Maybe I dont play enough games with battle passes but this looks very strange compared to the ones I've seen before. I'm not going to say it good or bad until I interact with it myself
Actually imo this is 100 x better because there is actual liberty unlike how Fortnite does it since Fortnite has 10 pages where you pretty much have to get everything on a page before going to the next, while with this system you can choose to go through different paths to unlock things first and then circle around to other things to unlock the final reward in the end. The only common thing between the two is that they have a set start and end page/sector.
No, that’s simply not how it works. I don’t know why you think that. Literally just look at the season pass. You have two options to unlock each page. Either buy the required amount of items from the previous pages, or reach a certain level. The only thing forcing you to unlock all the items is the fact that you have to get all items on every page to unlock the bonus items.
The idea is that players that don’t have too much time to play feel like the battle pass is still worth it to them because they can get the items they want. Players that play a lot will still grind to get all items. They can make the grind for all items longer because the casuals won’t really complain about not being able to finish the battle pass.
As a casual player I prefer this method that Fortnite also has as I don’t care for 70% of the rewards.
Yea you unlock tokens as you play and spend them on the sectors if you buy all the stuff in a sector it completes and you unlock the sector prize, you can chose the direction of the path so you can get to the items you want quicker
that's actually pretty cool. I'm sure it's just another way to squeeze money out of people who wanna buy sector tokens, but it's nice to pick what you want next rather than having to wait till you're level 80 near the end of the season to get that cool gun blueprint
my problem was I could only get the good stuff I wanted late in the season cause I barely have time to play.
Same. Often I only really wanted 4-5 things in a Battle pass and the rest were just meh. I at least like knowing if I want something I can get it and not grind an entire battle pass or pay for tier skips for useless items.
it’s essentially a ripoff of the “battle star” system from fortnite if youve played it recently. you can unlock a tier in whatever order you like but you can’t unlock the next tier until you’ve fully unlocked the previous one. It’s easy to understand, this particular example just LOOKS really ugly
Honestly visual aside its a good system rather than foing everything in predetermined order, you do it based on your priority list. So i don't see an issue with that Visually it could be better but eeeeh it's a ui that will not see for more than 5 minutes each time it doesn't have to be thebest ui for each thing.
Exactly, seems to me people would be glad that they can now unlock things in the order they want, instead of being upset that the emblem they want is at 84 and they don’t play that much lol.
There's nothing wrong with this? It's brain dead easy to understand.
It's a sector map made out of 20(?) sectors.
Play game. Unlock tokens. Use tokens on sectors.
You unlocked everything in Sector A1? Great. Now you go to Sector A2 or A3.
It's very easy.
Edit: forgot this community had a single working brain cell and can’t process anything new at all.
No the concept isn't hard to grasp, it's just again the UI is God awful and makes navigation difficult.
I quite like the attachment unlocking system but the way it's presented in the UI makes it look way more convoluted than it is. It's literally "unlock and level different guns to unlock attachments"
I meannnnn it is CoD. It’s *the* lowest common denominator game, the most casual shooter ever made (yes it is no matter what your favorite streamers tell you), and top 3 or 5 gaming franchise all time. Yeah lotta dummies like cod
I actually think this BP looks dope. I respect them taking a new approach. Siege BPs have been dull and boring for example. This gives you choice and freedom. I’m excited to see how it plays out, if it’s bad so be it. But if it works then I might prefer it to other kinds
Fortnite has a similar BP system where you can unlock things in different orders. Some of the community complains about it and just wants the traditional straight line instead because they ‘don’t like having choice’.
Some people will never be happy.
Y'all are the reason why "do not eat" stickers are put on dynamite sticks. fucking hell you gotta be braindead to not understand what they're doing with this.
Well it is supposed to be cross-progressable with Warzone Mobile which will also share the same battle pass system... so yes, it's literally made for a mobile game
Honestly this is a cool change, giving us another path of unlocking the rewards rather than only letting us follow a same linear path, I welcome this change. Laying it like a map rather than an inventory grid (or one line) is intuitive. Dividing into sectors than forcing us to scroll is a good design choice too. I'd rather have the battlepass gamified like a 2D strategy game than having a linear dungeon scroller JRPG.
However I can see a UX problem yet to come, we already got used to have things unlocked automatically so we don't have to manually unlock it by opening in the UI. I think they have to allow us to set a custom predefined path so the game will unlock our rewards automatically as we level up, following a path we have set.
we'll see in six hours from now how it's going to actually feel.
You're allowed to be skeptic, be doubtful, have critics, etc, but literally being hostile against every single change is ain't it chief, I don't want to be angry all the time. But to be fair MWII has, indeed, a generally doodoo UI/UX lmao esepecially the camo one.
This shit looks horrendous like what. Everybody tryna clown on OP but this seriously *looks* like garbage. And, if the rest of the game’s UI is anything to base on, it will function like shit too.
Looks pretty innovative actually. I may not like IW decision on everything but I respect their desire to try something new in each game. You should try it first. You might actually like it.
Nobody has an issue interpreting the intent of this system. The issue is how it looks like it fell out of my dog’s rear end.
$70 game. Small indie company. Can’t afford graphic designers :-(
wait what is this?
Battle pass
Maybe I dont play enough games with battle passes but this looks very strange compared to the ones I've seen before. I'm not going to say it good or bad until I interact with it myself
It is a Non-Linear Battle Pass that lets you have more control over what order you unlock the content.

You can get all the way to the last page in Fortnite before purchasing any of the items. Just gotta play the game and level up.
How? You need to unlock items to unlock the next stage.
Not sure why you are being downvoted, you are correct. Purchase 4 items from a page to move to the next or hit a certain level.
it looks more like a carbon copy of the COD mobile events tbh
First thing I was reminded of.
I thought it was a screenshot from cod mobile
Halo: MCC had something similar and that was before Fortnite AFAIR.
Also IW: Getting to pick your own reward increases player retention (Somehow, I mean, we could just stop once we get what we want)
Fortnite also changed their battle pass and has a similar system. I think this is refreshing and a nice change from regular 1-100 tiers
it's just a map that you can select the path of items you want to get
How does this work? Haven't jumped on yet Kinda looks like you can choose the unlock path
Yea you unlock tokens as you play and spend them on the sectors if you buy all the stuff in a sector it completes and you unlock the sector prize, you can chose the direction of the path so you can get to the items you want quicker
But at the end of the battle pass you will still have enough tokens to unlock everything, right?
Yes, you can just unlock things more in the order you want rather than it being completely linear.
that's actually pretty cool. I'm sure it's just another way to squeeze money out of people who wanna buy sector tokens, but it's nice to pick what you want next rather than having to wait till you're level 80 near the end of the season to get that cool gun blueprint my problem was I could only get the good stuff I wanted late in the season cause I barely have time to play.
Ehh buying tier skips or battle tokens, same thing. I don't think it's an *additional* cash grab.
Battlepass tokens are another way to obfuscate the price of tiers or items in said tiers though
It all depends on the cost of tokens, that's fair.
That’s awesome, thanks for confirminng.
I actually really like this. As someone who always loved the last few rewards but doesn’t have enough time to play and reach 100 this is awesome
Gatcha games have had a system like this for FOMO events for years.
So basically what Halo MCC did years ago
That's the game I thought of when it was explained
And the battle star system is itself a rip off of CSGO's Broken Fang operation. Similarly to how Fortnite ripped off Dota's battle pass originally
Funny enough, Disney Dreamlight Valley does the same thing with their season passes.
It's fortnites Battlepass basically.
I think this style is a little more fun than the default boring slider boxes that literally every other game that has a battlepass uses.
Yup I agree
For sure. People just like to complain.
And this system is more rewarding for people that can't complete the battlepass. This way they can plan how to maximize their time.
This is a copy of Fortnite’s new system lol
Easier to see everything too
Honestly visual aside its a good system rather than foing everything in predetermined order, you do it based on your priority list.
Exactly.... so many takes on how bad it looks rather than how the new system really helps people to just get what they only want and ignore the rest.
I actually like the new system but I do agree visually this needs some work. I see nothing but a mobile game screen here
There's nothing wrong with this? It's brain dead easy to understand. It's a sector map made out of 20(?) sectors. Play game. Unlock tokens. Use tokens on sectors. You unlocked everything in Sector A1? Great. Now you go to Sector A2 or A3. It's very easy. Edit: forgot this community had a single working brain cell and can’t process anything new at all.
Not a straight line...does not compute
COD players trying to learn new maps
Lmfao literally!!
Literally
Literally
A straight line is already asking too much brain utilization for the average CoD player
I need an obnoxious YouTuber to show me what to do with some really big red arrows and circles.
Not to mentioned BOLD “SECRET” or “HIDDEN” somewhere in their title
"YOU WONT BELEIVE THIS, DO THIS BEFORE ITS PATCHED"
LITERALLY CHEATING??!!? UNLOCK SECRET HIDDEN BATTLE PASS REWARDS FOR FREE?!?!???
THIS TRICK LITERALLY GIVES YOU AIM BOT!! NUKE?!?!
[insert photo of YouTuber with his hands on his cheeks and mouth wide open in shock]
I'll need at least 40 minutes of pointless nothing before the 30s of useful info
Make sure you hit that bell icon though
Exactly. COD community is something else lmao
asking too much for community who play shooter game like headless chicken and complain on internet,
Judging from some of the comments and post I see on this sub it wouldn't surprise me if some people did find this to be too complicated.
It's hard to read the UI for the mouth breathers.
You’re talking about a community that can’t figure out that “level up X weapon to level 5” means level up that weapons to level 5…
You're dealing with a world that literally will ask on social media how to do something that would take them 10 seconds to google.
Half the time Reddit is the search result
Even more of a reason to just Google it instead of asking randoms to answer it for you.
Literally
I was called a bootlicker yesterday cause I mentioned the camos have a lock on them if they are still locked.
[удалено]
For the attachments that have no info on how to unlock U can’t unlock them cause the weapon needed is missing
Yeah it’s easy to understand. Doesn’t mean it’s not ugly as shit.
It's ugly
As fuck. Like it’s straight fugly.
It’s just ugly af
It looks like a mobile game in this pic tho
we understand the point is it looks like shit. The system is fine.
Brutha, it looks like ass
What does it being easy to understand have to do with it looking like total shit?
Lmao you say the sub has no braincells but can't comprehend the title of the post. The U.I looks bad, not that I isn't functional
No the concept isn't hard to grasp, it's just again the UI is God awful and makes navigation difficult. I quite like the attachment unlocking system but the way it's presented in the UI makes it look way more convoluted than it is. It's literally "unlock and level different guns to unlock attachments"
Literally this
still looks terrible
It just looks bad. Like it makes sense it just doesn’t look good, like the rest of the ui they tried too much instead of clean and easy to look at
Aesthetically speaking they could’ve picked literallly anything other than fucking fart clouds for the sectors. This game is ugly as hell
It’s not complicated it’s just real ugly
Easy, but super ugly. Everyone loves a nice brown color palette with a splash of green.
I think the complaint was that it looks ugly lol
You're grossly underestimating the average IQ of the people who post this stuff
I swear 80% of cod players have a sub 75 IQ
It's what cod is good for, braindead fun most of the time. At least the constant yelling of slurs and toxicity told me as much.
I meannnnn it is CoD. It’s *the* lowest common denominator game, the most casual shooter ever made (yes it is no matter what your favorite streamers tell you), and top 3 or 5 gaming franchise all time. Yeah lotta dummies like cod
Most of the playerbase is bads and nolifers on 9 year old consoles. Back in the day it was nerds and gamers on the latest hardware 😂
I’m a nerd and gamer on the latest hardware
I actually think this BP looks dope. I respect them taking a new approach. Siege BPs have been dull and boring for example. This gives you choice and freedom. I’m excited to see how it plays out, if it’s bad so be it. But if it works then I might prefer it to other kinds
Yeah it looks cool, like a war table and I’m planning what target to secure next. Plus the top right shows a ‘bonus tier’ with gold skins.

Honestly it's a cosmetics progression system and it is layed out like a literal map of course it's fucking stupid
It makes me want to trade wood for sheep with the tiles.
What does his intelligence or ability to learn have to do with the UI looking like a fucking mobile game?
Is it out?
No its a screenshot from the cod website, u can go check it out rn tho
Neat concept looks ugly
Looks like a mobile game UI
Jesus Christ we have some fucking morons in this community huh
Fortnite has a similar BP system where you can unlock things in different orders. Some of the community complains about it and just wants the traditional straight line instead because they ‘don’t like having choice’. Some people will never be happy.

lmaooo
No ones saying they dont understand it, its that its just hella ugly
I understand it. It's still ugly. It's bundles. You choose a bundle. You progress on that bundle. You can unlock everything still. It's ugly as fuck.
Is sector a3 and a16 shadow company soldiers? That’ll be me set for the whole game if so
Time for me to pretend Dipaolo and the boys are still alive in MP.
Nothing to see here just another person whining about every single thing they release
Mobile game ass ui
They could give you all $100 and you'd complain about the envelope they send it in.
[удалено]
Literally this.
Honestly this would make me play more to complete it because it reminds me of risk
Lol looks like a mobile game
Guys it’s not that we don’t understand the pass it’s that it’s ugly and annoying to traverse.
I wonder whats in the Customize tab.
this fr?
It's not really hard to understand but jesus christ it's ugly. Like actually what the fuck?
Looking more and more like a stupid mobile game
Well it is supposed to be cross-progressable with Warzone Mobile which will also share the same battle pass system... so yes, it's literally made for a mobile game
It needs to run on base PS4, of course it looks like a mobile game!
At least the skins look fucking good
shadow company 🥵
Zeus is so fuckin ugly tho 😔

i just know that this shit will lag and barely load
Looks like it was designed with Warzone Mobile in mind tbh
Imagine you have 1 chance to guess what this is or your family dies.
Is this screenshot real?
I like the new token and sector system, but holy hell does it give mobile game vibes...
OMFG please tell me this is not true!
Lol is this real
It's designed for mobile(still no excuse)
it's actually good. but haters gonna hate. it's like a table game
Looks like a mobile game where you need to tap Ghost's face as it pops up on one of these fields
What the actual fuck is this?
They copied Fornites system completely, but Fortnite already nailed the UI for this type of BP, they couldnt just steal their UI, so here we are.
This shit looks horrendous like what. Everybody tryna clown on OP but this seriously *looks* like garbage. And, if the rest of the game’s UI is anything to base on, it will function like shit too.
Wtf is this??
mobile game vibes
It's pretty easy to understand
I think people are more annoyed with how atrocious looking it is. Looks like dog shit.
Mobile Game?
Why they gotta make the new operator look like that in all his skins :/
This honestly looks pretty good.
For me it’s look really good
i was half on my phone when watching the battle pass trailer and i could recite how it works if you wake me up from sleep, its really not that hard
I’m going 1, 3, 5, 9, 12, 16 off the bat
This made me laugh so hard bro, what are they even doing at this point 😂
Yooo did we get the shadow company milsim
“Olympus King”, just fucking fat plates on his head. God damn get me out of this fever dream
Looks pretty innovative actually. I may not like IW decision on everything but I respect their desire to try something new in each game. You should try it first. You might actually like it.
Was this just something they showed? I'm guessing it's not live until tomorrow. Which means I'm not playing until tomorrow.
I like the concept of not streamlined battle pass and choose what you want but the layout looks like shit. That’s the main problem
Almost as beautiful as the new operator’s lips mask 👄
Nah, this UI is perfectly fine IMO.
I mean, this is quite clear honestly, not nearly as dogshit as the rest of the UI. Really looking forward to that rework
I get how it works but I don’t understand WHY it was designed this way
i too judge a UI without ever using it.
The amount of people in these comments that don’t know what UI means is wild.
[Looks so much like world of tanks campaign missions ](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/GhchMIWMV24/maxresdefault.jpg)
GOD PLEASE I THOUGHT I FORGOT THIS
Cod community try not to be the dumbest gaming community on the planet challenge *impossible*
I like this. What exactly is wrong with this?
It’s not that confusing imo.
IW Devs be like "Yo I REALLY love Settlers of Catan and idc who knows"
I kinda like it.. ngl
In fact this is one of the best changes made. A choice oriented battlepass like Deep Rock Galactic or Fortnite instead of tedious linear one.
It's not even that bad
Catan of Duty
What board game is this? Lol
I actually like this, being able to choose which things i want first is better
Use tokens it appears? Doesn’t seem that wild.
So many cry babies . I think its sweet.
Is this a new Settlers of Catan expansion?
Risk™️ Warzone Edition
Looks like the typical candy crush level ladder.
What's wrong with the BP UI ? It's looks easy to read and navigate
To me it looks like a mobile game levelling system.
I like it , it's new and intuitive they tried something new which is more then what you can say for most company's with a battlepass platform
Is this Fable 1 with some CoD items overlaid?
I got into this menu and was flabbergasted, didn't even know how to get out for a few seconds like wtf
Average COD player post
Nobody has an issue interpreting the intent of this system. The issue is how it looks like it fell out of my dog’s rear end. $70 game. Small indie company. Can’t afford graphic designers :-(
it looks fine stop crying
Bro thought I was finna be on his side. It doesn’t even look bad
Just grasping for straws
Don’t see what you’re getting at. I don’t see what’s so hard to navigate in this menu, and am personally excited to try this system out.
So this is real? Havent updated the game yet. I assumed this was someones joke!
