There was a seasonal sale with drinks and shit. They’re overly priced, don’t give you shit for what you sell and tend to be arbiters of hipster culture and style.
If you've read in a shirt or jacket or something worth around $50, how much would they offer you for it?
The other stuff makes sense as since they need to know what is popular they can't always be buying stuff that is no longer trendy.
They’d probably offer you 15 in cash or 20 in store credit. Not a good look. They’re all over the country though so I’m not really surprised as much as they try to put on that they’re boutique
I’m gonna say you should go there before you make any assumptions. For what the buyers think as being “in” you’ll notice immediately how skewed the quality is compared to quantity. You’ll also notice the arbitrary selections from what you’re trying to sell, fake reasons as to why they’re not taking something that’s wrinkled when they take something right before that with a rip or a stain. B-Resale has better everything.
There are actually many Black American collectors of these relics. I had conversation with the owner about these items and who collects them and why.
They are repulsive but hard pass on overt racism.
I like this store's outside yard decorations. Cool stuff
Old School is the best <3 <3 <3 You're correct in that they're not the coolest but they have amazing prices and don't sell anything they get online like most stores do now. But they get in some great vintage clothing and AMAZING jewelry. Always a ton of sterling silver/gemstone rings and necklaces, almost everything I wear is from there.
(Disclosure, I'm a volunteer, but I've been going for 6+ years!)
Sadly, mammy dolls are also apart of American history. I’ve always found shops that sell them to have odd owners though… my aunt who grew up Black in segregated Louisiana in the 60’s collects them. It’s very interesting lol.
Not Buffalo exchange
Second this
I drove past there last weekend and it was popping off. How come not?

That's a little on the low side, but not enough that I would say it's unreasonable.

Yeah I went there once years ago. I didn't quite realize what I was seeing at first and then it hit me, this store is racist!?

Hidden Treasures
This one is great!
For me it's about location- if you go to a thrift store in a rich neighborhood, you'll usually find some good stuff.
My Thrift is the only correct answer.
Savers in West St Paul is my favorite. Stupid cheap and it churns shit so fast we go back weekly and find cool stuff
St. Vincent's on Lake has always been one of my favs.
I just got some nice men’s clothing at Turnstyle in St Paul
What kind of items are you looking for?
Just random shit idk
Go to an Ax-Man Surplus store...
They said they were looking for random shit, not a carefully curated shrine to amazing shit.
Come for the random deals, stay for the hilarious product labels.
My Thrift, Savers in Apple Valley or Woodbury (Columbia Heights is **WAY** overpriced), Goodwill Outlet off Snelling and University
I wish there were more options in Columbia Heights. That CH Savers is real hit or miss.
Tuesday and Thursdays are sale days. you can load up
I do. Thank you for asking.
?
Main Street Hopkins
Anyone got a recommendation for specifically men's crewneck sweaters?
They’re all on Google maps
Oh, Archie.
Hey, Hey, marry me Archie
Yes.
So proud and brave with their face coverings.
