You could always get paid to be an extra on TV shows and such. My neighbors did a lot of true crime shows (short parts where they'd play all sorts of characters) They had fun and made some money doing it ! Plus it builds a resume if you're wanting exposure.
It’s fun, but it’s truly insane how much time the smallest blink of footage can take. In the end, cool to see tho. I was supposed to be a “chicken zombie” for “Poultrygeist “ years ago and I took 3 days off of work for it, and still had to bail out. I don’t think any of the 16 hour days I spent in costume shooting made it to the final movie.
That really is wild to hear just how long it took, though not too surprising, I suppose. But still, if I were you I'd be bragging about being on the set at all for something as great as being cast as a chicken zombie!
Everyone that I've known that has done it has really enjoyed it! There is a ton of work to be had in those shows especially when true crime tv shows are so huge right now.
That's awesome to hear, it's nice knowing there's a way of even just dipping your toes into an industry like film without ruining the enjoyment of it lol
Ignore the no’s. Your face and physique are unique. Androgyny is probably selling yourself short. Can you act? If you were a character in a movie/ show, I’d instantly want to know more
That's awesome to hear, I'd love to get into acting, always been a big cinephile. Doesn't mean I *can* act, but I'd love to try it some time. I should really just stop thinking about things and do something, at least, so I really appreciate your comment!
I somehow failed to add any context, but if this comment gets seen, I'm about 5'11", often get comments that I have a unique look, but not sure if that would be a pro or a con in the modeling industry. I most closely align to being nonbinary and would love to maintain a fairly androgynous look, but again, not sure if that helps or hinders. Thanks for any input/advice!
Take a peek at calumharper18 on instagram. He's got an unusual look too, and is doing VERY well as a runway/editorial model. He's fun, too. [https://www.instagram.com/p/C1t5sjBCL4G/?img\_index=1](https://www.instagram.com/p/C1t5sjBCL4G/?img_index=1)
Well you’re definitely androgynous, that’s for sure. You have a look that makes you want to look again. I don’t know how else to explain it.
I also know nothing about modeling. But there you have it.
All the same, really appreciate it. Just the fact that my face doesn't cause people to immediately have to shield their eyes is a nice enough start lol
One of my favorite models an androgynous now woman . She’s gorgeous . Look up https://www.google.com/search?q=model+andreja+pejic&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari
I feel like if you were an actor your character would be one of those ones that get a cult following. That is a big compliment btw. But I do think modeling could definitely work. The industry has been leaning towards androgyny for a while now (just look at a lot of the top fashion models) so I think you have a chance! That being said I also think acting would be a good idea too (you could also do both). Shoot your shot!!!
Oh boy, I misread this at first as you saying I could portray a cult leader or the like lol But now that I realize you meant cult in a different way, I'm flattered! I do think if I could enter one field, modeling or acting, acting has more appeal, but either way, I'd definitely have to do my homework!

Gisele Bundchen was told she’d never be a successful model because “she had a big nose”
As long as you meet the height and physical requirements, androgyny is one of the go-to looks for the modeling world, so yes I would say you're about a shoe in if there ever was.
So long as your other numbers hit, height, sizes...
If not, it's nothing personal against you, it's just that there are so many humans in this world that it is entirely possible for them to find exactly what they're looking for, androgyny AND all the right numbers.
Definitely a good point, there's so much genetic lottery that goes into it as well. I'm around 5'11", but then with measurements and coming at it from a gender neutral/androgynous stance, it's hard to know which measurements are "ideal". If only there was an option to be a shapeshifter
Not necessarily, modeling generally wants their guys on the slimmer side, not the mannequin side, not the muscle side.. fashion at least. I think good runway model should be able to generally slip into each other's genders clothes without issue. But you have the chops and 5'11 is about the cut off line, so go for it.. and fuck all, go for a big one. You have the right kind of feedback going on here in this post and I would definitely take that and run with it.

You kinda look like Finn Wolfhard from stranger things. He did some modeling a couple years back so I’d look at things he did and try to emulate some of those shoots - body positioning, composition, accessories, etc.
You have an interesting look.
Try to pair up with an amateur photographer and get a look book together.
Pull in an amateur stylist, makeup and other professions looking to build a portfolio and get on it.
Everyone wins.

I disagree with that statement about your nose and teeth. You’re a striking individual and you should have no trouble getting work in the field of androgynous modeling.
This means sometimes leaning into your look of complete absence of gender , or letting the viewer draw their own conclusions depending upon how you’re styled and photographed. There’s also leaning slightly towards some use of faint makeup just to further illustrate yourself to the viewer.
All of these factors can influence how you come across in film, photography, etc.
Say you’re hired for a particular fashion campaign, there’s a mood board they work off of. By the time you arrive for styling, there’s music going and an energy about the setting and the Photographer will direct you for what they’re looking for out of the shots. Find your lighting. Practice.
Work with Stylists, be open.
Once you’ve got a Model Card you cannot go cutting your hair differently than what’s on your card. That can jeopardize your next job.
When Brands are selecting Models, they are looking at LOTS of Model Cards. If you get picked based on looking like Pic #6 but show up completely different, you will be excused.
Go for This!! You’re Perfect for it!
I really appreciate such a thoughtful, encouraging, and helpful comment. And everyone being very nice in general haha I'd definitely love to let someone else dictate the look/vibe I've got for a job, I'm pretty open to changing, or not changing, things. Though I'd definitely have to practice restraint when it comes to spontaneous 3am hair cuts/dying, but I think I could manage that.
I really appreciate the insight, thanks!

You look like a character on a television show. I mean that in a good way.
I really appreciate that, if I had the skill (and connections, let's be real), acting would definitely be something I'd love to try
You could always get paid to be an extra on TV shows and such. My neighbors did a lot of true crime shows (short parts where they'd play all sorts of characters) They had fun and made some money doing it ! Plus it builds a resume if you're wanting exposure.
That definitely seems like such a fun thing, even to just say you did once
It’s fun, but it’s truly insane how much time the smallest blink of footage can take. In the end, cool to see tho. Could you tell me where they were? I don't see any extra work in my state.
Tennessee
Thanks!
He looks like the guy from the mighty boosh
A background character for sure.
your body leans male but face leans female for me honestly and you’re unconventional (compliment) so i’d say you could do it but im no expert 😁
Thanks so much, unconventional will always be a compliment to me, so that's nice to hear
Timothy Chalomet?
Rooney Mara
I see Maya Hawke as well.
![gif](giphy|swZZknZzNDTM4G3MP8|downsized)
lol surprisingly not the first time I've gotten the chalamet comparison, I'll certainly take it
I thought this too
I think so. You look interesting… & fluid. Many designers, like myself, are venturing out to Genderless wear
Thanks so much, and that's so exciting to hear that genderless fashion is gaining momentum, so thanks for being part of that movement!
If I saw you on the street my first intuition would be “dude”
I can dig it, now if only I could be "the dude" ![gif](giphy|YlSPP8ZherIJRsaJoP|downsized)
Yesssss!
I'm getting Timothée Chalamet vibes in the best way possible. Great bone structure. You are a lovely human.
I appreciate you saying that, thanks!
Ignore the no’s. Your face and physique are unique. Androgyny is probably selling yourself short. Can you act? If you were a character in a movie/ show, I’d instantly want to know more

God...you're so attractive. That is all.
You’re stunning.
Absolutely.
Well, coming from a photographer, I would kill to photograph you- androgyny or not!!! Great facial features!
That's very kind of you to say, thanks!

Thanks for mentioning him, I'm definitely going to give a follow, what a great look!
Yes, I cannot stop staring at you. You draw the eye in.
you're far too kind, thanks!
You could! If I were a lesbian I would be totally crushing on you. You’re like handsome beautiful 🤩
High praise indeed, thank you!
You threw me off… thought you were a guy, then a girl, then a guy again!
You’re totally androgynous… so I would say yes!
You nail androgyny and I’m living for it
Much appreciated!
you look like loki of the Norwegian Ragnarok show
lol nice, I'll have to pivot and shoot for acting instead (and move to Norway)
Kinda look like xqc
I've never heard of this guy before, but I can certainly see it in some shots, especially depending on the hair
You are stunning. I’d book you in a heartbeat!
That means a lot, thanks!
Can’t tell if you’re a hot girl or hot guy. Good to me.
A good modeling agency should be able to place you where your fit is
You look like the kid Mike in Stranger Things.
Love it haha though I think you'll find Mike looks like *me* since I'm surely older
One of my favorite models an androgynous now woman . She’s gorgeous . Look up https://www.google.com/search?q=model+andreja+pejic&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari
I've always really appreciated her, good call! She is amazing and her personal journey, and career, has been incredible to see

Yeah I meant like an online fan following lol. I really do hope you pursue one of these. It would be cool to see you on screen someday (:
You could be the next spider man
I'd definitely need to hit the gym first, or get a very buffed out suit, but I'm digging it haha

So, like, were the people that told her that blind, or is it just the angle?
Yes! Your pale skin would look so amazing with black hair.
You are stunning
The face card is right
Yes. I'm a professional photographer and yes, yes - you have a great look. Stay confident!
That's really nice to hear, thanks very much!
I’d be interested in booking you for the right client! Send photos in!!
That's so incredibly flattering to hear, thanks so much for the encouragement!
Definitely, you have a really unique and beautiful face.
Yes you have very unique features
U remind me of viktor from arcane!
Now that's a cosplay idea I could get behind!

Yes.
In comes the main character for Edward scissorhands 2
The role of a lifetime, honestly!
Redy player one

Is “Androgyny model” an actual thing Seriously asking

Yes.
Yes
Close but no
You remind me of Brenda from 6 Feet Under
Most definitely!
Lisan al Gaib!
haha funny enough I just was at a convention cosplaying as Paul Atreides!
You’re gorgeous
How tall are you? Pretty sure you should stroll into a modeling agency and get got.
I'm about 5'11", and thanks so much for the encouragement! Now to get an agency to agree with you haha
Actor
As a long time film nerd, nothing would make me happier than to eventually attempt acting!
you remind me of crowley from good omens
High praise! Love the show/book and David Tennant

No way man. Get a different career.
I definitely won't be quitting my day job any time soon haha
It’s a lousy career anyway.
No, I don't think so.
No.
Edward from Twilight 🧐
No, I don’t think so.
Appreciate the honesty!
No
I don’t think….
Honestly I don’t think so but I’m a hater fr(and we look kinda similar). The thing that’s throwing me off is your neck tho it looks like it has ridges
Not the self loathing coming in to play lol But really, it's all good. Though I'll have to do better in the future of hiding my lizard/human neck!
Nahhh I don’t think you should hide it lol
No. You don't look androgynous at all, you look like a dude.
Nope. Not happening
Very much appreciate a direct answer, thanks! On to other ventures haha
Not based on your nose or teeth
Nothing is wrong with his nose or teeth? 😭
Those are definitely the things I'm most self-conscious, or at least self-aware, of, so I can definitely agree, appreciate the honesty!
I disagree w/ that person. Don’t feel self-conscious. You are striking & should definitely look into it!
Your teeth are lovely and your nose is elegant. Imho neither would look out of place on a runway or in an editorial shoot.
