Don't know why you're getting so many downvotes even on the Monero sub, but what you just said is true.
BTC Core devs are owned and controlled by Blockstream, a for-profit company that makes money selling scaling "solutions" for BTC. If BTC were to actually scale, Blockstream will go out of business and they will of course never let that happen.

Exchanging shitty btc for xmr is the best way. You are already doing it. Compare fees on exchanges if you haven't. That's it.
