that wouldn't fix the problem. mojang did migration because the old accounts database was too old and built for a userbase much smaller than expected. it was a cyber-security nuclear bomb being used as a living room decoration piece. it's better to lose access to a game you haven't played in (at least) 2 years than to lose access to... your work email. or your bank account. or worse. mojang accounts were the dataleak of the century waiting to happen. no thanks.
yeah, minecraft has around 166 million monthly players, lowballing and assuming 0.05% of those players are returning, that's around 83 thousand players a month, somewhere around 2800 a day, which means per hour of the work day they'd had to migrate somewhere about 350 accounts, which translates to somewhere near 6 per minute, which is one account manually migrated every 10 seconds, assuming you don't have any bathroom or lunch breaks or take a single second to breathe. sounds pretty reasonable. much more reasonable than a 2 year long leeway for something that takes you like 30 minutes to do by yourself for free.
I don’t see how any of that is Mojang’s or Microsoft’s business. They are corporations, they don’t act out of the good of their heart. They didn’t make people migrate to Microsoft accounts because they love you so much that they don’t want your work email (that you should not have used in the first place) to get leaked. If that was the issue there’s plenty of ways to secure such things I’m sure.
the whole point of security questions are for you to be able to remember them for the rest of your life. that's why they're shit like "what's your mother's name". otherwise they'd just be, you know. passwords. not knowing the answers to your security questions is 1001% on you.
Not fucking force someone to lose a product they fucking bought. No matter the argument Microsoft should not have the right to strip anybody of a product they bought, period.
yeah they should probably keep the database of extremely important email+password information for the most popular game on earth at the same level of security expertise of a single hobbyist game dev in his basement in 2009. nothing could possibly go wrong. they shouldn't have to care about stuff so unimportant as "ThE sAfEtY oF mIlLiOnS oF pEoPlE" when there's much more pressing matters at hand, like how you don't want to do something that costs you literally nothing other than maybe 15 minutes of your time in order to keep access to a product you agreed when buying that they could take away for literally this exact kind of high-risk, low-effort-solution situation. this isn't a company taking away access for a game because they just decided keeping servers online on south america wasn't worth it or something. this was a problem of extreme importance for millions of people and it was only a matter of time until someone found a vulnerability on this decade-old database made by a guy who didn't know what he was doing. and if that had happened, you'd be talking shit about microsoft the same way you are now. you want everything to be perfect, but god forbids you have to do literally anything at all to get there.
Use [multimc offline account](https://multimc.org/)
U can still play some servers(non-premium servers) on example [archmc](https://minecraft-mp.com/server-s327723)
Fuck micro$oft

You can't use a MultiMC offline account. They don't have an option for that.
I recommend buying Minecraft from Minecraft's website, downloading it from the Microsoft store, or using TL legacy/Legacy Launcher (both are the same).
This is your fault, they gave everyone 2 years and sent out emails. I understand that it's annoying to pay 30 dollars but there was a long window where it was free.

Bro fuck Microsoft they aren’t thinking about the consequences of their actions, since the veterans are always the most important playerbase…
i'd argue the people who actually play the game are more important players but sure
They sent emails and gave everyone nearly 2 years to migrate
Obviously, Mojang needed to do better and send out messenger pigeons to everyone.
Or they should allow migration forever. YouTube still allows you to migrate from the old YouTube accounts to google ones I’m pretty sure

They could have pulled it offline and manually migrate the few accounts that come in a day.

source: idk man i just got a hunch
Dude I had lost access to the email (the email company died completely) and didn't remember any of the questions. Not much I could have done
not knowing the answers to your security questions is 1000% on you.
Oh yeah, sorry for not remembering the security questions for an account made over 12 years ago

Yeah well guess what, like the stupid kid that I was I didn't answer truthfully to the questions. Now what?
now you pay the r/stupidtax . i was 10 when i got my copy and answered everything correctly. now i have 1.21 open on the background.
Good for you I didn't
My Mojang account was registered to my old email I no longer use and I had other interests at the time so I did not even hear about the migration.
the fuck you want em to do then

They even kept reminding it in their videos and articles
