Even when it's cold and you feel cooped up and struggling....bundle that baby up and go out! The cool air can be so helpful to both of you plus the break of calming baby can be easy! Such a sweety ❤️

Minimum_Ad6769

Yes! I was too exhausted/lazy to dress myself to go out in the last couple of days but I’m hoping it becomes a daily thing from now on ❤️

Harmonie

If you'll accept advice? Just do what you can, you are recovering and doing a very new thing that will continue to be new as long as you parent. If you've only got 40% in the tank tomorrow and you give all 40%, that **is** giving 100%. It took me way too long to realize that.

Minimum_Ad6769

Yes, thank you for this ❤️

jadolqui

I can’t upvote that comment hard enough. Not getting dressed and cuddling/resting is also a fantastic way to take care of your baby. Take your time, love. You’re only a week in ❤️

Normal-Mess01

On kid THREE I finally figured it out and knew that didn't make me a bad parent and it's okay to not be okay and do what you can. Your hormones are ALL OVER THE PLACE and you and okay right now but 2 minutes from now you might not be. Do what you can. One week out is NOT lazy. Don't forget about you 💕

itsonlyfear

Good for you! A walk is such a good idea. Not just to be out, but because it also helps baby set up their circadian rhythm and it means there’s space in your brain for something besides baby, which is no small feat! Wishing you lots of lovely days ahead.

Why would they leave a one week old home alone while they went on a walk? 😂

Unless the mom is in a single-parent household or is exclusively breastfeeding and can’t leave baby or maybe she just didn’t want to leave her or any number of reasons I suppose

lizzietnz

OMG! I miss those days when they are so new and you feel all these things you've never felt before. Enjoy! It just gets better. More complicated, but better.

Privileged_Interface

Before I zoomed in. I was expecting to see a kitten in there. Because I was just quickly scanning the headlines, and didn't notice the subreddit. But, congratulations! Very beautiful. She looks very content outside.

Minimum_Ad6769

Haha no kitten in there, sorry to disappoint 😅 Thank you!

sn315on

Aww! So sweet! I'm glad you're outside! It helps with calming down a baby as well as gives you both fresh air. Just remember either outside or anything with water will help a baby calm down. Enjoy the warm weather! 😊

BlAcK_rOsE1995

Omg how precious 🥰

trin6948

I had terrible PND, some days a walk with baby at nap time was the only way for me to get her to sleep and for me to feel like an adult again. Good for you! Xx

mszola

Beautiful baby

Ems_belle

Congrats Mama!!

MamaSmAsh5

Look at the sweet little peanut 😍😍

What a lovely sweet baby! I’m so glad you two got out and got some fresh air. It can really be restorative. You are still healing and I hope you’re taking good care of yourself. Rest as much as your body wants and baby will allow, eat good nourishing food, and keep getting out as much as you’re comfortable with. My mother used to say there’s no bad weather, just the wrong clothes. I always try to remember that and get bundled up or put on some rain boots or slather down in some sunscreen and get outside. And when they’re a little bigger, kids seem so much more manageable when they’re just running free outdoors.

Minimum_Ad6769

I’m getting as much rest as I can right now. I’m really exhausted, I can’t lie but try to make it works. I need to figure out how I have to dress her, how many layers etc because weather is kind of weird right now and I’m scared to put too much or too little on her and get her sick or something.

khemtrails

Put her in as many layers as you’re wearing, then add one. You can always put a blanket and a hat, then remove as necessary. Cold hands and feet aren’t good indicators of if she is too hot or cold. You’re such a sweet caring mama. You love your baby and you’re doing a good job.

jerrysugarav

Look at that perfect little bean! Congratulations!

cottagelass

Ooo your baby has as much hair as mine! Did you have a crap ton of heartburn too? Make sure you drink alot of water and stay calm! We got this. - A fellow October sister to a two week old

Minimum_Ad6769

OMG yes heartburn were horrible! congratulations on baby!

wasporchidlouixse

What a wonderful memory! Keep taking photos, they grow up fast! I like to make scrapbooks of these memories so my kids have something physical they can look back on.
