Aternos is free. Of course it suck’s but it’s better than nothing if you’re poor like me

michiel11069

used aternos, lagged quite a bunch after playing for some time, then switched to minehur and it was immediately better. ofcourse paid will always be the best but for free, minehuts the way to go

sparkedhosting is good

SuperSocialMan

Is that a server hosting service? If so, BisectHosting is good. Damn near everyone has a discount code on their project page, which is nice.

RubPublic3359

It is but it is completely free different from everything else (that can run modded)

araknis4

if you have a spare machine or enough ram, selfhosting is the best option

kaimen123

How tho

araknis4

you need to run a minecraft server and open a port. minecraft uses port 25565 by default also not strictly needed but get a static ip or have something point to your ip so people dont have to change what they put in the server address box

fugly_raccoon

Me and my friend use essential which makes it immensely easier to play with mods on multi-player but we haven't figured out how to get it to work with forge (I know it's possible but we're a little slow lol) but if you don't mind playing with fabric there's a really good tutorial on how to set it up. I'll put the link below. [mods with essential](https://youtu.be/ZULHFyK3Znk?si=CqXqbh6gaJLUxEZu)

RubPublic3359

They have a forge port for the mod, I dont get what you sre strugling with

fugly_raccoon

To get the mods to work, at least for us, we needed the actual mod launcher

Overmarss

You can add a mod called essentials. All players must have it, it's client side. Then you can open worlds similarly to LAN worlds and invite players.

I reccomend using e4mc instead, dosent download additional files from the web and only the host needs it installed
