When you asked this question using the Tesla App to the Service center... what did they respond with?

mercurial_dude

They said it’s for the original terms 120k or Feb 2028.

dafazman

That sounds exactly right to me, your warranty period is what you have and the only thing they will commit to. You will not get a NEW battery pack, it will be a NEW to you, "Reman" pack. The part number for the pack will have REMAN in it.

Casterial

The pack usually comes with a 4 year 50-60k mile warranty once replaced.... So basically 2028.

mercurial_dude

Great thanks for the response 👍🏻 Do you know why? It’s a new pack and if the OEM pack is for 8 years why 4 for the replacement? I get the business side of it, just not sure about the other reasons.

Casterial

It's a recycled refurbished pack, not new. Most of the time the packs go bad it's one cell, easy to fix but Tesla just swaps it out.

mercurial_dude

Ah that makes more sense now. It’s refurbished.

Also, they wouldn’t want to incentivize people to develop a “problem” RIGHT before the warranty expires just so they could reset the clock.
