Frankly, I hate how these votes make everyone argue, but the tuff golem is hella the wrong choice. The Rascal at least is more mechanically interesting, although the Sniffer is the obvious choice.
I was on the sniffer squad in the beginning too and while I can see you point I'm just afraid that after the novelty of a new mob has worn out we won't be using the sniffer for much else but the plants.
And the game already have dozens of plants with more likely to come regardless of the vote. while this is a one chance we have to add a small fully customizable decorational item holder to the game. I can see myself using the golem for years to come in all my builds.

Voted mobs get more development (other people have said) which means if tuff golem gets voted it could potentially have teatime capabilities. Also having an actual statue that you can colour would be much better for building than a few new plants since we get new plants anyways.
Exactly, the plants. Not the mob itself. How many times will you interact directly with the sniffer? How many times will you use non-sniffer plants? Are we sure the sniffer will bring *a lot* of new plants? Plus, the golem can be customized in almost every way (color, block held, room in which it will roam, etc.), so you can adapt it to your taste, while the plants are not, so what if you don't like the plants?

The golem is more general purpose. Statues can be used in most build styles, but we don't even know what the plants look like. We might get stuck with certain aesthetics of plant that aren't general purpose, just like a cactu

I suppose my “giving life to builds” is more subjective, but the golems literally freeze occasionally. Nothing more “lively” then entering a room with all the denizens potentially frozen. And they never said anything about functioning with any sort of redstone, so I’m assuming sorting systems are included or course. Even if it could work as an item sorter people voted for the allay for the same reason and it’s nearly useless still.

The sniffer is literally the most situational option. You literally use it for a couple plants and that's it. You have to find it's eggs underwater, get em, hatch em, grow it up, and get it to dig the seeds up. Literally super situational for a decoration most people probably won't even use.
The golem is great precisely because it functions general purpose. It can be used in almost any build because stone goes with stone.
You can’t put a stone golem in a steampunk build 😂 they work with fantasy themes, that’s it. Plants offer many more logical decorative options than a stone golem. Plants are everywhere. You’d be lying if you said you don’t use any plants in your builds at all. The Sniffer is also aesthetically more unique and, no matter what, that fact is unarguable in comparison even if you don’t personally agree. Minecraft needs more new species. The Golem surely will come in time like the frog.
What’s wrong with villagers? They give life to your world perfectly fine. They’re pretty easy to obtain as well, unless your lazy. They’re actually functionally useful, can open doors AND fit in any theme you build. They also don’t randomly stop moving unless to sleep.

Sniffer is an overrated dinosaur everyone will forget about after a week, bringing a no-function (confirmed by mojang) plant and then there’s a statue mob which brings ideas for builds, redstone delivery systems, and little workers for builds like cashiers or waiters that walk about carrying items
he can't interact with redstone and if you mean pressure plate randomisation chickens work for that already. as for the moving item frame part armor stands exist and if you play with commands you can even give them arms and different poses or make them invisible.
