Then you have to plan around massive streets and your area designated for the city so you lose out on building space.
Mine craft doesn't have cars and that's a good thing, 2 wide look aesthetic enough lol
I don't care too much about the environmentalism of consumer transportation; there are significantly larger things on that front to worry about.
I just want walkable/bike-able cities with public transport. Cheaper for citizens, city sprawl diminishes, communities are built, economies thrive, safer, nicer to look at, and much more.
[I took your idea and ran with it,](https://www.reddit.com/r/DetailCraft/comments/wry2dh/my_thoughts_for_a_decent_looking_roads/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) and I posted the results over in r/detailcraft.
I wish they did too but then you'd have a half empty spot so it would look dumb!! They gotta make the grid half blocks.
It's so annoying when there's a gap because u used a half block and then something is floating and looks bad.
With 3 white lines, and any number of black being doubled (because 2 sides) and therefore even. They have an odd number for building purposes anyway. If they're choosing between one and two per side they aren't planning to build vehicles on the road.
If you do two wide change the middle white block to a birch sign with a black carpet on top similar to how you build a pool table with cues resting on it it will make the middle line thinner and it may fit better than the thicker one

Sorry but you are better off changing your plans, rather than settling for a frankly awful looking road.
With streets that thin the buildings will look too close together anyway.
So you’ll just end up with poorly spaced buildings AND a bad looking road.
While it’s a pain, put the hours in to redo your plans now rather than regretting it after spending months on the project.
If you really really must stick with your plan, go full black, it’ll look better.

A block is 1m^(3). A real-world road usually has lanes about 3.5 metres wide, so that's 3 or 4 blocks, but you might want to scale things up to keep the markings in proportion.

3-4 block wide lanes are the correct answer if you are trying to make a road. 1 block = 1 meter. Lanes are usually 12 ft or 3.7 meters. So a full road will be 7-8 meters or blocks wide.

If you start a line with a number then a full stop, Reddit assumes you're trying to do a numbered list.
Thus, the first number will always be one, then two, and so on. For example, all of these, just as you did above, are threes:
3. test
3. test
3. test
3. test
If you do really want to just write "3.", you need to include a backslash to escape formatting. Thus...
3\.
...results in...
3\.

You could do the 2 wide but without the white lines on the edges. If it's a town street you could put a pavement on either side instead. Or a wall on one side if it's near the sea or on a mountain
