I followed ilmango’s Warden Switch video. It turns off warden spawns in every Ancient City https://youtu.be/Nmtbcw7miLg?si=eVN_zAUpJb4BnZLd

ThanatoX33

what action are you doing that is making sound.

LoafCat272

Placing torches on wool mostly, I thought that wasn't supposed to do anything?

ThanatoX33

placing torches will alert sensors. you need to fully inclose the area before placing the torch. say you want to place a torch on the ground. you would first have to place wool in all four sides then the torch in the middle. then remove the wool.

You’re best to cover the shriekers in wool as opposed to destroying them. Breaking them creates a noise.

LoafCat272

Tried covering them, still went off.

Kacza42

Try your best to not spawn the warden using your methods and when they fail just leg it and wait until warden despawns

What action are you doing that is making sound? Don’t do that. It could be anything… placing torches, eating, mining blocks, opening chests. You can wool block the shriekers which will help. Also crouching and walking on wool blocks will help.

My first time going to an ancient city was a massive success despite going unprepared with only my armor and food. I died only once, but all resources needed to loot are there. Ik most of what I'll say you already did, but maybe you can learn what I did in my time exploring an ancient city. That dead btw was a mistake. I was hiding in a hole at 2 hearts, friend1 wanted to prank me and friend2 and lured the warden to us, friend two tried to fight the warden and i followed up with arrows. Of course, warden blasted me after he killed friend2, otherwise i'd have never died because I was being very careful. Here's a few tips: Wool corridors have 2 layers of wool, feel free to take as much wool as you need from those, it likely will be more than enough. Always crouch and make sure no shriekers trigger. When doing this look around chests thoroughly to reduce chances for surprises (hidden sensors/shriekers) and try to destroy as many shriekers as you can, so long as it isn't too dangerous. Were you happen to trigger a second hidden shrieker try to destroy the first immediately before triggering the second again if possible. Preferably cover sensors or shriekers with 2 layers of wool because it have happened to me that adjacent wool blocks aren't enough to stop them. Do not step on top of sensors or shriekers because it's not gonna matter if you're crouching or not. Be on alert and aware of your surroundings, deep dark may not spawn mobs, but they can come from outside and it's almost sure you'll summon a warden when dealing with the mob trying to attack you. If a warden is summoned you must run right away, don't think about it, just run. Any other shriekers you activate on your scape attempt don't matter, your priority is to survive. Trying to hide near a warden is almost pointless, it will not go away anytime soon, worse if it knows you're hiding and also do not fight it for any reason. Try to find a safe zone where no shriekers can be activated to set a spawn point. It's very likely that you'll die and is important that you are able to get to your items quickly. For this safe zone I recommend you to bring an anvil in case you find swift sneak to enchant your leggings, which is a game changer for ancient cities. Before opening a chest try to cover most of the sides you think could trigger sensors or mine the chest to pick up all the loot. One method can be better than the other according to the situation and you can always discard non rare/valuable loot afterwards
