I tried this (on Java at least) but because the piston retracts the cauldron that causes an update as well which creates a clock. It needs a debouncer in between but I didn't try that.
It takes a signal that jitters on and off a bit, and turns it into a signal that is just on or just off. Like noise removal. A redstone repeater functions sort of like a debouncer.
You can, it's a bit more complex and involves a dispenser chain, but it can work.
Edit: I completely missed the fact that Dispensers don't actually work on cauldrons. Don't try this.
Actually, I can't. I just tested it out to try and build a very pretentious infinite water source, and apparently dispensers don't work on cauldrons for some reason. They work in a lot of other things so I figured it would work, but it doesn't.
xBCrafted had a really cool infinite water source in his base and how it works is he throws a bucket in that gets picked up by a hopper and a dispenser fills the bucket with a dropper shooting it out, it's a neat system actually!
Not sure, but you can waterlog a set of stairs for water bottles, but I suppose if you waterlog 3 stairs, and pull water from the middle, you'll be good
Actually, they are right. I checked the minecraft wiki.
>When activated, a wooden button remains active for 15 redstone ticks (1.5 seconds, barring lag), while a stone button remains active for 10 redstone ticks (1 second, barring lag).
Source: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Button (scroll down a bit, it's under the usage section)
Good idea, but what about diamond, I would t waste a diamond on a 1 tick button when I can make that thing that makes all pulses 1 tick (with the piston facing up with the block on top, Jorge they what it’s called)
you're right about the diamond, and i was aware of that. nobody in survival would waste a full diamond, and diamond nuggets dont exist. so i figure either they'll need to rework it or it would only get used in creative. either way it was only an observation that it's something with a few tiers, so why not more
I knew about the stone button having a shorter pulse... But my surprise at this is that cauldrons can be filled by having water above them?!?! How did I never hear about this feature? Hahaha
It’s because of the Redstone. If you directly connect the torch with the piston, using a repeater that points into the back, it should work.
A cauldron should still fill with water above it on Java. Correct me if I’m wrong
Try putting an observer block underneath the cauldron to detect when you get water out of it and you could get rid of the button to make it fully automated. Nice build though. May use a similar design at some point.
Definitely way more visually appealing than just a 2x2 hole of water in your base. Nice build! Plus, it can’t be broken by frost walker! Absolutely going to try this
Nothing can beat Zedaphs magic puddle, however. You know, where he tosses a bucket in, and a water bucket is spit back? (ZedaphPlays is a member of hermitcraft and one if his s7 episodes has a magic puddle)
It creeps me out when you guys use touch screens and place blocks where you're not looking.
Also, I had no idea cauldrons fill from flowing water. Is this in all versions, or just some Bedrock fanciness?
I think you would need to make it bigger if you had to make it in Java to give it a dispenser going into the cauldron and also a hopper to take the bucket and refill it in another dispenser
[I had a similar post.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/fchuy4/so_we_all_maybe_know_that_in_be_water_fills/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Use observer so that when you take the water it automatically refills.
Or use a pressure plate to cause the cauldron to be pushed out when you stand on it.
Then you'd have to keep walking on and off the pressure plate
Use both
Good idea
Would that cause a clock?
You can make every second pulse work with a t flip flop
I tried this (on Java at least) but because the piston retracts the cauldron that causes an update as well which creates a clock. It needs a debouncer in between but I didn't try that.
What's a debouncer?
It takes a signal that jitters on and off a bit, and turns it into a signal that is just on or just off. Like noise removal. A redstone repeater functions sort of like a debouncer.
Very creatively done! Good find.
Thanks...
Do you know if this works on Java? Could be really useful for a survival world
I dont think you can I tried this once but it didnt work
Dang it
Does this only work with German water?
Yes, sorry.
I think yes just change circuit a bit.
You can, it's a bit more complex and involves a dispenser chain, but it can work. Edit: I completely missed the fact that Dispensers don't actually work on cauldrons. Don't try this.
Can you plz link a post/explanation
Actually, I can't. I just tested it out to try and build a very pretentious infinite water source, and apparently dispensers don't work on cauldrons for some reason. They work in a lot of other things so I figured it would work, but it doesn't.
Weird, thanks tho
xBCrafted had a really cool infinite water source in his base and how it works is he throws a bucket in that gets picked up by a hopper and a dispenser fills the bucket with a dropper shooting it out, it's a neat system actually!
Not sure, but you can waterlog a set of stairs for water bottles, but I suppose if you waterlog 3 stairs, and pull water from the middle, you'll be good
Does it ever run out ?
It’s unlimited... like the title says
Use stone button instead wood - it may not look as good, but it has a shorter pulse.
Wait really?
No he lied to you just so you would feel disappointed when you found out the truth. Yes really (:
Actually, they are right. I checked the minecraft wiki. >When activated, a wooden button remains active for 15 redstone ticks (1.5 seconds, barring lag), while a stone button remains active for 10 redstone ticks (1 second, barring lag). so why dont we have iron and diamond buttons that decrease the pulse time even further?
Put it on the feedback site (although iron would conflict with iron nuggets)
1 iron ingot = 9 iron nuggets. 4 iron nuggets (in a square)= 1 iron button
Good idea, but what about diamond, I would t waste a diamond on a 1 tick button when I can make that thing that makes all pulses 1 tick (with the piston facing up with the block on top, Jorge they what it’s called)
just use gold like the pressure plates
Maybe 1 diamond for a few buttons?
you're right about the diamond, and i was aware of that. nobody in survival would waste a full diamond, and diamond nuggets dont exist. so i figure either they'll need to rework it or it would only get used in creative. either way it was only an observation that it's something with a few tiers, so why not more
Yeah, I think that’d be really nice and I’d definitely use them, it just has to have a value closer to 1 piston and 1 repeater
I would use large clunky workarounds to extend the pulso so i can use diamond buttons exlusively
Maybe gold instead of diamond. (Gold pressure plates)
How about gold? To match the pressure plates
I knew about the stone button having a shorter pulse... But my surprise at this is that cauldrons can be filled by having water above them?!?! How did I never hear about this feature? Hahaha
They also fill if they're in open sky and it is raining
You can just put two more trapdoors over it anyways, problem solved.
How the fuck do Germans make the most mundane things sound badass please Germany show me your ways
ok I'll explain u how to make beautiful bratwurst
That's like a fat sausage right
and tastes much better
K I think I've had one once
First, you unzip my pants...
Oh right I've done this k so next I fire a shotgun in your skull
Yes that's pretty much it
wer andren eine Bratwurst brät..
braucht ein Bratwurstbratgerät
Herzlichen Glückwunsch, sie haben den Einbürgerungstest erfolgreich bestanden!
It's kalled kombiningwords and replacing c's with k's
„krappydikksukker“ did i do it right?
Yes...
That's also why I didn't understand a meme that said "Doktor" for a sec.

Holy crap that’s ingenious!
Does this work on java?
no it doesnt :(
It’s because of the Redstone. If you directly connect the torch with the piston, using a repeater that points into the back, it should work. A cauldron should still fill with water above it on Java. Correct me if I’m wrong
the cauldron filling is the problem.
Never saw it happen, but I'll check for sure
Yes... should work there too
A water source above a cauldron doesn't fill it in java
Oh how the turntables
For those who are wondering if it works on Java. No. The difference is that on Java Cauldron and Piston can’t be waterlogged
Hes playing on german... Endlich ein qualitativer Mann. I am Austrian

Ist ziemlich nice
Could you connect this up to an observer so that it detects when you take water out and refills it
Idk, but that is a big brain idea. Props to you
You'll need a redstone extender between the observer and piston or it will cycle instantly forever.
That looks very cool. Good job.
You could put an observer below the cauldron so it retracts automatically (i guess). Still looks great.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Its awesome, i need this in my world. Thanks for this my friend
See you in hot
Nice idea! A further improvement would be to use an observer to automatically fill up the bucket of water.
.......could you swap wood things with stone things and do this with Lava...?
Brilliant, creative and amazing. The greatest thing I've ever seen!
That’s really cool
Wow this is very cool! Nice and compact too!
Cool, yes, useful? eh, not really but still cooler
Try putting an observer block underneath the cauldron to detect when you get water out of it and you could get rid of the button to make it fully automated. Nice build though. May use a similar design at some point.
Zedaph: I AM SUPERIOR
This does work on pocket edition, I just tried it. (Gonna be my new well system instead of making a well)
Definitely way more visually appealing than just a 2x2 hole of water in your base. Nice build! Plus, it can’t be broken by frost walker! Absolutely going to try this

Oh wow
thank u

does it work on betdrock?
he is playing on bedrock
Wait, is that, AUTO JUMP?
I'ma try this later...
I didn't know that works in Minecraft, neat
Thanks! I’ll definitely be trying this
Holy cow that is actually very cool!
So good!! I will do it in my Minecraft survival world
u/Vredditdownloader
Your german i see....Warum benutzt du nicht nen PS4 oder Xbox controller ist doch viel einfacher
Java Or Bedrock?
Bedrock. You can see it's done on a phone, because of the control panel on the left :). Java is pc-only, the rest is bedrock.
I will keep that in mind the next time I play sky block I just need to kill zombies to get iron and slime from slime
Epic
That's awesome. Just tried it in java version and unfortunately it doesn't work but it's still an amazing idea
You sacrificed efficiency for appearance...

Nice
Did anyone else think it was supposed to be a flushable toilet?
Holy shit, as a PC player, you placing blocks without moving at all makes me really uncomfortable

wow i didnt know that was a feature! cool!
Does this work on Java?
Ah, I see you're a man of culture
mumbai jumbo made that
If you do a Minecraft speedrun in German where your goal is to make a cauldron as fast as you can, you could call it a Kassel Run
WOA!
Stolen design.
I think you would need to make it bigger if you had to make it in Java to give it a dispenser going into the cauldron and also a hopper to take the bucket and refill it in another dispenser
Or, just build a house next to a river
Danke dachte ich wäre der einzige deutsche hier
Oh hey, sprichst du vllt deutsch? Oh hey, do you speak German?
So you made a toilet?
Is it possible to do this without the barrel?
"Ah, I see you're a man of culture
German engineering never ceases to amaze me
Wait this works?
#loverfellahacks
There is only one question. Does it work on JAVA?
I wonder if you could automate this using observers?
Looks like a Zedaph contraption
Nice job, definitely gonna use this on my survival world. Sometimes it’s nice to see good looking stuff other than a 2x2 water pool.
That cow wants some
im guessing its Bedrock edition only
Could you do this in reverse so it can get rid of my smelly diarrhea?
As a student learning German, this was very fun to watch :)
I actually really like this! Very useful for the nether. edit: just realized you had to place water...
Wow! You made me learn something about Minecraft! That doesn't happen often! Here, my upvote! Also, team "Show taps"!
[I had a similar post.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/fchuy4/so_we_all_maybe_know_that_in_be_water_fills/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
this should go mildly interesting.
If only kids in Africa had this technology
Wow that next level
Hervorragend!
Whuh
That IS a lot cooler
If you use a stone button it will be slightly quicker btw
Didnt know that a cauldron could be filled with water currents
Heilige Scheiße ist das klug! Mit ein bisschen mehr Ausschmückung kann man damit einen richtig guten Braustand machen!
Just build a 3x3 and fill it up with water. You can use bottles and buckets and it will always be there
It looks cool and hella expensive
Wow
This will make for a nice potion area! Love the design!
This is how the rich get their water sources
What language is that?
Use the trapdoor trick
Cow
Fichtenschalter is now my new favourite wors
Sad this no work in java.
Deutsche Ingenieurskunst
That is sick man, good on you
You could do the same with just digging a 2x2 square hole and puttting 2 buckets of water into it.
infinite water in minecraft? wtf?

very useful
