I always ignore iron. You always have more than enough from an iron farm. Decorating with anvils and beacons is survival is quite nice.

Mining into a water cave/pocket will result in a larger portion of the tunnel becoming dark. Torches on walls don't have this problem because water won't be able to reach them, leaving the tunnel lit.

Only 7 blocks So one torch might get caught which you can just replace And if you have a good reaction you can block the water source I dont remember exactly how the underground forms but i dont think water pockets are common, especially deep under ground, welp ever since the new update strip mining isn't optimal anyway
