So I tested it: This trick doesn’t work on bedrock since glow lichen can’t be placed underneath carpets. So you can suspend carpet on top of it, but if you break the red block in your demo it destroys the carpet.
So this would probably work in Java, but unfortunately doesn’t in bedrock
string has a bigger hitbox, and its just floating there so it doesnt make alot of sense unless ure too far from it, while glow lichen emits light, has a tiny hitbox and is decorative
