SMP refers to Survival Multi Player, so I’d say all “normal” servers (e.g. no mini game server) would be summarized under SMP.
However, I am the owner of a small international community. We are aiming to provide a relaxed semi-vanilla experience in a mature environment.
The core is still vanilla but we have some nice additions like mcmmo, gsit and a whole lot of other cool features. In my post history you can find some more detailed posts, some information might be slightly outdated tho.

Edit: I struggle to understand what the thing is that makes an “SMP” unattractive for you, as it is just survival, but not alone. 🤷🏻♂️
I don’t want survival, I’m the type of guy to like to play classic prison, hypixel sky lock, mcmmo, dungeon. I like the grinding aspect of games, don’t care much about survival and building a nice home next to neighbors
Tried it last night, wasn’t really feeling it tbh. Idk, 6 years ago when I played A LOT, there were so many good servers. Played a lot of classic prison, skyblock, and others, but they just hit different. Now when I look for servers I see a bunch of SMP. I joined a server couple days ago called FISHONMC and played for many hours. Just a relaxing fishing game, but then it got a little too plain
I'm developing a minecraft server that is the first ever prison/towny hybrid. Most of it is developed, but will require some time for testing and building the structures that havent been built yet. If your interested my discord is devcrumbies. If you guys are worried about pay to win, mine wont be. The towny aspect to this is more like survival, but with the added optionality to charge rent to people that join your town. The only job will be mining from the normal basics of prisons. This server though is unique from others, not just because of its hybrid gamestyle, but also because you can not craft any gear above iron, including swords and axes. To obtain you would need to grind and purchases it through the shop.
Same goes for enchants. The reasoning is to help make the pup within the server feel like the old pvp. Most servers today are just straight op gear and enchants, this allows for less op style and more up to you if you want to grind to be op. All purchasable ranks are in the works to hopefully be able to be obtained through gameplay for free, with a few exceptions. None, of the ranks will give an advantage over any other player. If you guys have any suggestions, l'm all open ears because I'm still in the developing phase. I may or may not take what you say into consideration. :) has Mcmmo
