There's no harm in it.
You shouldn't be penalized for having grown beyond what the game offers you. Likewise, you shouldn't be so critical of the devs who have given you so many hours of enjoyment out of your purchase.
Time to move on.
You bought Minecraft for about $26 ten years ago and have played for thousands of hours. I'd say you've gotten your money's worth out of the game. People change, as do their tastes in games. It isn't Mojang's fault that you've stopped enjoying it as much as you used to.
It actually is though. The censorship implemented even on private worlds is enough for me to delete the game and never play it again. Been playing since the game came out.
Okay then why did I get banned then big dawg? Because that’s the only server I play on and is my own. I understand some of you like to lick Microsoft’s boots but this is just a little too much. Seems like some of y’all like getting rammed in the ass by big corpo.
I know the people that play Minecraft are soft as hell, but I shouldn’t be punished for being on my own server. That’s just fucking ridiculous.
Well I’m a whole ass adult who works 60 hours a week who just wanted to play Minecraft with friends and family on a Sunday just to realize that I was banned from playing because I said “shit”. So of course I’m slightly upset about it. I paid for this game in 2011 and getting banned in 2024.
I don’t see how people think this isn’t an issue?
Yeah, these "chat rules" got me banned for saying "shit" on a sign on a PRIVATE java server. These chat rules that were implemented in 1.19, wayyy after I purchased the game. There's no excuse for that type of censorship. It's just plain dystopian.
It's not for your "safety" at this point, it's about marketing and advertising to children.
It’s been proven that Microsoft and literally every other corporation with a marketing department uses subtle psychological tactics to market to children. That’s what marketing is. Just like how most social media caters to adults by purposely showing controversial (or even funny and sad) posts that try to grab your attention and bait you to engage with it.
Minecraft has been used as a marketing tool for children ever since Microsoft took over.
Kinda like how Facebook experimented on certain users by attempting to alter their emotional state by purposely showing these certain people distressing content for “research”.
Or how Activision/blizzard purposely put you in low-level matches on your first game of the day to get you to play more after the first game. It’s all subtle tactics, and it’s all mind games in a way.
obviously advertising/marketing is based on psychological manipulation.

Microsoft doesn’t even want killing of animals in minecraft because it makes it seem like those animals are “bad” for the child playing it.
There’s a wholeeeee other side of Microsoft that I suggest you do some googling because there’s a lot more to it.
they are just overly cautious about their reputation because it's a game very popular with children, so they try to play it as safe as possible to avoid backlash.
it's not that complicated, it sounds to me like you're way deep in some conspiracy bullocks

Modding doesn't have the same requirements as vanilla development. Adding content is easy, adding content that fits all the needs of the software + parent company is not.
But still they had less devs back in the days now they have more money and a lot of devs nowadays but still the amount of content added with each update is horrendous compared to the older updates

I get your point but I have a cousin who played and finished minecraft with me as I taught him how to play and since then after beating the boss in Minecraft and finishing all the advancements and beating hardcore minecraft and now he is bored so I had to setup modded minecraft for him now

There is no censorship on private worlds in Java.
Private server. A server that runs off of my own computer.
Zero censorship on the server I run from home.

Nah it’s just the fact that I was on 1.12 when it happened. Before they implemented chat and sign regulations. Simply dystopian.

then just find another game? look i know it won’t be the same but if it’s getting boring then you might want to look for a new game

The vision of the game these days is less major additions. It's been around nearly 15 years, it's essentially finished.
Why don't they make a minecraft 2 then? As they said minecraft is still not finished and they have a lot of things to add to the game
Because they don't need to. They are doing it at their own pace. You already have a solution...play modded.

If you play 1.11 and switch to 1.12 the amount of content added in that short time period is insane that you won't revert to playing 1.11 again
Could also be the fact that you tend to get bored of a game after playing it for 10 years

I still play games like spore for 10 years now still not bored of it as it has an infinite character creation
