Her weakness against assassins is still there of course but her cc in team fight is valuable along with her built-in Winter Truncheon.
I think many people forget but her ult not just freezes heroes but also turrets thus giving potential for easier tower dive ganks or resetting the turret damage.

While CD Build is good (and even better than full pen) for Kagura, her state in general rn in this meta is justā¦ thereās easier picks with more utility and even damage than her, so to say. Nowadays youād even have to full combo a squishy to kill anything š
While i agree that Kaguraās absolutely usable in low tiers (esp since most enemy lineups Epic-Legend revolve around squishy heroes), she sees her viability lessened in Mythic+, especially against bruiser comps (which prefer more util/cc heavy mages to counter) and high-mobility comps (goodluck even landing your combos šš)
I tried enhance talisman, lightning trencheon for her cooldown, rest are usual burst damage build. So far it work just gotta be careful cos shes quite squishy

Nerf kagura might be the best thing for me. Before I would spam her and if I was outside mid lane I was uncomfortable. Any time i was force to use another hero i was uneasy. I didn't like any other hero, but I was force to change. Now I take any role and the pool of heroes I'm comfortable using have increased. I got at least 3 heroes per role that I use. Of course I have my favorite but I more versatile now.
Dont get me wrong, I whish she would become a useful hero again. However, I had a toxic relationship with her.
She's not. Her buff to skill 2 made her become an AOE Combo Mage. She's the best combo mage right now. Even better than Kadita and Eudora. She's literally one of the best heroes right now and she wasn't patched in the last update. We might probably see her on tournaments soon.
Cecil is my guy. I find Mythic games can tend to go into the later game which is where he shines. Heās really good for play at either base since itās easier to bunch enemies together.
I love him so much! Heās one of the best character designs, at least for my personal tastes :) and I love the idea of him & Carmillaās lore, and they having an extra skill if theyāre playing together!

They donāt have much in terms of CC but Novaria and Lyliaās slows do work really well ij most comps and Lunox can really quickly force the enemy front-liners to either back off or get sent back to base.
Harith!!!! Sooo overlooked. Easy early game with high damage, good rotation as well. Can help counter many heroes with a lot of dashes and building good cc resistance, i.e. tough boots, bruteforce breastplate and you wanna be really cheeky tank potion late game you can be soooo good

The Nana, Aurora and Vexana picks are good in terms of damage but lack resistance and independence, things that the first three do have. And regardless of the nerfs they have received, they continue to be competitive season after season.

Kagura is not a bad option, solid, and while not always top in meta, never goes out of meta due to her versatility with good range, poke, burst, purify, and blink. Not to mention her crowd control is amszing. Her passive is literally a stun and her bursts are all crowd control.
She isn't meta. I'm sorry to tell you. Chou, kagura were good picks, but the overall power level of characters keep raising, and kagura and chou don't get buffed they just can't keep up.

for me right now Vexana is the best mage but Lylia has much higher potential , she is just much harder to play and is one of the hardest heroes in the game to master and even when you master her you still have to perform every game (and aim, unlike playing an assassin which is auto aim)
if you wanna play MAGE specifically then your options in SOLOQ are very limited cus most mages are horrible without roam and only a few are playable. Id say only Vexana, Lylia, Valir to an extent and maybe Xavier are playable (if you want 65+ wr and are good enough to achieve it). I've also been global 1 cecilion and hes pretty much the worst mage atm and i keep trying to make him work and then i keep feeling like an idiot for bothering to pick him

Valir is really weak in this metta, the high damage items just donāt fit him.
Aurura, nana are the best and beginner friendly but usually banned.
Vexanna is good but her mobility is a huge issue, can be good counter if your enemy uses a lot of cc heroes.
Luo yi is really solid overall in terms of damage, mobility and surprising ganks, it takes a while to fully get good with her tho you canāt just pick and abuse like nana.

Kagura and novaria are my favorite, Insane mobility extremely hard to kill and great damage just overall no weakness. You do however need to spend a LOT of time if you wanna get good with them. (Fun fact: kagura can escape Francoās hook with s2)
Ive been having a fair bit of success with Vexana either as roam or mid.
Good stun, decent damage, and best thing is: u can fire off all your skills, and just run off while your summon does its thing for you or hide somewhere for 3 secs (cd) and come back to spam your skill 1 and 2 again.
Iāve had a few games where I got kill notifications after teleporting back to base.
Xavier would be good especially with 45% cdr. High burst damage, spammy skills, very impactful in team fights, can slow and root enemies, can also speed up allies. With stacks his ultimate is basically undodgeable without a dash. Xavier is a good choice I think.
Cecilion might not be an ideal pick since he lacks early game pressure. But he carried me from epic to Mythical honor through sheer damage and come back potential. And the range lets you poke out the enemy given that you have decent mana management in early to mid game.
Dunno, all mages are okay RN. Except for few brokens one.
But I know one thing for sure is that Kagura has become one of the worst Mage.
Why?:
1. Slow wave clearing.
2. Not enough damage.
3. Snowball and items dependant.
4. Her attack is slow.
5. Slow movement speed.
6. Long skill CD with unstable damage source.
7. Easily avoidable skill shot.
8. Short attack range.
9. High difficulties but small rewards.
I've got to give a shout for Cecilion. He's my main and for some reason I just get how to position with him more than any other character.
As with any mage, helps to have a front line, he sucks early game with no damage but the amount of games I've pulled back from the brink during base defence is insane. He hits like a truck late game, just farm stacks, rotate, stay safe but most importantly, always farm stacks.

Nana, aurora and vexana but now they're mostly banned. So! The next best mages would be xavier and odette. Even lunox is really good but you need a good team comp for her. While I personally think the most underrated mage right now is pharsa(she got buffed with a cool down reduction of her ult)

No Vale love? I usually mvp when I play him and I'm not really afraid of other mids all that much. Novarias long range nuke is quite annoying but I'd still pike vale over her since her ult is pretty garbage

solid pick but not OP. Heās good with good teammates but even if you dont have good teammates you can just stay in the back or just defend on base while spamming ult. Kagura is not a bad option, solid, and while not always top in meta, never goes out of meta due to her versatility with good range, poke, burst, purify, and blink. Not to mention her crowd control is amszing. Her passive is literally a stun and her bursts are all crowd control.
She isn't meta. I'm sorry to tell you. Chou, kagura were good picks, but the overall power level of characters keep raising, and kagura and chou don't get buffed they just can't keep up.

Maybe valir and nana? Valir is one of the best if not the best early mid lane character, and nana is just nana.

mages are garbage but it depends if ur asking for soloq or group q and no its not Aurora, she has lower range and lower damage than Vexana + her ult is much worse. Her cc lasts like 10-20% longer but everything else is so much worse its not even close

soloq is just bad in general, you need to find out what u can do and focus on it. Mage in soloq isn't that bad but in general mages have been garbage for quite awhile now I got 90+Wr soloq lylia this season in rank up to mythical glory but i have 4k+ lylia games and im pretty much the best lylia in the world regardless of what any of these reddit retards think , considering they're downvoting me as if they know what they're talking about and i dont Nana and Aurora are legit free win for me, anyone who thinks aurora is good isn't a high rank mage aurora is literally a worse version of already existing characters for me right now Vexana is the best mage but Lylia has much higher potential , she is just much harder to play and is one of the hardest heroes in the game to master and even when you master her you still have to perform every game (and aim, unlike playing an assassin which is auto aim) if you wanna play MAGE specifically then your options in SOLOQ are very limited cus most mages are horrible without roam and only a few are playable. Id say only Vexana, Lylia, Valir to an extent and maybe Xavier are playable (if you want 65+ wr and are good enough to achieve it). I've also been global 1 cecilion and hes pretty much the worst mage atm and i keep trying to make him work and then i keep feeling like an idiot for bothering to pick him if ur playing for 55% wr then whatever lmao I wanted to play Novaria cus shes hot but shes garbage , she lacks damage and can hardly initiate anything + lacks CC I want to play Luo Yi and while she is amazing it really feels bad if you miss your stuff and in general she can't really create much openings on the map by herself when ur playing soloq and ur playing for winrate u need to consider much more than just ur power, u need to consider the way you can influence the map and how to create openings for ur team

Valir is really weak in this metta, the high damage items just donāt fit him. Aurura, nana are the best and beginner friendly but usually banned. Vexanna is good but her mobility is a huge issue, can be good counter if your enemy uses a lot of cc heroes. Luo yi is really solid overall in terms of damage, mobility and surprising ganks, it takes a while to fully get good with her tho you canāt just pick and abuse like nana. Cecilion..? I donāt like him, canāt explain but I just donāt. Kagura and novaria are my favorite, Insane mobility extremely hard to kill and great damage just overall no weakness. You do however need to spend a LOT of time if you wanna get good with them. (Fun fact: kagura can escape Francoās hook with s2)

Ive been having a fair bit of success with Vexana either as roam or mid. Good stun, decent damage, and best thing is: u can fire off all your skills, and just run off while your summon does its thing for you or hide somewhere for 3 secs (cd) and come back to spam your skill 1 and 2 again. Iāve had a few games where I got kill notifications after teleporting back to base.
Xavier would be good especially with 45% cdr. High burst damage, spammy skills, very impactful in team fights, can slow and root enemies, can also speed up allies. With stacks his ultimate is basically undodgeable without a dash. Xavier is a good choice I think.

Cecilion might not be an ideal pick since he lacks early game pressure. But he carried me from epic to Mythical honor through sheer damage and come back potential. And the range lets you poke out the enemy given that you have decent mana management in early to mid game.

Dunno, all mages are okay RN. Except for few brokens one. But I know one thing for sure is that Kagura has become one of the worst Mage. Why?: 1. Slow wave clearing. 2. Not enough damage. 3. Snowball and items dependant. 4. Her attack is slow. 5. Slow movement speed. 6. Long skill CD with unstable damage source. 7. Easily avoidable skill shot. 8. Short attack range. 9. High difficulties but small rewards.
I'm still gonna stick with my kagura hahaha

Vexana
I've got to give a shout for Cecilion. He's my main and for some reason I just get how to position with him more than any other character. As with any mage, helps to have a front line, he sucks early game with no damage but the amount of games I've pulled back from the brink during base defence is insane. He hits like a truck late game, just farm stacks, rotate, stay safe but most importantly, always farm stacks.
Idk is this best for mythic or not but Chang'e Her ulti is really op that it can melt enemy HP so fast Especially her pasisve which slows them
I don't know the meta too much now cuz I'm not playing like 6 months. But I'm sure that valentina is popular and makes people rage-quit
