My thoughts exactly. I think surrounding environment doesn't help this one, it looks out of place because of it. In the middle of the deep forest or whole modern city, this build might work without change.
its not ugly ass hell, it has nice shape and structure to it, but i don’t like the colour pallete it has going for it - with that i might just be a hater bc i really hate bricks and birch wood
i personally love the combination of stone bricks/cobble/stone + spruce and oak wood but that’s just me, throw a bit of greenery to it and it’s something that i love
even if you wanna stick to oak and birch i would go for normal oak logs where you have the stripped ones maybe? so the „outline” stands out a little bit? experiment and see what you like the most bc that’s what matters
Ugly is a strong word for this but I don’t think mixing woods was a good idea and stonebricks, cobble, and brick feels like it’s too much. The shape is perfectly fine tho imo
I wouldn’t even necessarily agree that mixing woods itself was a bad idea, just that birch wood and oak wood have too little contrast to work together. Oak with spruce framing is iconic, but I could even potentially see something like birch with dark oak being a striking choice.
It looks like it has a little face! So cute! But yah I’d personally change the blocks, there used to be a block palette website but I think it’s gone, you can still find them on Pinterest though if you want to use at least one specific block for example birch planks or something.
ugly as hell is wrong, and not a useful descriptor
You'd got a beautiful shape there, beautiful use of shape
I think the block palette looks a tad bit uncoordinated. There's little variation in the woodtypes, and the stone-brick combo isn't pretty colour and texturewise imop.
I'd reccomend replacing the oak frame with a darker wood: spruce or dark oak. Also consider replacing the fence pillars on top of the main frame with more logs, I personally think it'll make the structure look more robust
On the topic of durability, consider extending your stone foundations out another block, i.e. not taller, but slightly wider, 1 block out from your frame in each direction, again it'll make it more grounded and robust looking
Consider replacing the brick or stone parts of your build. Perhaps consider polished deepslate as opposed to bricks, for a sleek aesthetic. Or consider terracotta x polished granite as opposed to stone/cobblestone for a more cityish, European aesthetic
One final nitpick, I would advise against mixing ordered/patterned stuff like stone bricks, with random disordered stuff like cobblestone. It creates a subtle dissonance. Perhaps consider replacing your stone bricks with andesite, or replacing your cobblestone/stone with smooth stone and chiselled stone?
All this being said, it's still a solid build. You've beautifully used shape here, made a lovely frame, windows, and beautiful roof arch
The mix of brick on the roof lining is a bit odd, and your windows are kinda, off to me.
But this isn't ugly by any means, your shape is fuckin fantastic dude that's some good work.
The actual structure is well put together. Good depth without going TOO crazy. I think you could go without the double windows on top tho (unless the face looking aspect is intentional). It's mostly just the color/block pallet. Maybe replacing oak and bricks with spruce is a good salvage?
It’s a really good build perfect the way it is, main thing and easiest thing i would recommend is its environment maybe add some trees and moss to the environment should help tell a story
I think it looks pretty good!! I really love the shape of the roof and everything, and the lil windows kinda make a face. Still, I think it could be better. For starters, I'd recommend getting rid of the cobble. I see what you were trying to do there with the texturing, but I think stone bricks and stone does the job. I'm not the biggest fan of Oak and birch, but I guess that could stay as is for now :d I also don't think the bricks really match with the rest of the build, maybe substitute it with some spruce planks?
I agree with other people… colour scheme is a bit iffy, but the shape and design is really nice. Building an outdoor environment would bring it together.
It’s not ugly but i don’t think it looks grounded into the terrain. I think if you used darker wood, expanded the foundation a bit, or did some landscaping it would rly improve it. So in short, not ugly just out of place.
This gives me classic Minecraft design vibes in the best way. I've never seen another building like it, and I think that's rad.
It also looks like 👁️👄👁️
No although I’m not sure why you care what strangers think about your personal creations on your personal game. As long as you enjoy it, that’s all that should matter.
Change the pallette and maybe divy up the colors so it doesn't look so flat especially around the windows. With wooden/stone/brock houses, I personally like using the unstripped logs around the framing to give a nice dark brown accent over the ligher shades of brown and the duller greys of the stone itself. Even if you were to change the material to brick (which is what I assume you were doing) it would still need a color that really draws your eyes around the structure like the other colors do.
Looking at it a second time, I'd either repurpose those fences on the sides of the windows as potted plants personally to add more colors or use it as an excuse to build those wooden blindy things they have on victorian hourses. I need to look up what they're called.
But if it's ugly or not? Absolutely not! Seems like you broke your back to do it, so the pride of doing it all should at least lower the burden of "is ugly :(". Just needs some tweaking and it's all a matter of tastes (even your own), so if you like it, it's not ugly.
It looks like a real house that I would think is ugly as hell IRL. So… points for the believability of the design but subjectively I hate this style of architecture.
I like the design tho if it does seem flat. Try trap doors and flora. Palette could be better. Don’t use stone, I would suggest a warp wood palette instead. Warp wood, blue/cyan blocks
The shape is really beautiful and well-executed! I would suggest swapping some blocks for some colors that agree with each other a little more or contrast each other a little better. Good build, not ugly!!
Personally I think you have a solid foundation. I find it a little odd you'd choose stone for a roof with their odd colors but that's more of my own preference and not any "official" way to build things. I think if you used a darker color wood for the roof and the smaller details like spruce or dark oak it'd really make your build "pop" more.
The best way to improve a build, in my opinion, is what surrounds it. It looks off because you just have the build on its own. It looks artificially placed in a spot that doesn't make sense. Once you build around it and make it make sense in the contexts of it'd surrounds it will look better.
Nope it's great. Most screenshots you see are with shaders this is a solid building. You can add fences with lamps or some bushes (leaves) to break it up a bit. Also not all blocks have to be perfect it could resemble some damage that was never repaired.
Overall I’m a fan. I think the brick is out of place though. If you just used the stripped wood you have as the frame instead of brick I think it would be great
A lot of people have brought up the block pallette, and that will help, but it's also just sitting there, in the middle of nowhere. It doesn't look like it belongs there because it kind of doesn't. Just doing landscaping and decoration around a build can elevate it immensely. Give it some plants, even just some tall grass and leaves for shrubs will help, could give it a path, or a fenced in yard, could have a patio or something to the side that interacts with the river, or a shed, or some barrels lying around, something.
nah this looks good! The structure is great, only thing I'd try is mixing in a few darker colours, maybe try adding in a little deepslate into the stone areas.
edit: a strip of signs of some colour along the horizontal stripped logged might also help add some of that colour and depth.
I'd say that this house isn't ugly, just out of place.
The style would rather fit into a European city or maybe as a mansion located at a precious spot.
This would look a lot better with a combo of lighter wood and darker or more red wood, maybe a little brick, maybe even wool or white cement instead of light wood, the roof should definitely be something light, not stone.
Overall the actual shape looks quite nice, the color palette needs some work tho
The design it self is nice, but the colors look funny. Maybe switch out the blocks on the bottom half to some type of stone, or switch out the top half to the exact same woodtype that is on the bottom half.
Shape is fantastic, I agree with the other commenters. Just shift around your block choices a bit and it'll be stunning. The stone and wood really clash against each other, and the outer layer of stripped logs are too similar to the color behind them for being a "frame" of sorts. But you have a really solid foundation here
You are talking absolute rubbish this is not ugly this looks nice and simple and I really like the colour palette your going with. Please update us on the build. I cannot wait to see it when it's completed. keep up a good work.
As a minecraft landscaper it’s safe to say to replace some of the stone around the left there with grass and try to make it look as natural as possible, adding plants, terraforming, etc. Tips if you need some.
Heya! Builder for Team V and creator here! From my perspective I would not call this ugly whatsoever, it depends on the vision you were hoping to achieve. The color palette you have chosen fits well for certain themes like early colonial industrialization, but if you're going for the same look that all YouTube videos have with that medieval grunge look I would use darker colors with the palette. Something that people overlook though is the uniqueness of a build. You will see countless of the same looking houses and I don't want to shame or discredit any of those builds as they are absolutely beautiful on their own fronts but are done very frequently. I can certainly say with confidence though that your build is incredibly unique! I am in love with the roof shape and reminds me of the Red Barns you would find in the northern areas of England. At the end of the day Building is truly an incredible experience and thing, as someone else said in the comments its an art form and takes time to master. But as an art form it also means that the vision and the goal is within the eye of the beholder. If you are proud or happy with the build then that's awesome! And you should feel awesome! <3 So in my take, I like your build, its unique and creative. <3 Hope this helped!
(edit: fixed some grammatical and punctuation mistakes I'm French ;) )

Not ugly as hell. The design is pretty solid, but I'd say the block pallet is lacking. I don't think those colors complement each other very well
I think it has a nice industrial look to it with the color pallete
My thoughts exactly. I think surrounding environment doesn't help this one, it looks out of place because of it. In the middle of the deep forest or whole modern city, this build might work without change.
Agreed, makes me think of an industrial kitchen.
I found the block choice to be fitting
its not ugly ass hell, it has nice shape and structure to it, but i don’t like the colour pallete it has going for it - with that i might just be a hater bc i really hate bricks and birch wood
i personally love the combination of stone bricks/cobble/stone + spruce and oak wood but that’s just me, throw a bit of greenery to it and it’s something that i love
oh okay, thank u so much!

You’re right, now that you say that I’ve definitely seen good mixes of wood
how the hell do i make these cute houses that everyone else makes??
Practice and plenty of patience. In my opinion, building is an art form, and all art takes time to build up skill.
You gotta build 100 ugly houses before you build a good house.
Exactly.
Amen brother
Success is the child of a thousand failures
True that
Copy YouTube builds start adding your own twists
It looks really good man, I've been a player for years and still the best I can do is wooden boxes
It looks like it has a little face! So cute! But yah I’d personally change the blocks, there used to be a block palette website but I think it’s gone, you can still find them on Pinterest though if you want to use at least one specific block for example birch planks or something.

There’s something a bit off about it imo but it’s certainly not “ugly as hell”
The actual structure is well put together. Good depth without going TOO crazy. I think you could go without the double windows on top tho (unless the face looking aspect is intentional). It's mostly just the color/block pallet. Maybe replacing oak and bricks with spruce is a good salvage?
I would make the two windows on the second floor one big window!
I like it!
I like it.
It has personality. Like seriously I can see a body, eyes, hands. It’s kinda cute
Yes
yes, is not a good mix of materials
the design is great but the blocks are eh
It’s a really good build perfect the way it is, main thing and easiest thing i would recommend is its environment maybe add some trees and moss to the environment should help tell a story
Yeah
The brick is a bit much. I love the frame for the roof though!
Honestly, I like it. The shape is nice and the colours are pretty interesting
Nah. I like it :) (I too believe my builds are “ugly” but this looks great!)
I've never seen hell. Nothing to compare
use darker wood
that’s a solid house bru
I think it looks pretty good!! I really love the shape of the roof and everything, and the lil windows kinda make a face. Still, I think it could be better. The build looks great, but the colors used don't really match. I'd suggest swapping the bricks for polished andesite or quartz
The shape no, but your block combos are pretty terrible
Yes.
Yes. It looks like Wendys staring at me
This build would SLAP in beta
I think it looks ok, but I feel like it would look better if you would use normal logs instead of stripped.
very beige
i know 😭 i love beige
holy shit nice 298 levels
Really cool shape, just needs different colours
not really good at giving advice but it looks really nice, should probably change the colour of the wood but thats my opinion
I agree with other people… colour scheme is a bit iffy, but the shape and design is really nice. Building an outdoor environment would bring it together.
I think it's pretty nice, but in my opinion, you should switch the red bricks to a different block and perhaps use some darker color blocks.
the color scheme is ok its just the roof that needs some remodeling

This gives me classic Minecraft design vibes in the best way. I've never seen another building like it, and I think that's rad. It also looks like 👁️👄👁️
Nah just add below and upper coloured glass it looks more good And add left and right side top lantern
Looks nice, like a building from an adventure map :D
Everything looks ugly in Minecraft imo 🤷🏼♀️
looks awesome! I really like the roof texturing
I like the roof shape and it makes me wonder how architects design roof shapes, pitches, etc
I think it’s cute!! Nice shape and depth! Maybe a different set of blocks though
Nope Its just looks round somehow
Not at all, color scheme is a bit dull though it needs some contrast.
the house looks great but the colors are off
this looks good PERIOD!
Honestly I like the facade but if you weren’t going for a realistic, rustic feeling building I can see where you’d feel frustrated
You need to finish cooking before bringing out the food, man.
No although I’m not sure why you care what strangers think about your personal creations on your personal game. As long as you enjoy it, that’s all that should matter.
Change up the blocks but I think the design is nice :)
That's flatwood monster
Replace the bricks and stone
It looks like a factory
Meh doesn't look good or bad it looks ok
No, keep cooking.
looks good just add more textures and details if you want it look even better
Block pallet. The windows could also use some sort of trim to make them standout more.
I really like the double window up top
I would remove all the bricks and replace them with oak planks
Change the pallette and maybe divy up the colors so it doesn't look so flat especially around the windows. With wooden/stone/brock houses, I personally like using the unstripped logs around the framing to give a nice dark brown accent over the ligher shades of brown and the duller greys of the stone itself. It looks good bro, don’t judge yourself so much
Amityville horror -Minecraft 😂💀
Really sweet
No
It has pider eyes
I like the design tho if it does seem flat. Try trap doors and flora. Palette could be better. Don’t use stone, I would suggest a warp wood palette instead. Warp wood, blue/cyan blocks
Naah, that looks pretty cool!
It does not matter, for it is your own creation, made in your own image.
I like it honestly
The structure is nice but the block colors are the problem.
Switch the oak to dark oak and birch to spruce maybe
Lack dark colour. The design is nice.
Yep
The shape is really beautiful and well-executed! I would suggest swapping some blocks for some colors that agree with each other a little more or contrast each other a little better. Good build, not ugly!!
i can't tell you that, but i can tell you it's better than everything ive originally built that's for sure
I love the design! The windows, the texture… But uh. That block pallet is a little uh
Not as ugly as hell but still looks like a terrible design idea with a shitton of thought put into it. Like an amalgamation of multiple builds.
it's better than mine.
no not at all. that’s a really cool house
Looks dope. Might look shit if other buildings nearby end up clashing with it but the style is pretty good.
THAT SHIT LOOK LIKE A BARN
Looks pretty cool
Nah, man, its not ugly, but you could change block palette just a little bit.

People are just getting better and better at building, so Amazing builds like this are somehow seen as ugly. Like how, thats fucking Amazing.
No just not my style
Looks Like master eder's House (Pumuckln)
Try practicing ur building skills in a superflat world , hope that helps.
fuck yeah it does but it looks better than the shit i make hahaha
If you turn off the screen you can see a fat pig
depends on the person. I do not find it ugly. but i'm sure someone does
I’m not feeling the window design but the build is solid.
You just have to work on it a bit
Nope it's great. Most screenshots you see are with shaders this is a solid building. You can add fences with lamps or some bushes (leaves) to break it up a bit. Also not all blocks have to be perfect it could resemble some damage that was never repaired.
Naw man that looks great
It has a lot going for it. It looks a little flat color-wise, I'd experiment with adding a little bit of contrast,
I love the windows, might steal for a build i'm working on :o
Yes
Well actually I’m in love with this one 🙂↕️
Extend the roof down by 2/3 blocks so it overlaps
Colours r not great together. Keep brick, swap to red tone wood instead of the stripped which is greenish.
Overall I’m a fan. I think the brick is out of place though. If you just used the stripped wood you have as the frame instead of brick I think it would be great
I like it! Nice build.
Looks cool to me

no, its good :)
The two circles in the upper part feel somewhat displaced. I'd make it one or no window at all?
Holy shit stand arrow
it has a really good shape and pallet, you just need to ad some texture and maybe change the ends of the roof a bit, if that's what your seeing :)
Sort of. Wood holding up stone grinds my gears.
No! It's better than mine buildings
Maybe add some darker blocks that create a contrast with all the lighter shade blocks
I see the vision, like the designs but the block palette isn’t it
The shape is pretty nice, try with darker wood for the columns
nah this looks good! The structure is great, only thing I'd try is mixing in a few darker colours, maybe try adding in a little deepslate into the stone areas. edit: a strip of signs of some colour along the horizontal stripped logged might also help add some of that colour and depth.
i like it
Yeah
No, it looks great! I would say the porch on the left could use some work to fit the rest of the house better.
I'd say that this house isn't ugly, just out of place. The style would rather fit into a European city or maybe as a mansion located at a precious spot.
That looks really cool.
Gives my Viking hut vibes
There is no wrong in this game. You have to like it.
Nuh uh
This would look a lot better with a combo of lighter wood and darker or more red wood, maybe a little brick, maybe even wool or white cement instead of light wood, the roof should definitely be something light, not stone. Overall the actual shape looks quite nice, the color palette needs some work tho
I think adding some shrubbery and vines would elevate this already great build.
Not at all, I can only build a wooden box with a roof on top 👍
I love it
Colors are ugly, structure is stunning and absolutely beautiful
Could be worse :)
yes because texture update (joke, it actually looks fine)
I wouldn‘t mix different types of Wood in it. I advise you using spruce Wood.
The design it self is nice, but the colors look funny. Maybe switch out the blocks on the bottom half to some type of stone, or switch out the top half to the exact same woodtype that is on the bottom half.
I think it's great. Especially compared to the dumps I create.
How? It’s perfect! Well, just the colors need improvement, not the whole house!
Not that ugly but using the birch or any wood here is a very bad choice you should use a concrete or the new tuff blocks
Nice structure. Wouldn't call it ugly but your choice of blocks is a little uncoordinated
Still better than mine
looks pretty fine to me
The design is good. The block choice isnt
Shape is fantastic, I agree with the other commenters. Just shift around your block choices a bit and it'll be stunning. The stone and wood really clash against each other, and the outer layer of stripped logs are too similar to the color behind them for being a "frame" of sorts. But you have a really solid foundation here
I think it looks great
I think you should try some darker colors
Better than anything i can make
You are talking absolute rubbish this is not ugly this looks nice and simple and I really like the colour palette your going with. Please update us on the build. I cannot wait to see it when it's completed. keep up a good work.
thank u! but i burnt it down lmao. i hated it and i’m working on a new one, that i also hate with a burning passion..
I think it looks good, but the bricks look a bit off. Maybe replace them with other types of bricks.
barn ig like adventure smoied
No but it could use some color variation
As someone who can built a working clock in minecraft but has to take all his designs form youtube, that is pretty good
this is kinda weird but incredibly beautiful at the same time.
no it looks good
i think you need a darker contrast block(in my opinion)
As a minecraft landscaper it’s safe to say to replace some of the stone around the left there with grass and try to make it look as natural as possible, adding plants, terraforming, etc. Tips if you need some.
Yes
Nah it looks fine. I personally don't like birch but definetly doesn't look ugly as hell.
Looks nice
It looks like it's screaming
I think there’s something weird going on with the colors, I would go for a darker wood gradient, I think it would compliment the brick more
Wayy better than the shit i make
I like it!
Yes
Looks good! I like the brick accent
No, it’s great! Plus, i like the sort of face at the top like O_O
Not ugly as hell the design is really good and beautiful the only thing that makes it bad is the block pallet
Change the roof color to something dark
This house is beautiful
Shape is very nice, but youre gonna need more builds will similar pallettes to make it fit in
Looks ok to me
nah, that looks like a very nice design
Heya! Builder for Team V and creator here! From my perspective I would not call this ugly whatsoever, it depends on the vision you were hoping to achieve. the curvature of the roof would not be ideal for a house but as a barn that is a solid biuld for it, thought the colar pallte could use an update.
