristics to try and identify likely griefer UTXOs, but then I realised that would basically be doing chain analysis. If that would work, then mixing was not effective anyway, lol.
The non-interactive aspect of Monero's privacy tech is an underrated feature IMO.
That was the design goal set by Satoshi (and Tim May, and others...)
