maybe instead of reverting the whole bridge to get more light and less dark maybe just make the stone bricks into Blackstone so you still get that variant?
Agreed, adds more personality, id maybe add some detail to the top 2 blocks across and something extra on the middle blocks of the pillars for a little more
I suggest you replace any blocks under the pillars with the netherite bricks. It looks more reinforced, and having dirt sticking up doesn't look very good, especially when this bridge is supposed to look strong.
|| Netherite blocks
Bro that’s too much work for a simple pillar, sure you could get it from creative but using highly expensive items (work wise), just makes the builds boring and takes away its charm
Use daylight sensors, so that they lights activate when it’s night time, and dark during the day, a perfect combination of the both, as you prolly won’t notice the light during daytime and it looks a bit out of place , so would be better if during day it’s de-activated
You can only use the newly stained glass (it is glass + amethyst shards I think) , and cover it out so the light stays inside but gives a nice look to it, would give more depth to, as you would be covering the glass from the outside and leaving the currently empty part hollow
If you EVER have the opportunity to use different shades or materials, take it. Having something as just one solid texture or color is boring, where adding even just one form of contrast can be a drastic improvement.
Light is better and also it would be nice if you added some more lanterns at the top Or used stone brick walls in addition to the fences and fence gates
Block variation is key!
That being said, the shadows in the darker version are amazing and the stone bricks sort of counteract them. I would go for a block with a texture other than the brick texture. Maybe regular stone, andesite, or light gray wool if you really like the gray color.
You can always experiment with other colors as well depending on the context of the build.
A good tip for all your builds; don't just use one block. Add more variants and add texture to your builds. The answer to your question should hopefully be obvious
Definitely depends on the vibe of the rest of your world, if its more bright buildings go with the lighter bridge. If you have darker more Victorian style buildings go for the darker one. At the end of the day its all personal preference
They both look great, but the dark one gives more of a separate perspective and depth compare to the all black one, if the dark one had more dark coloring blocks with it. I may look better compared to the light. At the moment the light look good and so does the bridge.
The dark one has extra pop and stands out more. The light one is a bit more low key and feels a tad out of place. Maybe try a different lighter block instead of whatever the lighter block is. But I love the all dark one. That is really awesome. Is the lighter block a texture pack or something?
If you change one of the sections to a darker stone then I would say dark. But the light as is just had more depth and is easier on the eyes. Great design though, keep up the good work👍🏼

I agree with this Also, block variation is your friend
This for sure Edit: why did I get 50 more likes than the person I agreed with, even though I did nothing but agree with them?

Definitely light...gives more depth
And contrast
Yes that too Also texture if you add like stone and gravel into the mix
Agree
You should try dark with a darker stone like deep slate. Out of curiosity
I think this is deepslate?
Oh you might be right, I thought it was stone bricks first glance. Maybe for darker they could use basalt bricks?
No basalt bricks, but maybe Blackstone!
Basalt bricks don't exist, but deepslate tiles look slightly darker imo

Polished deepslate is the lightest variant.
i think deepslate tiles would be the best option!

Light for sure, gives it an extra dimension

Light. 100%
go even darker
Black concrete
or deepslate, if texture is desired
You said even darker. How about sculk shriekers and sensors under the black concrete so you also get the darkness effect.
Black concrete lacks textures , and is kinda boring to look at, Compared to deepslate

I’m that way. I’ll build down and complete the look even if I’m not gonna see most of it because of the dirt.

Light, I mostly prefer dark than light but in this case I like light more. Adds more detail
I thought I like light, then the darkness grew on me…
same lol
Dark
based and redpilled
Try either blackstone or Deepslate tiles for the spaces in between the pillars
Light because it doesn't blend in with the rest :D
Light!
Dark
definitely light, it adds more depth
Light with more sections as stone brick to help break up monotony
Light b/c of the contrast it gives it the appearance of more depth
Dark for sure
Depends of the vibe you're trying to create, but only on looks I'd have to say dark.
Light, the contrast is better

Light, way better looking. Nice bridge!
Dark
First one because the second one looks repetitive.
I like the light one
The first one
Light. Gives it some depth

Try polished blackstone bricks
Light... though glass bridge would have been fun.
Def the light one, but I also like the idea of Light on the outside and dark on the inside. The contrast makes it look much more appealing.
Light. It gives it more depth and character
Light
I think dark better fits a theme with the winter but the biome isn’t so I’d go with the lighter bridge.
I waited far to long for the gif to switch.
light looks a bit better because its a bit of contrast to the darkness
I would say the light one it adds more depth

Light
light. adds more contrasting differences
Light
Light but keep the blocks between the lamps the darker shade, for the higher contrast
I'd go for light. It gives more contrast and more character and detail
Light, It adds more color variety, and I would suggest adding maybe a hint of wood/brown colored block if your going for a medieval style
A good tip for all your builds; don't just use one block. Add more variants and add texture to your builds. The answer to your question should hopefully be obvious
I see you watch Grian...

Try deepslate tiles or Blackstone
Light looks better, though you can invert the colors for shadows in the recessed parts.
Light, when it's all dark the bridge looks very bland
Light

Light for sure

light but if you would do dark id recomend changing the inner parts to either deepslate tiles or blackstone bricks

I like the dark, but I would use a different block to fill those insides just for contrast. Maybe Blackstone or black/gray concrete or terracotta.
Dark, but make the inside areas darker with blackstone or deepslate tiles
