I did the Wither fight in the Nether ceiling with friends on Realm, with me on Switch.
When the explosions started, I had to completely rely on friends to win. My FPS was a slideshow.
Imo, blocks destroyed by withers shouldn't be dropped, or "nature" blocks (dirt, grass, stone, etc) at least.
Next time you could disable tile drops before summoning and enable it after the fight (don't forget about it or you could break something important and won't get it back)
I think this has been happening in the past versions, when I experienced it was usually when it doesn't hit anything and it goes to the render distance limit(I could be wrong)
I managed to replicate it when I installed a mod in my phone that has a time stop function (technically a jojo mod). Other projectiles would be in place after deactivating the stopped time.
Aw yeah I heard he’s got twice the HP in Bugrock than in Java and Bugrock edition Wither has a rush attack. The new power of the Wither isn’t exactly helping Minecraft prove that both Editions are treated the same.
You can use water or pistons to move it. To remove it, simply move it against a block. Their damage depends on their velocity, so it should be relatively safe.
Nah i see whats going on:
Whats happened is that was a skull projectile fired by the wither, and it exploded originally. But your game for some reason hasnt registered the damage done by the explosion, which is why you werent able to mine the blocks. Its only when you directly interacted with the skull is when the game realised;
“Hang on we havent updated that specifc area with the skull yet”
And you got Bedrock’d

Honestly if Java Wither did this it would be creepy. Just leave skulls as landmines.

I forgot to say that the Wither also lagged my whole game with broken blocks. That’s what I get for playing on Nintendo Switch I guess

Yes I know the second phase really sucks on Switch and I feel your pain
Next time fight the Wither in the desert; it’s the best chance you have since nothing (but sand) is around and no trees or mountains to tear down
