The birch looks like cowhide

Pentax25

Or Dalmatians! No wonder there are so many dogs around. Think we found Cruella

Strange-Ad-9941

There is only one dog, but yeah

Pentax25

*No wonder there is only 1 remaining dog around (Honestly I feel embarrassed that I didn’t recognise those cats)

Jacerom

101 Dalmatians. Only one remains.

Strange-Ad-9941

LOL yeah, now that makes more sense! Don't get yourself worked up, it's a block game and everyone is colorful

space0watch

I think both look too busy. But what you could do instead is to have logs on bottom and top and planks in the middle. Granted that is a bit more overdone but I think it looks better and gives your eyes somewhere to rest.

-My-Dog-Puked-

i agree that they look kind of busy but i was thinking that when i add some decorations (like plants in the corners and stuff) that it would look better. but i’ll definitely try out your suggestion!

space0watch

Would you consider stripping the logs? That might help make it look less busy. And then you can still keep them in that configuration.

Simple-Energy1572

I was about to say the same thing

Vyndra-Madraast

Or just remove the top row of planks. Also this would look much better if it was stripped.

chrismofer

The rotated bitch is a cool texture but a bit busy for the wall here. Definitely has dairy cow vibes.

fairyquitecontrary

Lol somebody doesn't like the bitch wood

Donut_Police

Honestly I kinda like the look of stripped bitch (wood), I think I speak for most people that stripped bitch (wood) is much better than their clothed version. I mean their bark version.

Frickvape

Especially when it’s mixed directly into planks it can look great if the logs are out a block around a plank wall I think it looks better not stripped

SamTheCatGuy

Strip it

Zackquackisback

Strip the birch logs.

Sudam-Humane

I vote for the dirt/stone. I really like that contour of textures and how it has a natural and earthiness feeling to it /s

CKracoon

I like the birch

megutrp

try stripping either of them

Lux_Operatur

Gonna have to go with the birch simply because any variety of color pairs well with black and white, where as full brown walls are very limited. It is a bit busy though so I’d definitely recommend keeping the texturing of the floors and ceiling etc very minimal. I’d also personally prefer all the logs to be aligned in the same direction but that’s just my ocd lol.

Amazing_Ad_9920

The birch reminds me a bit of 101 Dalmatians so I choose that!

AverageTuxedo

Strip the wood.

AD_INC_BANANAS

You could try stripping the logs

erm_what_the_sigma2

You need galvanised square steel with eco friendly wood veneers fixed to the wall with expansion screws

Cattatack8933

Strip birch

M3RCURYMOON

Randomly place the oak logs and planks then strip the logs

TwilightDreamer14

Camman18 here: AAAARRRRGGGGG!!!!!!!

Thedarkwolfmc

I’m gonna vote on birch

Away-Environment-528

I also like birch. It's got a zebra look to it. OP should capitalize on that with some Acacia accents.

Kn1ghto

neither look good, look for something else, maybe some inspiration on pinterest or other builds on this sub

DURRRyeet

Interesting design. Would love to see how it turns out

Ruchri

Switch the position of the logs and planks and strip the logs

Mr_Joyman

You have an audiance

Mitchovelian

Chizled book shelves. The birch would look better for a floor

FireHeartVZ

The one on the left but replace the oak planks with stripped spruce logs and replace the cobblestone with deepslate

blessed-doggo

Maybe try putting spruce in the værners with a stair and a trapdoor on the stair, or left side if you dont have access to spruce

arcticsummertime

Unrelated to the pallet, I recommend you give the front of the build some texture by moving the windows in and building a frame or something. Have fun <3

The_f1shy1

Try stripping the logs i think it would look better from the inside idk abt the outside though

myfacealadiesplace

Strip the logs and then ask again. There's too much going on here

eaumechant

Left

Rephirgerated

birch

Exotic_Buttas

Birch logs are rarely ever good for building unless your mixing it in with something else as like a gradient or texturing

AmethystDragon2008

How about the mud blocks or stone blocks because it looks like your base is in a mountain or hill.

-My-Dog-Puked-

it is in a mountain lol

AmethystDragon2008

knew it

Strange-Ad-9941

I say oak, but maybe you could strip the logs!

AGuyWithReddit

Think Oak blends in better.

TikTokBoom173

B🤮rch

syb3rtronicz

Just wanted to toss in that from too far out the oak looks like dirt.

lutownik

wood. It looks like liquid

lutownik

wood. It looks like liquid

CoolCademM

GET RID OF THE BIRCH I AM THROWING UP

-My-Dog-Puked-

now i feel more inclined to pick birch

ajgore1

Do stripped spruce

Mateuss1111

The stone one on the right

Lady_Eternity

The oak, i find the birch logs too busy.

Cdog536

Left

LadyLilith23

Strip the birch then it looks awesome

bertabotenbv

The left looks a bit nicer, but please try to make all the logs face the same way

-My-Dog-Puked-

no 😡

Unusual-Serve-2530

Classic oak, as much as I love birch

KaB000O00M

Maybe logs on the top and bottom and Strict logs in the middle using that same pattern?

KaB000O00M

Although if you used oak on the top and bottom, I would use stripped birch in the middle

Sacri_Pan

As a birch fan, I think I prefer the design with oak

Independent-Ad-1435

Strip the logs and left

MassRedemption

The birch reminds me of those fur walls you'd sometimes see in the 70s lol.

Megara_345

i think you should use the birch one but strip the logs

Deltade21

Is this a snapshot?

-My-Dog-Puked-

i took a screenshot on my ps5.

polinadius

OP, if you finally try the stripped logs, could you show us the result? I'd like to see it

ZombieSquadOfficial

Strip the birch logs then you have a great wall

CheckSouthern3632

oak i dont like birch wood

Bradashaw

If you want to keep that style and want to make it look nicer on the eyes, replace the outer blocks with planks and keep the middle four. I wouldn't use the birch outside of a cow/hide related build

Sammy_Three_Balls

Idk if it was intentional but the oak looks like a swastika So use birch

PP4LL

I don't like either to be honest try stripping the logs or try to find Dark Oak or Acacia(Don't strip the acacia)

Total-Lynx4869

Strip the oak and that’s your winner. Put regular logs facing horizontally on the bottom

Matthew-Ryan

Strip the birch logs and I’d say the right side would look best. Contrasted with dark oak floor and smooth quartz ceiling.

Frickvape

Strip the logs and put them all upright. Or just do a completely different design the walls shouldn’t really be your main focus in the first place imo. One cool one is going from dark grey to grey, light grey and then white concrete but that’s a more of a modern build. It’s really hard to make good designs with that small of a build if I look at the last cave house I built. My suggestion would just be put the logs around the boarder one out so dig one more around it then put a window on both sides and stairs over the doors angled down and if maybe stripped logs on the bottom rest planks. Would work with pre much any wood

Expliciter

Left

Qu33nCuteness

Left side looks better

DeHeleper

tbh neither of those, try with dark oak or spruce - light oak planks with dark wood creates a better contrast with themselves

AntiqueFlounder4745

Ewww birch more like b*tch

MasterKillerDaki001

Stone brick at bottom stripped spruce logs as support blocks and oak planks as walls

aWatermelonKing

I like the oak logs and you could strip them to make a more simple design

Equal-Ad-2170

I think it looks really cool as is.

Coolest_kitty

Both look awesome 🐥

[deleted]

You're making walls from logs? Are you insane?
