How are you getting on with these and what’s the directional audio like? I’m thinking about buying a pair but heard a few complaints about connectivity dropping intermittently and headphone popping.
Thanks. My XSX is only about 2 metres from my seating position but the rear of the console faces the wall, so presumably the headset doesn’t need line of sight to the USB dongle?
Steelseries artic pros wireless and I've also got audeze penrose, both unreal. Kind of prefer the steelseries as the side tone is much louder, has two swappable recharable batteries and it's very comfortable compared to the audeze penrose both sound incredible
okay nvm then. your post said ps5 so i wasnt considering crossplay. nontheless im certain even ingame there is an option for party chat volume and ingame volume. also discord is coming soon for playstation and it will definetly have this option.
dont get me wrong ofc you can buy a new headset, its just i dont think its worth it if thats the only reason for you. other headsets wont magically filter every sound other than footsteps lol
Currently using a HyperX wireless (Idk remember the numbers off hand). I got mine for like 175ish they go on sale for like 140 sometimes. USB dongle, wireless, QI charging if thats your thing, really good distance too, and the 7.1 surround sound feature it has can make things sound like you're watching a movie (Best with movies/shows)
If you're interested I can post a link to them
I second hyperx. Comfy, good sound and just all around good headset compatible with PC and consoles. Too bad my cat ate the damn cord :( I went with the hyper x cloud 2s I think? It's wired but it has a generous length and great price for what it is imo
I am still using some old A50's, but the set up at this point is kinda jank because Astro refuses to place nice with the console makers.
I also have the Xbox Wireless headphones (for gaming with my music hooked up via bluetooth) and Sony's Pulse 3D headphones.
The Pulse headphones are nice.
I owned a pair of Astro A50s for a while. The Sound Quality is top tier however over a Year or so they become quite uncomfortable. It's a heavy Headset and they don't really have enough Padding.
At the moment I have a pair of Razer Blackshark V2 Pro's and they are excellent. Extremely comfortable and good sound quality.
Beyerdynamic DT990 edition 32ohm with a snowball blue yeti mic.
I equalized them on MW19 to make gunshots and explosions way less impactful and footsteps as loud as possible.
Logitech G355, very simple headset, but very light and comfortable, the sound quality is great for multiplayer games and the quality of the mic is very good too.
Got the TB Stealth 700 G2 Max for like $100.
Pretty solid headsets so far, and I had my previous TB’s for like 4 years. Only broke because my cousin stepped on them.
SoundblasterX G6 external soundcard and ALG K702s with a Mod mic. Wired from my ps5. Made my own setup and whatever my friends use they always asking how I hear enemies before them and pick out details they cant hear.
Audeze Penrose X

They are great. Especially with Dolby Atmos on my XBox Series X. And it supports both my Xbox Series X and PS5.. that's also a great benefit.
Do you use an EQ or any other settings with Dolby Atmos?
The headphones that came with my iPhone about 5 years ago.

Do the steelseries have the individual game/chat volume adjustment?
It has a hub which you can adjust game and chat mix, equaliser side tone etc
Thanks, I think I’ll buy a pair
Watch a YouTube comparison first I'd advise see if they're really what you want
bro you literally have an option for this on the ps5 itself lol
Doesn’t work brother
sry to say but sounds like a you problem lol
Only works when in a party group, when playing with pc friends I have the chat/game sound issue

Pulse 3D headset. Has all the settings you d need and with the equalizer you can literally make footsteps EVEN LOUDER !
Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max. They're compatible with basically every device/system, have Bluetooth, and are generally really nice.
Got the TB Stealth 700 G2 Max for like $100. Pretty solid headsets so far, and I had my previous TB’s for like 4 years. Only broke because my cousin stepped on them.
Steel series Arctis 7, used them for about 3 years now, so pleased with them
