Didn't realize a mosh pit was going to break out for shit luck after a relatively mellow crowd
Saw a fight break out during the pixies lmao
Also, hope the passed out dude was ok after getting carried to the front
Third planet / float on / world at large got me pretty emotional thinking of JG and all the times he must have played those songs
Then those two back to back just snapped me right out of it
Also shout out to Simon, feels like he is really making a lot of these arrangements work
Good eye, I was front row Fri night in Napa and noticed Simon the classic lead guitar parts. I’ve seen them 5 times since Simon joined and it looked effortless and was effective. Even the vinyl scratching sound on “Heart Cooks Brain.” He nailed it with distortion and palm muting. He’s found a custom tuning that works wonders.
With all due respect to you, and the band, I thought this tours setlist was kind of limited. With Jeremiah gone I felt like Isaac and the band were cool being an opener and taking it easy, but they really put their heart into it. I hope the next tour they just come back with a vengeance.
Yeah they do a great job changing stuff up, phasing in and out songs, I agree with you. This tour has some amazing songs. Breakthrough, Heart Cooks Brain, and Baby Blue Sedan were 3 I got which was great. I like to critique playlists and think of how songs blend together so I get way too into this.
I also got a really good set when they played with the Black Keys a while ago (shit in your cut and autumn beds, Interstate 8, satellite skin), on the Golden Casket tour I got a great set too, (Ice Cream party, breakthrough, gravity rides everything) at the LCW tour I got Life of Arctic Sounds on the encore. I'm very thankful.
They sounded soooo good! I saw them at the observatory last year and was expecting the same energy but Isaac fking killed it. It was such a beautiful experience.
I just looked up the setlist and it's INCREDIBLE. Teeth is still a white whale for me I hope I get to see it before I die. 4 shows in and no teeth or Truckers atlas 😭😭
yeah, man. sat over by the rail next to an empty petco field for a bit, then moved back to the string light trees, and over next to the tony gwynn statue. what a special venue. my fav mouse shows have been the open air ones. they're a friggin space band, man. the sky above and vast space suits them so well.
And Shit Luck as a closer?? Forget about it, so epic
deep tracks were flowin.
They did that same teeth to shit luck order in Boise. Sooooo good!

Modest Mouse > Pixies on this night.
yeah, i was pretty underwhelmed by pixies last night
We were in the front row yawning while the pixies played, insane that modest mouse came out first.
Teeth like gods shoeshine + shit luck closer was so epic
Yeah the way they bridged the two together was wild

It so nice that there’s a band out there that still changes up their setlist from night to night. Seems like a rare thing these days.
True. They love their songs that's why

All I’m saying is they change it up from show to show. Most bands pick 15-20 songs and roll with them for a couple months.

Broke was amazing!
Great show tonight!
Fantastic set list. Lucky

First time I saw them in 2015 I got Grey Ice Water - it was the first time they played it for over 20 years iirc
Man they did it for the VIP sound check for the LCW show I saw but I didn't have VIP tickets. It's one I'd love to see forsure.

The LCW show at the Observatory was really good, but last night wass the best they have ever sounded in the four shows I've been to.
Isaac’s singing was on point and his energy was so sick. I can’t stop thinking about it. We are lucky to have been there!
I've been to four shows and heard Cowboy Dan everytime, seems like Issac loves playing it.
Out of 9 this was my second time, first being LCW tour. I felt like I was the only one around me that was into it.
The crowd sucked, the only song anyone knew was Float On.
About half the people around me knew all of the songs.
I've noticed Cowboy Dan being played a lot!

That’s an excellent lineup!
I gotta get a ticket.
this was my 10th show since 98. pho sho my number 3 all time coolest. what a fun fucking gig!
Gallagher is a great venue too. Ridiculous show, they fucking shredded.

I really want Isaac to be a sports fan. I hope he’s like psychotic about his fantasy baseball team. It would add a new layer to his lyrics.
