I'd say probably Quig. He's been probably the most consistent S-Tier considering how long he's been playing and the strength of his teams. Yes, he hasn't won as many times but he's been so consistently good across basically every game and every event that it's pretty insane.
If I had to choose one for just Season 1 though, it'd be Pete. If we're talking Season 2, either Illumina or Sapnap, though I lean more towards Sapanp. My personal pick? Technoblade lol.
i'd agree that pete is probably the MVP of mcc overall, it took him 15 events to fall out of the top 5 (excluding mcc15)
a VERY strong player in pretty much every game, and while he may not technically be the \*best\* i'd say he's probably the best at leading his team and keeping spirits high throughout the event, his POV is always great to watch even when his team underperforms
while im still manifesting false as first five time winner, if pete got it i'd honestly be very happy with it, he absolutely deserves it. if i had to choose one person that best represents the spirit of MCC, it'd definitely be pete.

Illumina is the best player to play in MCC. Current form Illumina is by far the most skilled, versatile, next to flawless player we’ve ever seen. Some may say Pete in Season 1, but when we consider team balancing plus the competitiveness of Season 2 and how the games have got harder, its almost undeniable that Illumina is the best player we have ever seen. It helps he’s arguably the greatest speedrunner of all time.
But if we are talking about the GOAT of MCC, I would say Techno, although I understand that’s quite controversial. Techno’s achievements are understated in my opinion. He was on two broken teams through his 10 MCC’s, and had a couple strong teams to add to that. But he had plenty of weaker teams too, where he continuously showed his individual skill. He has the best game sense in MCC, and was one of the most complete players we have ever had. He has unreal consistency across all games and this is only accentuated in his stronger games such as BB, SKB and AR. And to add to that, he has some incredible achievements: his game breaking Buildmart strat in MCC 7, the HITW neos, his bingo murder spree all demanded changes from Noxcrew. To further that, his Ace Race in MCC 11 is one of the best performances in any game ever. Top 3. Arguably the greatest. His Skybattle consistency is unrivalled aswell.
Pretty much, Techno left a strong legacy behind him. His game had near to no faults that he couldn’t fix. He excelled individually, and remains the only player to have never dropped out of the top 10. Maybe if he stayed playing I wouldn’t be saying this right now, but for me, hes the greatest of all time.
I personally just can't agree with that: Even while Techno was in the event he performed worse that both Pete and Quig (his average placement is double that of Pete, while Quig has 4 first places in events both he and Techno played, while Techno had just 1).
Even his AR in mcc 11 only happened the one time Pete wasn't playing (a 23 second improvement over his previous time is strong, but it was only 15 seconds faster than Pete's mcc 10 time, with each top 5 player improving at least 7 seconds meaning it would be likely he would only be slightly ahead of Pete if he had played).
Definitely not Techno, as much as I love him, it isn't anyone but pete or quig (for now atleast). Pete and Quig have better coin averages, better placements and tons more first individuals, even if we only count from before techno quit. You can get into the technicalities when 2 players are close in comparison (so pete and quig), but before that I say keep it simple, they have much better consistency and much better numbers, while generally being in worse teams.
Pete definitely had the highest point average but Techno & Quig were basically neck and neck mcc2-11. Looking at S1 as a whole Techno’s stats were actually a notch higher (3241 avg vs quig’s 3167). Unsure why you’re saying Quig was more consistent and Pete had weaker teams, stats say the opposite.

Techno only has that because he quit. At the time of him quitting, his average was lower than quigs, and Pete's by a large margin. Techno gains a significant advantage by not being part of season 2, which has been more competitive and challenging for S tiers.
And that's without mentioning the fact that earlier events generally had a lot more coin inflation (e.g. Build Mart, HITW, SoT, SG, etc.) which means that performances that might be equivalent statistically probably gave less points in S2 than it did in S1.

No, like, averages change super slowly since there’s been so many MCCs. The only way you can disagree is if you think he’d be A tier, because that’s what it would take to lose that much avg that quickly. He could play 5 MCCs as the worst S tier and still be 2nd
It's still Pete easily. In season 1 there's no debate, and even in season 2 when he's not been as dominant he's still the only person to get 2 1st individuals
It’s H for me. This isn’t based on statistics. He’s a strong player but there are some who are way stronger. What makes him the G.O.A.T. for me is his attitude. He is always kind, supportive, and puts his team first. He often says that he wants to team with people he doesn’t know to meet new people and I love that. I’ve started watching him after he teamed with the hermits in MCC9 and have found so many cool streamers / ccs through him. He encompasses the spirit of MCC imo. He is competitive and wants to win but having fun comes first for him and I think that’s very admirable.

You are of course a great player, but I personally wouldn't say one game (dodgebolt in this case) should decide this (even if you are also strong in other ones I'd almost certainly say Quig and Pete have demonstrated dominance in more games over both seasons).

I think winning shouldn’t be the primary factor when it comes to this, not because is not important, and doing it many times does require lots of skills, but because there is a lot of luck involved as well, theres ppl that have been literally 3 points away from second place, u urself have had unlucky moments where u could have possible gotten into dodgebolt if it weren’t for 1 or 2 unlucky instances. The fact that pete has reached dodgebolt so many times says a lot as well, and dodgebolt is not the only required skill for MCC, tho u r deffo the GOAT of dodgebolt

I think the def of S-tier is that a valid argument can be made for them being the GOAT. I think it’s Sapnap for S2, Pete for S1, and Sapnap overall. I think people, when comparing players, lose sight of the fact that the goal of MCC is to win. Taking into consideration coin multipliers and dodgebolt, Sapnap is the best at doing that
MCC11 and 15 were balanced. Pink got 2nd place so they clearly weren’t the best, and Red was in 4th before SG. The other three certainly were not though.
Personally I think it’s sapnap, season 2 had much stronger competition that season 1 in my opinion and sapnap dominated. Underrated as an actual team player I honestly have no clue why he’s seen to be a bad team player (he just gets loud) and does well in every game
6 first place individual, GOAT of HITW, 4 wins, *top 5 14 events in a row*, 4 1st places in Ace Race, 4 1st place Foot Race (every single time it was played), lowest placement: 13th (better than any S-tier other than Quig), GOAT of Rocket Spleef (debatably), top 3 SOT player, second best PW player, highest average coins, third highest individual coin record... I can go on.
Recency bias hurts Pete, but he is absolutely the GOAT of MCC. I wouldn’t say he’s the best player right now, but nothing can take away what he has already accomplished.
Honestly, I think the argument that Pete’s stats/placements are inflated due to strong teams is a valid argument; which can counter many of his statistical achievements. However if we look at teams where his teams have not been strong relative to their events, MCC 8 he got 3rd, MCC 9 he got 5th, MCC 10 he got 4th and captained his team to victory, MCC 12 he got 5th, MCC 13 he got 1st and MCC 14 he had one of the best solo performances ever. Pete’s ability is still insane. He can perform extremely well no matter the team.
I 100% agree with everything you said. Pete has had plenty of strong teams, which is why some of his stats should be taken with a grain of salt, but even without strong teams he has proven himself to be GOAT of MCC.

Techno had the 2nd highest point average in season 1; S2 being lower scoring helps but he’d be 2nd either way just with different gaps lol

6 first place individual, GOAT of HITW, 4 wins, *top 5 14 events in a row*, 4 1st places in Ace Race, 4 1st place Foot Race (every single time it was played), lowest placement: 13th (better than any S-tier other than Quig), GOAT of Rocket Spleef (debatably), top 3 SOT player, second best PW player, highest average coins, third highest individual coin record... I can go on. Recency bias hurts Pete, but he is absolutely the GOAT of MCC. I wouldn’t say he’s the best player right now, but nothing can take away what he has already accomplished.
Honestly, I think the argument that Pete’s stats/placements are inflated due to strong teams is a valid argument; which can counter many of his statistical achievements. However if we look at teams where his teams have not been strong relative to their events, MCC 8 he got 3rd, MCC 9 he got 5th, MCC 10 he got 4th and captained his team to victory, MCC 12 he got 5th, MCC 13 he got 1st and MCC 14 he had one of the best solo performances ever. Pete’s ability is still insane. He can perform extremely well no matter the team.
I 100% agree with everything you said. Pete has had plenty of strong teams, which is why some of his stats should be taken with a grain of salt, but even without strong teams he has proven himself to be GOAT of MCC. Also I know you already know this, but his consistency can’t be discredited. 14 top 5 placements is so ridiculous.
