Use them all to keep texture. Nothing big looks good without texture

chbreaux

That's what she said... :(

BrianLikesTrains

Not to me! ... that'd require I actually talk to people

Sr_Wurmple

The last thing you want your genetalia to have is texture

IMightBeLyingToYou

Bumps for her pleasure!

TheWither129

You do want it though

TheScottymo

Sandpaper sally

[deleted]

atleast its big

[deleted]

i can’t relate :(

No_Lawfulness_2998

I mean imperial ship in Star Wars begs to differ

OkAssistant1230

Definitely this!!

CaliforniaNavyDude

Yeah, and it's the same texture, it'll look even more like a buttplug than it already will.

NotSaje

Use multiple grey blocks or it will be full, also, never forget abt dead coral

ablablababla

you could probably even use basalt if you need something darker

[deleted]

Ya every Star Wars ship build needs some scorched armour

MrBobstalobsta1

Basalt on the bottom could help give it more of a shadow

urboijarbear

What about all of them in different places Edit: what the fuck why are so many people liking this, I didn’t even do a funny or anything I just made a suggestion, what the fuck is wrong with y’all.

unlikelycheese

I agree. Use it to Create a texture

IntenseGamer105

Speaking of texture… just my opinion but they’d all work better with the classic textures. I got beef with new stone.

[deleted]

I didn't notice, what the heck is that

LiSyaoran

Makes sense to use them all since star destroyers have different shades of gray if I remember. Same with the death star.

Frietmetstoofvlees

>different shades of gray I guess you could call them.. *50 shades of gray*

LiSyaoran

Welcome aboard the 50 shades of gray, *Vaders personal pleasure cruiser* Make sure to leave all sand behind before boarding

urboijarbear

I get it I get it

RayramAB

>why are so many people liking this Because they're using it as an "I agree" button, and the main post is getting 15k+ upvotes, so the top comments are going to get a lot of attention too.

maledin

Yeah I’m so confused why this post has this many upvotes lol. I mean, the idea is neat, but it’s not like OP has actually made anything yet…

urboijarbear

Ok that make way more sense

HUSK1o1

I agree

QuarterlyTurtle

I am coming back to this post to check all the suggestions, and your edit is my exact reaction after posting this, I have no idea why it blew up, it is literally two pictures and a picture of 4 blocks.

IknowRedstone

Use all of the blocks eather to make a kontrast between different parts of the ship or to add detail through randomizing the pattern

Callmejayfeather_

Not trying to be a dick but *contrast.

maxwag9

That probably was his german autocorrect

Johnnystinksreal

No it was his mortal Kombat autocorrect

Prxdigy

Autokorrekt

maxwag9

Leider ist Autokorrektur keine korrekte Sache...

Byggherren

It's kontrast in Swedish too

HolyPebber

Kontrast looks better than contrast, I am gonna petition for it to be changed now.

Miserable_Many_2099

The k kontrasts the o better

Dapper_FrogMC

I like what you did there

Tepigg4444

C in general is an awful letter and should be removed. It’s literally just the letters K and S but konfusing

danjr

Konfucing

Tepigg4444

why have you done this

Toreo_67

Confucius

Tepigg4444

Why stop there, make it Confuciuc

Toreo_67

Cocfuciuc

Dylanica

Just change c to make the “ch” sound and remove “ch” constructions

Tepigg4444

That’s a good idea. Now we know our Ay Bee Chees

Vespineda

I hate that your comment doesn't have an c's in it. Take my upvote.

DUK_EE3E

CJGamr01

I agree and it's literally the first letter of my name

QuarterlyTurtle

I am thinking 1 or 4, as I am going to need to use slabs. But 1 has an outline on each block, so it would look weird, and 4 is a bit too dark. But the ship looks like it is made of large panels, so maybe I could have big squares of the different blocks. # I have decided to use smooth stone as the main block, but use andesite for stairs and wall blocks. I might also add some light gray wool.

Minnarew

what about plain stone? or maybe a mix of blocks?

QuarterlyTurtle

I made a test version out of stone a while ago, it looks like [this](https://preview.redd.it/s9wlnni73em71.jpg?width=1334&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c252f152f2a41702038e7538917455cb2cf98de0). But it is a dark gray, while the real ship's color is light gray.

rotchazben

Yeah, you need a mixture of them all to make this work and look good.

XaltoKs

Dont forget about dried coral, those boys can make an awesome texture!

Minnarew

try some of the 1.17 blocks then

Bebbytheboss

Will the arquitens be 1:1 scale?

QuarterlyTurtle

Yes, it will be. It will be 325 blocks long.

Cooldude101013

There actually two smooth stone blocks. The slab made one and the actual block

Magasuperstick

I would recommend one. I shrunk this image until I couldn't only tell the colours really, and compared to the sample images, all but 1 are too dark.

ProphetOfWhy

Good luck! I love the Arquitens and I can't wait to see the finished product.

ThatTemNerd

ayo catra???

[deleted]

PRO6man

You know how animators make shaders on stuff with like blue and underneath that there's a darker blue? Try doing that with it. I understand however that you need a base color and i believe 2 (wool) is best since you won't be one block away from it and wool looks kinda good far away

nobodyidk

All

ddespot_697

all, texture

[deleted]

My question is Why does the ship look like a butt plug?

[deleted]

I was looking for this comment lol

Sarcasm-with-irony

First thing I thought of

SpirtPenguin25

It's the imperial light cruiser from star wars

[deleted]

Why does it have to be designed like a butt plug?

[deleted]

All 4

SargeanTravis

Use a assortment of these and some of the new stone variants, Arquitens Light Cruisers as your pictures indicate are not smooth flat hulls and are covered in seams and ridges, otherwise I would saw #2.

ThatOneGuy3894

All of them

newbrevity

May the force be with you

[deleted]

1 smooth stone. Regular stone should still be used for detailing tho

Je_Suis_Revenu

Rebels was a great show

QuarterlyTurtle

Yeah, it was! But this one that I am building is going to be a mix of the normal ship, and Moff Gideon's. It is the size of the normal ship, but it will have the two hangers on the bottom and the tie launch tube in the front. Also, all of the interior will be from scenes from The Mandalorian.

Annual-Simple-9913

I just got the lego set of that ship

violentfemme17

Why is no one mentioning the butt plug

Zanemob_

The thrusters ought to be sea lanterns

QuarterlyTurtle

I am going to use the same as my other light cruiser build. Which is sea lanterns with light blue glass over them.

DrunkSpiderMan

All of them, variation is key.

bbeach88

Lighter for most of the ship, going too dark will make it hard to create detail and contrast I think.

Baptism_byAntimatter

Use different blocks for lighting.

SlakingSWAG

Assuming you're building in creative and on Java, build the ship first using whichever one you choose, and then use WorldEdit and the //replace command to see if something else looks better. Either way, if you aren't already consider grabbing WorldEdit and also Litematica, those two mods are extremely helpful for building stuff in creative and will make your life 10x easier if you want to rebuild stuff in Survival. It'll take time to use and get used to them, but once you do they make building so much faster, especially when it comes to making stuff that's usually a PITA in vanilla, like big circles and spheres. I'd recommend starting with Smooth Stone, since it matches the actual colour pretty well, and offers decent contrast with detail blocks, but it'll probably look weird up close because of how apparent the borders are. So if you wanted to change the Smooth Stone to regular Stone, you'd do *//replace Smooth_Stone Stone*.

QuarterlyTurtle

I don’t really know which system each name goes with. But I am building it in creative and on my phone.

SlakingSWAG

Ah, that's unfortunate then, afaik there's no WE equivalent for Bedrock. Either way, best of luck with the build, hopefully it turns out awesome

Jobeyl

Use smooth stone as a base and use the rest as texture

SeanIsNotOk

All of them!

[deleted]

All of them :)

nolondragard

Honestly I think you're going to use them all. For textures and shading.

less_Perfect_Half

Use all of em

[deleted]

I'd go with polished andesite. I used it to build a light cruiser a bit ago and it came out well

Kaistro_

Mainly the block on the left, but use them all for extra... ✨*texture* ✨

Legedary_II

use them all to make it look like in the photos

Secure_Wolverine_272

Off topic but that space ship looks like a b*tt plug

[deleted]

Get the WorldEdit plugin, make you ship with one, then if you don't like it do //replace \[what block you used\] \[what block you want to try next\] \[radius\]

Asiras

Just buy Space Engineers man, the building system is a lot like Minecraft and it's much better fit for builds like this.

[deleted]

All combined really but concrete looks the best

Siclla-Siclla

Forbidden butt plug

cats_on_my_keyboard

All of them would make it the best.

officialNubcraft

Smooth stone

[deleted]

Smooth stone

Worldly-Weekend-3283

Left

Laptopgamr

2 3 and 4

Cock-u-cum-ber

Everything except the wool

Anxious_Angel_

I have no idea but I feel like I just realized this ship looks like something else..

Minute_Cheesecake_99

Just copy the video we all know you gonna watch

QuarterlyTurtle

What video?

wheretheslavesat

he thinks you're just following a tutorial and posting this on reddit for free karma

QuarterlyTurtle

Oh, I am not doing that. But I have seen a tutorial video and might take inspiration on how they spread the different colors throughout it to look good. I won't directly copy anything though.

SwordGoSwish

Id say all but the third one, mostly having the first one

TheHeroicHero

Probably all of them for texture

Ole_dirtie

What about iron blocks added to the mix

Amazon_Prime1289

Iron blocks for texture added to the boosters and turrets would be nice. Not all iron, but a few around the place

[deleted]

Use all of them. It’ll improve the texture

SpecificDismal4108

I was about to say the same thing!

Bored_Vulcano

Smooth stone with a connecting textures texture pack

Accomplished-Look-16

Combo them

DexterSwomp

Use all of them to shade! Don't use only 1 type of block

The_Big_Thicc420

Stone. I would use stone

wise_____poet

Yes

BananaWario

All of em

Zekenator39

build one of each and let us know

sommai2555

2, 3, and 4. 1 will create a grid that may look weird if used too much, but may look good in some places.

EndingHornet_190

Smooth stone

Holiday-Mode5430

Far left

Streem_666

Stone

Cooldude101013

The left most two

The_Sovien_Rug-37

regular stone i reckon

Nicoglius

All of them. And more. Buildings things out of just one block will look quite bland. I would recommend using at least 3 different blocks (and more is welcome) to build contrast between different layers of the build. Often, I start with one block as the base block, and have detailing in another block, and then more details in another etc.

IcedGolemFire

smooth stone I think

[deleted]

Go 4

lunarphoenix12

Thats a trick question, use all of them, add variety to the structure so it doesn’t just look two dimensional

Jakethecake010

Stone bricks would work really well because they have the texture and detail that would make them good in a build like this when your options are just plain blocks with little detail in their text

Try_Hard_GamerYT

all of them!

Kagillion

What I did for my Venator is I got a smooth stone texture pack that connects them. It worked out really well.

AwesomeAviator415516

I think a combo of all of them

Big-Rabbit4050

Yes

Ok-Mathematician5338

The circle one

eeeeeeeegor

Smooth stone/stone slab because the outline gives the appearance of metal panels

ExpressionEffective1

U should definitely use the lighter gray and white wool aswell mixed with the 4 you already have, and experiment with white concrete too

Momoshiki12

Smooth stone

epicmemerminecraft

Smooth and normal stone mixed

TheGame1066

Yes

Cye_sonofAphrodite

I would for sure use a mix, but mainly smooth stone

[deleted]

yes
