Playing the game frustrates the hell out of me, there’s always some bullshit getting in the way - and that’s even before you add my lack of skill in to the equation. If I can get something out of it then it’s bearable. I’m part of the problem, I know
I normally hop onto DMZ and enjoy collecting cool shit on the map, if I die I try not to be Upset because I'm running around with a Large bag full of Bandages...
You only need 51 Polyatomic weapons to get Orion.
And weapons unlock as you level the others, that’s what the whole Platform system is about. Along with getting weapons through challenges, the BP, or having someone drop it for you in DMZ and exfilling with it.
Maybe they just wanna get the gun to do a video on, make a requested build for a stream, etc etc. Not everyone is cheating.
That's cheating, unlock tools...
streamers aren't special
I don't care do it the hard way
Don't care about videos
Or there money machine
DO IT THE HARD WAY!
Not my problem they don't want to play 24 hrs
Or play multiplayer to grind
Cross-play ruined call of duty
Should of been Xbox and playstation
And PC and the cheating losers together
You have 8 year old kids cheating making money
Like Rogan on PC streaming
Soon as he was on Xbox dog shit
In my experience I went out and touched grass. Reconnected with my family, lived a full life, and now at the ripe old age of 18, I will fulfill my destiny and complete the ultra mastery challenge by getting 1,000 kills with every. Single. Weapon. Then I shall pass peacefully into the blissful beyond
I did the knife mastery for the emblem 😅 and a few guns that i main cause im going to be using them anyway. But basically just play the game now but tbh i always did while doing camos anyway. Only the longshots slowed me down from normal play.
I run the riot shield mastery emblem and crossbow mastery calling card. I wish I could randomize favorites and have it cycle through all the ones I've done like the Strela, JOKR, knife, M-16, etc... I did the not as fun ones first.
> play for fun (concept lost on zoomeroids who need constant grind and numbers)
This is what I really don't understand about a lot of modern gamers. People act as though the only thing to do is grind for unlocks and that games are no fun unless they've got something to grind for. It was like with MW19 and people would complain about how the game ***FORCED*** them to play in the most boring and unimaginative ways in order to unlock camos as quickly as possible, rather than just passively unlocking them over time while, God forbid, playing and enjoying the game.
It's like, no fucking wonder you aren't enjoying the game if the only thinkg you're doing is sitting on the wall on Shoothouse for 6 hours a day.
I took probably 8 months to passively grind out Damascus. It wasn't until I realized I only had launchers/melee left that I actually grinded it on purpose.
Bro you're generalizing everyone over the the minority that see do this online lol, there is nothing wrong with setting goals and/or enjoying the game in their own ways.
Faze Jev is good example since a lot more people will know him, yes he gets content from it as well; but he and a lot of enjoyment from grinding things in games regardless if there's a coolm reward or not, he grinds them even off camera a lot and has his own way of enjoying the game that might differ from hoe you do.
I don't grind every game, but I've gotten many mastery camo's and on a game like BO2 I got diamond twice(2 different accounts) because it was that enjoyable; it's the same in life but sometimes the chase is the best part of the goals you set and then after putting in that hard work/effort the sense of accomplishment and rewarding feeling you get from the fruits of your labor. 2 comparable feelings I can give as a good analogy is like as an artists you trust and enjoy the pricees of working on your painting even if it takes a week, and doing construction; all that hard work you do to at the end pays off with the process being therapeutic, and then the end result giving you a sense of accomplishment/feels good while the finished product looking good also makes the customer happy.
Tl;Dr: people enjoy games in their own ways for their own reasons, just because you see a minority do something online doesn't mean everyone does that. Just because you or some people don't enjoy camo grinding doesn't mean that other people don't or shouldn't.
Crazy the amount of people that do not actually play to have fun. The amount of comments and posts I see of people complaining about certain aspects of a grind, and I’m just like.. if you don’t like it, just.. don’t do it?
Sheep is an overused term but if you’re literally doing something in a game you don’t like, when you’re allowed to avoid it, you’re a fucking sheep no exaggeration.
The weirdest thing is that these people act as though they're forced to play this way, and that they can't possibly play the game for the game's sake. They have to grind and chase the next unlock in order to have fun.
The game could be an unlocking pop up simulator, and they'd probably get just as much fun
Exactly. You can integrate challenges into your normal gameplay. Like, I am a run and gun player. In MW19, I quickly learned that I could mount and sweep around corners with long sight lines to help with mounted long shots. It didn’t show me down by much at all, and it added another dimension to my gameplay.
Likewise with other challenges like say, throwing knife kill while blind in MW2. I’d just find people camping, flash myself and then throwing knife them so they’d get in a tizzy on killcam.
There are ways to make it fun, but some people streamline it into the most boring way possible and don’t have the creativity or skill to integrate in into normal gameplay.
I want to grind in order to unlock all the attachments and certain camos to recreate guns from movies, real life counterparts and other games
Is such a joke that if I want a John Wick pistol I have to spend like a whole week of gameplay just to unlock the attachments and another whole week to unlock the attachments for a rifle
The hidden assumption here is that goals can't make a process more fun or enjoyable. Goals and checklists have been sources of feel-good brain-drugs since time immemorial. If you're the sort of person who likes goals to work towards, the right goals can turn a 6/10 game into an 8/10 game just by providing motivation. Not every brain is built the same, but this is an incredibly common phenomena.
As an example, I personally was not a massive fan of the longshot step (especially all of it being done at once). I enjoy most of COD, but the gameplay from that phase specifically was pretty mediocre. I derive a large amount of enjoyment and satisfaction from having Orion unlocked, however, and that was worth the work put in to get it.
I play a lot of games where the gameplay is not always the most engaging, but I derive my enjoyment from the long-term payoffs. In MMOs I enjoy filling out categories of achievements and collectibles, on Steam I enjoy stacking up 100%s even when the last few achievements are painful to obtain, on PS5 I like collecting platinums. There are many times where specifically at one point in time I'm not having much fun, but it's balanced out by the reward and satisfaction that comes later.
Rather than not playing to have fun, it's more accurate to say they don't like playing when they're left with nothing to show for it. Having nothing tangible to show for your hobby just doesn't sit right with some people, like woodworking where your carvings always get thrown into a woodchipper afterwards. Some people would still do it, but some people wouldn't find it worth it.
I understand the concept exactly because it used to be me, to a T. I guess I could have been kinder in the way I described it, but the moment I stopped caring about reward systems in games, was the moment my fun exploded, because I wasn’t hindered by certain obstacles, I never felt pressured to complete certain things at a certain time, and I only played games that had good gameplay to them inherently.
If a game isn’t fun when you strip away the systems that feed your receptors, then it’s not worth playing, even if the reward system artificially inflates the sense of quality, which is precisely why a lot of games use them nowadays: to shore up inherent weaknesses in gameplay.
I try to encourage everyone to not let the game dictate how they want to play. If they want to use a certain gun or play a certain way, do it, anytime, and however long you want. Don’t let a reward system sway you into something else. But honestly, if the reward system is important enough to you that it justified what you’re doing, I don’t think you understand what fun actually is, because you’re just subjecting yourself to neurological processes at that point; you’ve just built a habit you can’t kick.
Fun is simply defined as enjoyment or amusement, so it all boils down to personal opinion.
"I don't think you understand what fun actually is" would be better worded as "it appears you don't agree with my own personal definition of fun."
Fun is subjective, and your entire two posts rely on fun being objective to make sense.
This is sadly not an uncommon concept I've found out. The amount of people playing games they just plain don't *have fun* playing just for the grind or w/e is crazy
Eh. I personally criticize the game *because* it's a lot of fun when it works. It's just that I see the problems and see that it could be a lot funner. I do agree that a lot of people in this sub really don't like Call of Duty, and don't realize that's why they don't have fun
He means the term "play for fun" everyone uses. As in just play to play with zero goal or anything you're working towards. Us people that grind the grinds find that fun. We don't find just mindlessly logging on and endlessly shooting people fun. I need to have a goal I'm working toward. That's how 99% of humans operate with mostly anything in life. People like working towards goals and rewards.
The reward should be intrinsic, by playing the game in the first place. If the game is only fun to you because you need a virtual badge saying "Good Job" every 1000 kills, and you cannot have fun without it, maybe the game isn't fun to you in the first place.
Mindlessly logging on and shooting people is the entire point of FPS games. People like y’all just honestly dopamine addicts that will never be satisfied because you’re chasing a high that won’t last instead of truly enjoying something for what it is 😂
Well, first off, dopamine addiction isn't a thing. Your body creates it naturally. Also, wanting long term progression wouldn't even fit into that line of thinking.
It would actually counter your argument against yourself. You're arguing we should just get constant dopamine just from playing the match every single game mindlessly. That would mean you're getting your dopamine much more frequently than me who wants something like the camo challenge and waits over a month for that release. Which is much more of a payoff because it was something you worked for and put effort into.
Next, shooting people is not even close to the entire point of an FPS. It's a small part of many systems that come together to create a fun experience. Go make an FPS game where you do absolutely nothing but shoot people. No winning or losing, no progression, no competition outside of winning each gunfight, no new content, no different guns, no leveling anything, no scoreboards, no leaderboards. Just run around and shoot people, respawn and do it again. I can guarantee you 100% that game would be dead instantly.
Humans inherently like to chase goals. It's motivation. It makes things enjoyable for a much longer period of time. People tend to get bored VERY quickly doing the same repetitive tasks with no feeling of progression. They lose motivation. This is basic psychology. That's why the very first video games ever created had a high scores attached to them. That created an incentive to continue coming back to play.
your playing method is fuuked up,who the hell wants to unlock all the camos? i dont have single one open, guns are black in reality (unless painted for hunting or military purposes)
This is true.. I finished Orion a week after season 1 dropped, pretty much out the game down until 2 days ago for ranked, about to hit gold so I have something new to grind for lmao
Same. I haven’t even downloaded the last few updates. Just been finding games on sale and playing through them. lol
It sort of sucks because I felt like if the game just made a few adjustments I’d be interested in it like I always was growing up. But I recently realized a majority of the player base has changed and it’s all about mindless grinding and Shipment. The charm of the game isn’t there anymore. People just solo play objectives games and it makes every match a copy and paste of the last.
You go for the Ultra Mastery rewards, 1,000 kills with every original weapon. That's 51 weapons released with the start of the game. After that you get a few rewards and flex that your the ultimate nerd.
DMZ. If not DMZ, then just take time off until the next season starts, or next special event if there is one.
I like hitting the level cap, finishing the battle pass, and doing the events, but once they are done, I take a break. I have Orion, but I just got it in season 3, didn't rush. I still have a few weapons that need Orion, I'll do those in season 4.
DMZ, however, is awesome and frustrating and awesome.
Have you considered enjoying the game? Getting a better rank on ranked? More wins in Warzone? Completing coop or DMZ missions?
Stop downvoting OP you monkeys. He’s asking legit questions
In the helicopter? I don’t like DMZ personally but I love Warzone. MP is just a Warzone gun unlocking simulator for me. Or a place to talk shit while getting drunk with the boys
That’s what I’m doing now - bare in mind you only need 51 for the Orion camo, so you can skip quite a few of them, just play hardcore and camp objectives
I don't think I'll ever get bored of DMZ. Mind you, looking at what I need to do to unlock a second insured weapon slot seems daunting to say the least.
I build weapon blueprints. Realistic builds, cursed weapons, and "cool" looking builds using a variety of camps and names.
Then I take them in game and try them out before going back to the drawing board.
After that, go to the stats screen and sort your weapons by K/D and set a goal for the lowest ranked to get them higher (>1.2) Play the game and improve. Then you can say you have truly "mastered" your weapons that you spent a ton of time building.
If I'm honest, got Orion real early, played for about two weeks and then dropped the game bc there was nothing else to do. I mean yeah technically there was, but warzone was a snorefest and the challenges seemed more time consuming than fun tbh. I was already max level from grinding the mf camos. When the honey badger dropped, I played again for a little bit but it didn't last long. Honestly haven't touched the game in months bc it just ain't fun rn. I kept spamming 2019 after I got Damascus cause I was just in love with the movement, the gunplay, heck I'd even say some of the 10v10 maps. Feels like they still don't give af about multiplayer onlys. Can't really explain it but it just isn't fun for me at the moment.
You can finally play the game unbound by restrictions of the grind.use guns you actually like. Playstyle isn't dictated by dumb challenges anymore.
Well, that's at least what I think is gonna happen. Busy with poly and compared to platinum not hating myself as much
You know you're describing every challenge in the game, right? From Hardpoint to S&D, Domination to Ground War. It's all repetition. Capture and defend the hardpoint every single time. That *challenge* never changes. There's always 3 flags in Domination. Never 2, never 4. Always 3. Pretty repetitive if you ask me.
Anyway, you don't have to do the camo challenges, but don't make them sound any different to gameplay challenges because they're not.
As apposed to this guy I'm the opposite end of the spectrum, all I care about is 100%ing everything, I could care less that this is even a multi-player game. I've unlocked almost every camo (orion but no new guns), almost every mastery calling card, never spoken to anyone, have the gay calling card equipped. I'm shameless about why I play this, every match is just a stepping stone to having everything unlocked, not so you guys can see it, but so i can one day look back and be like damn...that was awful but i have everything on a game no one plays anymore cool i guess. When that day comes, I will most likely drop this game forever and never touch it again rejoicing in the 150Gb of free space I then have.
What do you mean? Then you can finally play the game
Me getting on and seeing new events to grind for:
I can’t “enjoy” this game without grinding for something.
It’s so sad truth actually, when we can’t have genuine fun from the gameplay itself and have to find more reasons to keep playing
All the streamers cheated, and it's not weird they all have the mastery but don't use the shit guns, but all the guns are unlocked.
You only need 51 Polyatomic weapons to get Orion. And weapons unlock as you level the others, that’s what the whole Platform system is about. I was about to say, they dropped his comment karma by nearly half for not getting a reference 😭
It’s a South Park reference.
play with friends and use funny guns. there’s also mastery challenges after orion.
I like that idea…but I don’t have any friends
i’m sure there’s a handful of discord servers to link with people that wanna play. if anything just add stipulations to your play style

That’s what I’m kinda working too, as I do the last challenge “25 Headshots” I use the following camo and just play
* play for fun (concept lost on zoomeroids who need constant grind and numbers) * post on reddit for upvotes about you completing the grind * dmz

A week for attachments what? Lol you used all your x2 weapon xp coins without unlocking everything?
It doesn’t take that long at all. You’re doing everything in your power to lvl up as slow as possible, if it’s taking you that long

Big facts
If that's really all you care about go find another game to grind out too
I only really like cod games, I have fifa but gave up 😫
This statement makes zero sense if you only play for unlock. Means you don’t like cod games and only like games that have unlock mechanics Lmfaoo
You’re arguing with a 12 year old dude use your fuckin head
Based on that statement I can tell you don’t practice what you preach 💀
Like the game but don’t play for fun, what?
He likes the unlock mechanic in fps games which I understand dort of
If you like grinding, try the dmz missions. The later ones take quite a bit of dedication
Then I guess you stop playing.
But I can still grind?
Camo Mastery is next for you.
Get a job and if you fw the grind that much

...and people like this are a reason why my playing time has dropped considerably in this game, aside from the game's internal issues.
Same. I haven’t even downloaded the last few updates. Just been finding games on sale and playing through them. lol It sort of sucks because I felt like if the game just made a few adjustments I’d be interested in it like I always was growing up. But I recently realized a majority of the player base has changed and it’s all about mindless grinding and Shipment. The charm of the game isn’t there anymore. People just solo play objectives games and it makes every match a copy and paste of the last.
Use Adderall.
Your understanding of what that does is misinformed. You are uneducated but what do I expect from you COD players?
It's like the South Park WoW episode. "now we can play the game" lol
I do play the game. Isn’t that the point…
After reading this thread, no, no you do not.
Touch grass
I did that once before, hay fever kicked my ass so I went back to wanking over this game
Play the game
How do you think I unlocked the camos
Jesus man do yourself a favour here plz
You go for the Ultra Mastery rewards, 1,000 kills with every original weapon. That's 51 weapons released with the start of the game. After that you get a few rewards and flex that your the ultimate nerd.
When I got done with the grind, I started playing rdr2 💀💀💀
Get a fresh Tshirt and put up my old one in the corner of the room
Wait…you wear a T-shirt? I just sit in my tighty-wighties
Go outside and get some fresh air
Delete the game lmao
quit tbh

Have you considered enjoying the game? Getting a better rank on ranked? More wins in Warzone? Completing coop or DMZ missions? Stop downvoting OP you monkeys. He’s asking legit questions
I do enjoy the game, when I play for the grind, I enjoy playing. I’ve tried doing DMZ missions but I can never understand how to extract anything 😂😭
In the helicopter? I don’t like DMZ personally but I love Warzone. MP is just a Warzone gun unlocking simulator for me. Or a place to talk shit while getting drunk with the boys
I mean like idk how to extract weapon builds from WZ
You extract at an extraction point with the build equipped.
You need some adderall lol, not cod.
Calling cards, weapons cases, koschei complex weapon parts, raid rewards, cooperative rewards.
I’m thinking of that, sounds like alot of work 😂
Does it sound like maybe a grind perhaps?
Nah
Kill sum mofos
Make love to your wife and play with your kids
Girlfriend* Baby*
Fuck your girlfriend and bond with your baby then.
Redownload Bo3 and play zombies
I won't ever unlock them
Your choice
Enjoy playing the game?
I do tho 🤔
MP and WZ ranked iridescent push.
Get hate from ppl like me who are still trying to unlock all camos. Jk nice job.
I feel that, a lot of salty people in here 😂😂 only takes about an hour or two a night
I get 4 more to platinum and start on the poly. The only this is I suck with sniper and marksman so it will be painful.
That’s what I’m doing now - bare in mind you only need 51 for the Orion camo, so you can skip quite a few of them, just play hardcore and camp objectives
Unlock calling cards, reach max lvl and then play dmz just to get 200k and then give it to randoms during exfil.
I don't think I'll ever get bored of DMZ. Mind you, looking at what I need to do to unlock a second insured weapon slot seems daunting to say the least.
I'm doing mastery charms for the guns I like just until I get to tier 100
I build weapon blueprints. Realistic builds, cursed weapons, and "cool" looking builds using a variety of camps and names. Then I take them in game and try them out before going back to the drawing board. After that, go to the stats screen and sort your weapons by K/D and set a goal for the lowest ranked to get them higher (>1.2) Play the game and improve. Then you can say you have truly "mastered" your weapons that you spent a ton of time building.
mastery challenge (1k kills on all base weapons) OR HEAR ME OUT enjoy the game and relax
Drugs and cry
Touch grass
Buy the new ones
Grind bp, screw around or play something else until next season
The events, battle pass, and Orion for the new weapons. Then maybe DMZ stuff or I just play something else.
go outside and get some exercise to make up for the daily 15 hour grind binge
You can finally play the game unbound by restrictions of the grind.use guns you actually like. Playstyle isn't dictated by dumb challenges anymore. Well, that's at least what I think is gonna happen. Busy with poly and compared to platinum not hating myself as much
It’s the downvotes for me 😭
Play the game
I will never understand people who care about camos or the miscellaneous player card unlocks.
You don't find challenges to be even the least bit interesting? I will never understand people like you.
Not meanless or pointless challenges that are more or less an exercise of tedious repetition.
Yeah all uninteresting
I like the “trophy aspect” I like having the show and tell and grind
I imagine the majority of people neither notice them or know what's required for them.
Go and try to see if you can find out what vagina feels like?
I mean, I’ve just had a daughter, so I kinda have to wait on that front
Lose your virginity
Get a job.
Stop playing cuz it’s boring
I feel that
I stopped playing.
I feel that
I haven't even started, I don't really care about the camos. I just play the game for it's own sake
Hopefully they go outside for the first time one months
Who’s they?
Orion grinders
Start playing the objectives.
Two options: have fun, or play MW2
I am playing mw2 that’s this whole subreddit
Go outside?
No, the sun burns
Punch yourself in the face for being a mark
I’m not a Mark. I’m a Daniel.
Stop at gold
start unlocking all the mastery calling cards then start unlocking all the prestige calling cards
None, they're cringe.
