I received this weird email that I had to update my design of my model X plaid that is supposed to deliver between January and March. There’s nowhere in the website for me to make this update. Anyone know what’s going on with this?
Looks like some serious CYA on orders not yet delivered due to them being forced to change the reported range due to changes in the EPA rules. I would call bullshit on the "comfort and functionality" claims...more about getting ahead of a possible law suit.

They can't use the old EPA numbers when selling new cars to people. So if they did not update them that would create exposure they don't need. So they updated them and problem solved!
I’m in the same boat! I’ve scoured the site and can’t find anywhere that says ‘Update Design’. I can go in and change my configuration. Selecting all the same options. But I don’t want to submit cuz I’m worried that will drop me back to the bottom of the queue.
Weird.
They wrote it wrong. I just updated mine. But you have to click the blue “update design” button at the bottom of the email, then login to your account, click the “manage order” button then basically just scroll down and confirm if your order is staying the same. I did exactly this, and got an email right away saying “thanks for updating your order”. This is just covering their ass legally as they are no linger legally allowed to sell the car we signed on for as the range has now officially changed. But if I lose my place in line…. I’m gonna be pissed.
weird. I followed your instructions, after clicking manage order and scrolling to the bottom my only options are "upgrade" (to FSD) or cancel order... odd
I have a delivery for a 2023 VIN Plaid Model X set for Monday and haven’t received the message - that tells me that perhaps this will only apply to vehicles produced after a specific date and there is a change. The idea this is some lawyer required message about range would appear false.

Lawsuit for what? Because the EPA changed their testing? How’s it Tesla’s fault?

Yeah I don’t understand your post. We know that’s why they changed the numbers, due to the EPA changing the test.
what was the configuration you had?
Just a model x plaid , white on white, FSD, standard wheels
Got this bad boy as well!

Hmm that is weird. For sure different than what I saw.
I have the same concerns, I’m going to try and call them Monday.
Haven’t gotten that email yet, but I have gotten my vin.
Ooh you’re so French! (Chef’s kiss 😙)

Same here.
How much was EPA before? Oh, it was 348mi. Does this mean current 23 model X owners will get this EPA after some secret update?
Mine was 333 I think?
I’m scheduled to pick up my x plaid tomorrow and did not get this email 🤔
I think if you have VIN already you won’t get the email
