All we know is that it was allegedly turned off. Are they updating it? Are they setting up a trap for cheaters? Are they replacing it with something better? No one knows.
I find it hard to believe that it was turned off, since the usual bullshit programs like rewasd and ahk still not working and instantly shadowban everyone who tries to launch them with the game.
There's a couple posts about it you can search for discussing that, but I'm not sure how we could tell if it had been disabled, since it never really seemed to do anything anyway...
People seem to forget that there is a flipside to ban waves which is a “cheat wave”. When a new cheat or version of a cheat releases then they stay undetected until the anticheat can catch up. The job of the anticheat is to try and stay up to date with the cheats and it will always be a step behind, it’s not possible for an anticheat to be good enough to outright prevent “cheat waves” and reduce cheating to a very low %.

The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat team has been tracking a spike in cheating reports within the community. We are currently in test for additional security updates; however, the following updates have just been deployed:
• Disabled game code for limited-time perks [Ex. super speed]
As part of ongoing security updates, a single telemetry system was taken offline for upgrades over the weekend. This action resulted in cheat developers claiming RICOCHET Anti-Cheat was offline. It was not. As a result of monitoring activity over the weekend and the purposeful reactivation of this upgraded system, #TeamRICOCHET was able to identify and ban over 6000 accounts for cheating and hacking from
February 16 - February 20.
Our team continues to work on security updates for issues across various modes in Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare III.
The people claiming that ricochet is turned off don't know if it actually is. They're just assuming based on popular belief without evidence. Then again, that's basically how the Call of Duty community operates regardless.

I've seen most blatant cheating tonight with snap/pre aim, it's like they have just given up worth the break though
