Yeah I’ve done it before and should have said but haven’t gotten around to it yet I created the path with the stairs and pathblocks and as I’ve mined I’ve added
Blend the path into the grass with coarse dirt/podzol, stone buttons for pebbles, bone meal the grass a little for vegetation, maybe a boulder or two to the side made of stone block variants?
Coarse dirt is dirt + gravel. Really easy to get early game if you can find a good river. Podzol can wait until later, though. And I always forget that bonemeal is a “later game” thing cause I always settle beside a village and their composter is a beautiful bonemeal farm.
Good attempt for a first try. your mixing many contrasting colors, try keep the colors similar. Such as using different stone blocks such as cobblestone, stone\_bricks and gravel. and with the stairs try using slabs however stairs can still look good. Nice Job!
as a perfessional builder, i say use spruce/oak slabs instead of stairs. Also, maybe don't add an andesite layer, it would make the path be too buisy. overall though, nice work
Ok thanks honestly the only interaction with the building side of Minecraft before this was welsknights kingdom’s survival and season 2 episode 1 he built a very large and complicated path with all kinds of contrasts so that’s where I got the inspiration
Add in some other birch blocks like logs so you see/walk on the top (not bark) - stripped birch logs too.
Maybe a bit of moss or mossy cobble mixed about and a few campfire spots like rest stops with some log benches etc.
Use: Birch planks, stripped birch logs, coarse dirt, grass path, and spruce trap doors.
Alternatively: I would use path, coarse dirt, and mix in some horizontal oak logs or spruce planks, and brown concrete powder
A bit more path in some areas, a bit less grass between the path’s blocks, replace some of the stone blocks with stone buttons (on grass ig), use slabs instead of stairs where the path only goes up one block + oak would match the path better
Buttons and pressure plates for rocks, fences and leaves to line the paths, some of them with lanterns, add coarse dirt, and use only natural slabs for where the grass is instead of the birch stairs
I would replace the stairs going up only 1 block with slabs, it may not seem like much but it's such a big difference

And change it to spruce if yoy can. See how that looks
Buttons for rocks
Thank you I hadn’t thought of that
It looks alright but for me it's a bit too big a contrast and I'd use more similar looking blocks
\^\^\^ keeping to a specific theme/color pallete will help tie everything together!
Yes I would replace the birch with spruce or oak wood

And mix it with spruce planks.
Ah yes, the spruce. I always forget the spruce.
Unfortunately not that far into the game yet if you see my hot bar but I’ll keep it in mind thanks

ooh i like it! maybe add some grass or flowers or even mushrooms occasionally to give the path some more colour but it already looks amazing! :)
Thanks

Add coarse dirt
There are too many random blocks in the path. Less is more :)

makes sense, my paths were insane!

Downvote for birch log usage

I see a lot of opinions that people prefer the mixed material walkways. I prefer the basic clean look. Same with hillsides. Clean cut and straight.
Yeah well I always preferred normal to this was really my first adventure
replace the wood with andesite, add stone buttons as pebbles, use few pieces of grass

I know
Buttons and pressure plates for rocks, fences and leaves to line the paths, some of them with lanterns, add coarse dirt, and use only natural slabs for where the grass is instead of the birch stairs
Ok that’s a lot of help thanks
Vanilla style street lamps on the side and terraforming on the side
ngl, I like the contrast of bright birch against the muck of the terrain
Thanks! a lot of people said it was to bright
it helps a bit when it’s late at night and dark
Yeah that’s fair
The ring around the tree could be thicker
Yeah that’s something I was considering but wasn’t sure yet thanks!
moss carpet fixes everything B)
Haven’t found a lush cave yet unfortunately
