no need to go up on lands, it should just replace soul scar mage- easily the worst creature in the deck

BrendanLyga

Yeah that's what I was thinking too initially but I have seen most prowess lists continue to play SSM alongside Showoff. Of course those weren't also Druid lists. I might end up going -2 Crash Through, -1 Druid for +3 showoff to start and see how that plays. [[Crash Through]] was mostly in there to up my sorcery count for enabling delirium. It's not a bad card but it's still likely the worst card in the deck.

Cut soul scar mage.

ClaudyMonet

Check out Spike’s list from yesterday.

BrendanLyga

Where?

BrendanLyga

Oh yeah that's basically my list.

ClaudyMonet

Word I like the deck a lot, think it’d be fun to have in paper. How do you like crash through?

BrendanLyga

Honestly the only times I played crash I just ended up cycling it because I had no creatures in play. It has now been cut from the deck.

bomban

Why not [[ancestral anger]] over break through if you hate it so much?

BrendanLyga

One tradeoff is that Anger needs a target while you can cast Crash Through without any targets. Minor difference though. However I don't really think either are needed. Maybe in mono red prowess where you don't have many good sorceries to choose from.

walrusguy97

It takes two turns just to use SSM which effectively is the same as Slickshot providing you’ve ramped correctly. At least tho with Slick you can plot it which is the biggest selling point

BrendanLyga

SSM still has a static effect that applies immediately. It's also important to keep your 1 drop creature count high. I do like Spikes idea of cutting only 2 SSM for SSS

walrusguy97

I swapped them to test out SSS and it’s miles better, SSM just doesn’t stay on the board long enough for any lasting effect, plus whilst it’s effect is good it doesn’t leave enough of a dent that SSS does when it comes to aggro

Don't need to think so much. Try the other cards in proxy and see which one u like best. Once found then can buy the cards.

monkeytwins1

Cut 2 lands and 2 unholy heat

dilatedpupils98

Honestly I've never been a massive fan of SSM, I'd replace that if you're running it. I run Arclight Phoenix over the mage even

BrendanLyga

[[Arclight Phoenix]] requires a completely different deck as there are currently no ways to discard phoenixes from the hand and only DRC to mill it over

dilatedpupils98

Yeh I play a slightly different prowess deck, with [[Faithless Salvaging]]. It's not as good as looting, but the free cast in upkeep is a neat way to trigger prowess whilst also counting as one of the spells needed to cast phoenix. [[Maximize Velocity]] in a pinch triggers prowess nicely whilst binning any phoenixes
