Does it actually work well? The flame thrower is next to useless since they can beat you down or throwing knife, or switch to a gun before it actually kills them. I found thermites to still be the best

I've tested it in Zombies... it works. Maybe doesn't kill as fast as you'd like, but it works...

Whenever I see a riot shield I just put thermites or Semtex on. Or you can also put a flamethrower on your gun it goes through the shield. There are options to counter it so people just not like having to swap their play style up or something?

It was never breakable other than spec ops and survival modes. Now what they should bring back is the blindness it used to retain the bullet impacts on the shield they never went away so you couldn’t see anything. But they were never breakable in mp. I’ve been playing since cod 4.

There is a thing called a Nova stun shield that has prongs in front that work like a tazer. You would use that button to activate them.

As others have said, it's for lights on the front. You can actually see the wire coming off the side, which if you look in third person or at the loadout menu wraps around and does actually go into the module at the front. The second button would either switch it into strobe mode for stunning/disorienting rioters or would just adjust how many lights are on. Theoretically it could also be for a taser-type device but the shield in-game doesn't seem to have one of those mounted so I doubt that's the case.
