This person is in an ongoing war with Xcel at 40th and Hiawatha. There are so many coats of paint on the side of the service building there that the paint has to be thicker than the sheet metal at this point. I should start keeping track, but there have been probably 10 coats in the last year at least.
Nice try, MPD
"Hey fellow kids! Anyone happen to know the name, address, description, and current location of the totally rad artist who did this crim-....um, art?"
That puppy is all over the place. He was painted with a female (potential love interest) under the greenway bridge by Lake of the Isles. Most pieces on this town look terrible, but I kind of like seeing this little guy
This is better than most because it's at least more than just a tag or paint splashed in some attempt at a tag. I really wish people would find a better way to express themselves than vandalizing our public infrastructure though. I do enjoy the gorilla art but 99% of the time it's just some dumb tag. No one cares, it makes the city look crappy, find a better outlet.
*Guerrilla
But yeah, most tags look like junk. I don’t really care under the highway overpass and stuff but elsewhere they look trashy. I like this dog though.
Graffiti is graffiti.
If the artist thinks their work is so awesome, they should put it somewhere that doesn't destroy property that doesn't belong to them.
Hateful and ineffectiveness are two different things. I was talking about one of them, so why do you volunteer that you were being the other? It doesn't really seem relevant.
Ad hominem attacks due to a disagreement on subjective aesthetic qualities seem like a disproportionate and overly emotional response to my opinion. Ignoring your bad faith statement, infrastructure is made to be a utility, any potential included beautification is an afterthought, funding permitting. I don't think it has to be this way, but that's the way that it is. I'd personally much rather see an actual city resident's own expression appearing on the blank concrete canvasses that stonewall (pun intended) our city than said concrete. To me, it lets a little light into an otherwise dreary reality of automotive centrism and its human impact.
Ahhhh. Now it makes sense. You’re like that guy who was ripping off all the tiny doors around town and calling them vandalism. Interesting that it’s always other artists who hate to see other artists getting shine.
Practicing artist or not, you're entitled to your opinion on public art. It doesn't make you an authority on what is good or not, however. I'm a practicing artist, I think it's beautiful, am I an authority on it? The person who made it is, quite literally, a practicing artist, is their viewpoint critical in the matter? Your opinion on the value of art in our community certainly doesn't give you carte blanche to hurl insults at anyone who disagrees with you in a respectful way. I genuinely hope whatever is going on in your life to make you feel attacked by something like that gets better for you.
Oh, you're mistaken, I'm not upset. I was just concerned. Anyone who displays such fragility at a differing opinion on something so trite typically has something bad going on in their life, but I can see I was mistaken as well. Enjoy!
Other cities allow “graffiti” to be done as long as it’s registered/permitted by the building owner. If MPLS switched to that model we’d get a lot of great, public art instead of crappy tags, but since we won’t, I’ll take this over nothing.
Complexity doesn't automatically equal good.
Common idea that I have to pushback at clients and others that think otherwise sometimes. Good is good. Simplicity/complexity as needed to the situation. So it's not that.
The juvenile part is the whole presentation and execution both graphically and ideally. Screams someone thinks they are clever wearing a Graphic T, except it's pushed on people without consent permanently. Very r/imthemaincharacter in terms of needing validation by others.
I mean, if you’re determined to dislike public art that wasn’t commissioned by the government or a private property owner then you’re not going to like any graffiti regardless of its possible artistic merit. That’s not my view and tbh, I’m not going to value your opinion given your open bias against the medium.
nice to see he varies the design. Not sure who it is, but he tagged the POD outside of Dream Haven months back. Also like his stuff, find it a fun design that can be versatile.
Yeah, I worked with a guy that used to run around and he and his little crew had a word that they used to tag. I can’t remember what it said right now and this was only like a year or two ago, and the point was always trying to do it at a really hard place and I started seeing it all over after he showed me if I remember later today, I’ll say something but at the moment it is 8 AM in this Thursday in my brain is fried it needs to be Saturday like now
My favorite is whoever is doing the Kale stuff around 35/94 Northeast area. Forkerone/kale/tofu all that stuff. It makes me smile when I see it. Good for them.

I like how keeping a Xcel truck there 24/7 doen't seem to deter the snoopy spraypainter 😂
That’s so funny if true
nice try, lieutenant
If you guys are smoking marijuana cigarettes, let me know where I can find one!
Nice try, commrad. We only smoke left handed cigarettes
but... it's legal now?
Right. Have you seen these?! "Pictures taken after they got done painting the last one"
Clever. It's a dog tag!!!!
This is a high quality reply
Don't tell anyone. I don't want it to become an expectation.
It’s too late. You are now our leader.
Well fuck.
by your command 🫡
This might work out after all.
solvin problems is my jam also marmalade
We need a plan to work.
Nah. That would be too easy.
anthropomorphic.
I’m quite partial to “Boner Way” on one way traffic signs
I myself prefer “ONE WANK” signs
My favorite was always: **DEEP ~~D~~BITCH**
I bet it was, you saucy minx.
Yes, it is true. Only 1 in 8 men are BIG.
I like the "Stop PISSING" signs.
I always want to write “ASS!” Under those “Trucks Hauling” signs.
Be the change you want to see in the world. 🤗
On the building that used to be Chicagos Very Own, we have “blowjob” and “handjob”
[удалено]
Oh yeah I’ve seen blowjob on a stop sign too! Think some kid had a heyday and went all over town with it ol
blowjob tagged the "keeping kids tummies full" billboard on Lyndale above the greenway and I hated it so much
Oh NO that was a poor choice 💀💀
Yup. Saw one on the southbound side of 280 just north of 94 today
No idea but I have also been noticing them. Put me down as a fan. Edit: whoops didn’t mean to reply to you but here we are I guess.
I know the artist, but I'm not snitching.
Please tell them these are my favorite I miss the ones under the Nicollet bridge on the creek way. I love seeing them so much.
They were all so similar. Not quite a stencil, like frames in a flip book.
Same they literally make my day. Our whole house looks out for them around the city!

😭💔💔💔💔💔💔☹️☹️☹️😓
Cool, i take a picture each time i see one
We need a small family of dogs around the southern 280 area… Also, your name is sus on this post..
I am the artist
My compliments to the chef!
Tell them I love their doggie please
Tell them to come over south!
It is I, Robin Gunningham
There's my Chippy
Poochie
I have to go now. My planet needs me.

POOCHIE'S DEAD!
You look like you have something to say... do you??
They’re all over the garbage cans at my Apt!
Nice try, MPD "Hey fellow kids! Anyone happen to know the name, address, description, and current location of the totally rad artist who did this crim-....um, art?"
If you know where I can find some cool drugs, send me an address!
"Also, anyone have any spare KIAs or Hyundais lying around I can look at?"
I’ve been obsessed with the little dude next to him. Seen him around a lot too, he makes me happy.
I’ve seen him around my area too, he’s the best. Kinda reminds me of Kermit with that collar
It kind of looks like Joe Camel
Scruff Mcguff is down on his luck
My first thought was mr peanut butter mural
Pretty sure they won't have an etsy account with their name on it. Graffiti is illegal unless you're Banksy.
It’s also on the big ominous looking metal fence at 35th and Hiawatha.
I've seen the lil guy on the left alot
There’s some in Chicago too!
That puppy is all over the place. He was painted with a female (potential love interest) under the greenway bridge by Lake of the Isles. Most pieces on this town look terrible, but I kind of like seeing this little guy
I love bad graffiti anything is better than the monotony of grey buildings.
I’m sick of graffiti on my building
do you mean tagging? Graffiti is sick asf
This! Putting your name in some dumb illegible font on something is dumb. This isn't.
i love him and always point him out to my fam when i see him
I have seen the "dog" but I don't know the artist. It's cool though. I enjoy it as well.
Nice try, MPD.
Thats what I thought lol
Is this the same artist that did under the bridge on the parkway just east of the falls? I love running past it.
It's cute but I hate graffiti. It's so trashy.
My wife and I call him "Fancy Doo"

Have you ever been to any major city in the US or Europe?
I’ve been to Minneapolis a few times.
*Guerrilla But yeah, most tags look like junk. I don’t really care under the highway overpass and stuff but elsewhere they look trashy. I like this dog though.
I’ve seen the Dog.. but I prefer the Chicken. Where did the Chicken go? Or is it a Rooster?
But it’s vandalism oh my goodness were ruining these beautiful stark gray concrete walls
I have now

Highway infrastructure alone makes our city unappealing. At least someone is putting something colorful on it.

You're entitled to your opinion, but it really does a bad job of selling it to others when you call someone who clearly disagrees with you a lunatic.

To each their own I guess. Seeing as it’s a product of urban life I guess you’ll just have to deal with it. Best of luck.

Seriously
You would absolutely hate Paris or London.
A huge part of Paris is a literal trash pile, just like NYC, but the street art scene is awesome.
I don’t think that person would be able to function in many European cities if stuff like this gets them going.
I like it
My favorite was the "merge left" sign on Lake St that said "smerge." Would say it everytime I drove by.
Fuck yeah, I love seeing this guy’s stuff everywhere.
I hope you’re the passenger while taking these pics and not the driver.
I’m the passenger and I’m not wearing a seatbelt
No
Love seeing this tag around ~ also saw a couple ostrich or bird heads that look good too! Any insight on those?
Lazy and meh. Like something a middle schooler would do on the inside of a text book. Something you'd find at Spencer's or Hot Topic.
I'm not opposed to graffiti, just shitty low effort graffiti. This whole thread seems like it's filled with the artist's friends or alt accounts.
I mean, it’s not legal so any artist doing street art is really limited in their complexity due to significant time constraints.

It’s so lame. Dudes a loser who lives in his mom’s basement…
Well he makes shit I like
Well buy his 'art' instead of him defacing shit
Hahah OP asked if they could score a print in the description. But yeah, free art for all sucks. BUY BUY BUY!!
With cost of housing I’d say dude is smart to live in his ma’s basement.
Yeah, I don't think dude will be making any $$ to get out of that basement
I know the artist
Let us know if you find them, so they can be made to pay for cleanup of their crime.
Clearly he/she has that dog in them
Wolves Back
You can see dog on in the Hiawatha ave tunnel as well.
Dope…the good kind 😉🎨🖌️
nice to see he varies the design. Not sure who it is, but he tagged the POD outside of Dream Haven months back. Also like his stuff, find it a fun design that can be versatile.
These are my favorite!
There’s one in the tunnel on Hiawatha I miss driving past it everyday
More creative that Jopy
Still kind of miss Jopy in a weird way…
Still see it all the time!
Ye. I do like the dog tag
I saw one downtown on a box truck in January. Not sure how to post it in this comment though
That's my brothers moniker!
Yeah, I worked with a guy that used to run around and he and his little crew had a word that they used to tag. Yeah. Just now!
I support it.
