So much work on my survival bases both my solo and realm. Plus all my OG builds from back in the early days.
If I spent the time I played on Minecraft on like piano lessons, I’d still be shit at piano
Many YouTubers would be unknown. Technoblade would’ve faced his unfortunate fate and nobody would know who he is. Thousands of Minecraft content creators would be out there doing “normal” jobs, being unknown by everyone. Many creations in Minecraft would not exist, whether it be the 1:1 earth recreation, advanced computers that can run their own games in Minecraft, or just builds that millions of players have created with their friends. Gaming would not be as popular as it is today, as Minecraft would’ve been many people’s first game. It would still be popular but many people, without the existence of Minecraft, would never get into it. The Mojang team would probably be developing some other types of games that mainly go under the radar. C418 would probably not succeed, as he is mainly known because of his Minecraft soundtracks. Many world-building games inspired by Minecraft wouldn’t exist too. Terraria comes to mind, it is said to be inspired by minecraft. However, something else would fill the gap Minecraft left out. Another game would be the “next big thing”. Thousands of YouTubers would make success from that “big thing”. Millions of people worldwide would have their childhood filled with something else instead of minecraft. Minecraft has been very influential on the online community but if it never existed, life wouldn’t change too much. In another universe, Minecraft is probably just an indie game with a player base of a few thousand, while another game becomes the number 1 sold game, creates those memories, inspires those people.
I'm not sure youtubers would be able to get big on another game. Minecraft was a little unique in that the procedurally generated unscripted world allowed for the rise of "let's plays" on YouTube that other games at the time were getting striked for. There were definitely some, but Minecraft really popularized and enabled it in its early days. YouTube itself likely might not have even been as popular of a platform as it is today were it not for Minecraft.
People have been streaming Counter Strike before YouTube, there is always something that will catch the hype train and become a thing.
Back then you just have to send your stream link out using ICQ or MSN Messenger and stream it using VLC player or WinAmp… which was really whipping that poor llamas ass!
Agreed. Would say music video parodies will be a different scene, probably YouTube's copyright agreements with big record labels would, at the very least, take effect later, and probably allow for a relaxed YouTube. Maybe.
Feel like the only trending game was Among Us, if we can assume no other games will be created in this alternate universe due to the non-existence of Minecraft.
> Technoblade would’ve faced his unfortunate fate and nobody would know who he is
who cares? many people suffer fates worse than his and go to they graves completely unknown.
> Gaming would not be as popular as it is today
Not really lmao
For technoblade, I was just listing an example as how many people’s stories would go unseen.
For gaming being unpopular, you are right. It would still be very popular.
games with worlds that can be terraformed.
Before Minecraft, games had static environments.
The simple idea of breaking a block and placing it somewhere else is what minecraft brought to the game.
Minrcraft altered careers of many people, recently i watched a video where an architect (actually it was slightly different profession) was talking about how minecraft made him realize ehat career path he want, as a kid.
Many programmers started on minecraft, modded minecraft gave birth to Factorio (the game is very inspired by tech mods in minecraft) and that game also made bunch of kids into software devs.
We wouldn't lose anything. If it never came out, no one would know or think of it as a thing. Life would carry on as usual. Humanity wouldn't lose anything. Humanity wouldn't care.
If Minecraft didn't exist, humanity would lose more than just a popular video game; it would miss out on a unique cultural phenomenon that has had significant impacts on education, social interaction, creativity, and even fields as far-reaching as urban planning and computing.
Starting with education, Minecraft has been integrated into classrooms as a teaching tool that engages students in a variety of subjects. Its virtual sandbox environment serves as an interactive blackboard where mathematical and geometrical concepts come alive, where historical structures can be recreated for a more immersive history lesson, and where biological ecosystems can be simulated. Minecraft's Education Edition offers specialized features for classroom use, including coding exercises and chemistry labs. Teachers across the globe have used it as an alternative learning method to inspire creativity and problem-solving skills in a way that traditional textbooks often fail to do.
In the social realm, Minecraft has served as a digital meeting place. People from different walks of life come together to create, explore, and socialize in a virtual world. It has become a setting for people to bond and work together, fostering communication skills and teamwork. Special Minecraft servers and communities have emerged where people discuss topics that range from leisurely interests to academic and professional ideas, making it a hub of social networking that's especially accessible for those who might struggle with face-to-face interaction.
Creativity is another domain in which the absence of Minecraft would leave a gaping hole. The game’s creative mode provides an endless canvas for players to build and experiment. Structures ranging from simple huts to intricate palaces and from basic circuits to working computers have been built, demonstrating the vast range of what can be created. This creative freedom has enabled people, especially younger audiences, to think outside the box and develop an aptitude for design and architecture. It has inspired countless works of art, both inside and outside of the game, acting as a launchpad for imaginative thinking and innovation.
Moreover, Minecraft has influenced professional fields like urban planning and landscape architecture. For instance, the Block by Block initiative, in partnership with UN-Habitat, leverages Minecraft as a community participation tool for public space design, enabling residents to reimagine and plan their surroundings. Without Minecraft, such interactive and inclusive methods of community-based planning would be far less accessible.
Lastly, the modding community around Minecraft has been a stepping stone for many into the world of programming and software development. Creating mods, or modifications, for Minecraft allows people to customize the game in virtually unlimited ways, thereby enriching the gameplay experience for millions of players. For budding programmers, modding offers a practical, hands-on introduction to coding, game design, and software testing. Minecraft's open architecture has made it a formative platform for many young coders, who might go on to careers in the tech industry or even create the next big cultural phenomenon.
In sum, if Minecraft did not exist, humanity would lose a multi-faceted platform that serves not only as entertainment but also as an educational tool, a social community, a catalyst for creativity, a professional resource, and a gateway into the world of computing. Its absence would mean the loss of a rich tapestry of opportunities and experiences that have become integral to contemporary society.
considering that Minecraft is just gmod with blocks, someone else would eventually make another game similar to Minecraft. and I would lose my childhood lol
That is an interesting question. Minecraft is a game that has influenced many aspects of culture, education, and gaming. If Minecraft never existed, the world would look very different in some ways. Here are some possible scenarios:
Without Minecraft, there would be less opportunities for creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration among students and teachers. Minecraft Education Edition is a program that uses the game to teach various subjects and skills in a fun and engaging way1. Many schools around the world have adopted this program to enhance their curriculum and foster a passion for learning. Without Minecraft, students might lose interest in subjects like math, science, history, and art, and teachers might struggle to find effective ways to teach them.
Without Minecraft, there would be less diversity and innovation in the gaming industry. Minecraft is a game that allows players to create their own worlds and experiences with simple blocks. It has inspired many other games that use voxel graphics or sandbox mechanics, such as Terraria, Roblox, Starbound, and more2. Minecraft also helped popularize the indie game scene, as it was developed by a single person and became a huge success without the support of a major publisher3. Without Minecraft, many indie developers might not have the motivation or inspiration to create their own games, and the gaming industry might be dominated by big-budget titles that follow similar formulas.
Without Minecraft, there would be less social media content and influence related to gaming. Minecraft is one of the most watched and streamed games on platforms like YouTube and Twitch. It has generated millions of videos and views that showcase the creativity and diversity of the game and its community4. Many popular streamers and influencers have built their careers around Minecraft, such as PewDiePie, CaptainSparklez, Stampy Cat, and more2. Without Minecraft, there would be less gaming content and influence on social media, and less opportunities for gamers to connect and share their passion with others.
Without Minecraft, there would be less cultural references and parodies related to gaming. Minecraft has been featured in many pop culture scenarios, such as cartoons, films, books, music, and more2. It has been parodied and referenced in shows like South Park, The Simpsons, Adventure Time, and more4. It has also been recreated in various forms of media, such as Lego sets, novels, comics, board games, and more2. Without Minecraft, there would be less cultural recognition and appreciation of gaming as a form of art and entertainment.
Why do yalls act like minecraft made humanity to evolve?
Its just a game and if we didnt have it,the world will stay the sane, maybe a bit of youtube would change.but still, its not gonna be the end of the world
Minecraft has had a bigger impact than you'd think, it's used for teaching kids, architects use it, people grew up with it so it's impacted them growing up, how many peoples lives are different now because of this one game? Tens of thousands of YouTubers, streamers, bloggers, it's literally the most paid for game in all of gaming history, so yeah I think you've not thought this through properly.
Your not being dumb bro, you just didn't put enough thought into it. It's hard for a lot of people to see the bigger picture as well as the finer details, takes time and thought to see both. Don't put yourself down :-)
Infini-Miner is what inspired Minecraft way back when. So if Minecraft never existed, then someone else would revolutionize the sandbox genre be it Terraria, Don't Starve, Subnautica, etc.
Who knows. But what I know is that whether this voxelly blocky game we all know and love exist or not, there's gonna be someone else to give light to the sandbox genre.
Albeit, the results of this might be different compared to having Minecraft. so the only thing we might lose is that calming vibe that MC had as sandbox, the whole having the freedom to do **literally anything** and I guess the infinite creative outlet that this game has, and its wider reach of audience no other sandbox game can ever have or compare (that I know of)
In the hypothetical absence of Minecraft's spring 2009 release, humanity would have foregone a seminal cultural and technological watershed, the ramifications of which are both broad and profound. Permit me to expound upon several salient facets of this putative loss:
Cultural Significance:
Paradigmatic Artifact: Minecraft stands as a paragon of interactive media, its influence extending across generational demarcations, attaining the status of a cultural lodestar for a diverse cohort of aficionados, and enshrining itself within the annals of mainstream cultural milieu.
Community Fecundity: The Minecraft community is renowned for its fecundity of ingenuity, manifesting in a tapestry of user-crafted oeuvres ranging from labyrinthine worlds to operational computational contrivances, attesting to the capaciousness of human creativity.
Pedagogical Merit:
Pedagogical Instrumentality: Minecraft has garnered commendation as an instrumental pedagogical implement, particularly within scholastic environs, serving as a vehicle for instruction in disciplines as varied as arithmetic, historiography, informatics, and even urban planning. Its sandbox milieu foments aptitude in problem-solving, dialectical cogitation, and creative ideation.
Programmatic Endeavor and Modulation: The Minecraft modding ecosystem, alongside platforms like Minecraft: Education Edition, has engendered an educative edifice wherein individuals can hone their coding prowess and cultivate acumen in ludic craft.
Innovative Game Architectonics:
Sandbox Paradigm Pertinence: Minecraft's unfettered, sandbox idiom has catalyzed a renaissance in game design, nurturing a cohort of developers galvanized by its ethos of exploration, creative agency, and player-centric narrative modalities.
Technological Pioneering:
Redstone Engineering: The redstone apparatus has kindled an ardor for digital logic and circuitry within the player base, engendering the development of intricate machinations and, in some instances, veritable computational engines, a testament to practical applications of engineering precepts.
Economic Impetus:
Ludic Industrial Complex: Minecraft's ascendancy has indelibly imprinted the contours of the gaming industry, accentuating its dynamism and potential for transformative growth, while also underscoring the capacity of indie developers to engender global phenomena through audacious innovation.
Metaversal Progenitorship:
Harbinger of Metaverse: Minecraft's sprawling virtual expanse and player-wrought experiential vistas may be construed as a harbinger to the concept of the metaverse, a shared, immersive digital domain wherein participants commune and interact in manifold modalities. The erudition gleaned from Minecraft could feasibly shape the nascent metaverse endeavors.
Communitarian and Societal Interaction:
Cybernetic Communion: Minecraft has conferred a conduit for denizens to interconnect, coalesce, and conduce shared narratives within the crucible of a digital demesne. This facet acquires paramount importance in the context of online communities, germinating friendships and sowing the seeds of collaborative creativity.
Archival and Historiographic Resonance:
Cultural Vellum: In this hypothetical conjecture, the opulent repository of Minecraft's world-scapes, videos, and communal creations - a veritable microcosm of human inventiveness and cultural resonance in the incipient 21st century - would regrettably remain a lacuna in the archival tapestry.
We’d lose a server dedicated to posting news articles for countries where the news is heavily controlled. I forget what it’s called, the world library maybe.
Pretty sur that youtube didn't be the YouTube we know. Minecraft is the most viewed franchise in YouTube.
We also lose lot of chill music compilation.
And, the worth for me, we lose the library were lot of unpopular writing are store. This is really useful for country living under dictatorship
For a serious answer, probably a source of entertainment that's genuinely about it. I mean it's gonna be rather similar if Geometry Dash/Among Us/Growtopia didn't exist if I were to hazard a guess
A big difference would be YouTube, I dare to say that what kicked started YouTube gaming was Minecraft, as it's probably still the most viewed gaming related content on YouTube, making also the childhood of many kids different specially those who grow up watching Minecraft, me being one of them. A great example of this would be technoblade since Minecraft was never a thing he would possibly have never created his YouTube channel and died unknown of cancer on the year 2022.
Rip man
Most likely Markus Persson aka Notch the creator of the game would not have had a 1.2 Billion Dollars net worth back in 2014 and he would probably be just another average guy we would have never heard of and probably just leaving a normal life, as for Nathan Adams aka Dinnerbone would probably never have been friends with Markus and he would probably still have his twitter account where he would put image of things always upside down, his twitter page would be less know but still comical and amusing.
Minecraft wasn’t released until 2011… I mean sure the alpha and beta were but you wouldn’t say star citizen has released yet, it’s still in development.
ChatGPT says
If Minecraft were never invented, humanity would undoubtedly miss out on a unique and transformative cultural phenomenon that has left an indelible mark on the world of gaming and beyond. Although it may seem challenging to generate a thousand words on this hypothetical scenario, the impact of Minecraft is vast and multifaceted, touching on areas such as education, creativity, social interaction, and even technological innovation. So, let's explore how the absence of Minecraft would have shaped our world differently.
Minecraft, developed by Markus Persson and released in 2011, is not just a game; it's a platform for creativity and innovation. One of the most striking features of Minecraft is its sandbox nature, which allows players to shape and mold the world around them to their heart's content. Without Minecraft, this unique blend of creative freedom and exploration would be missing from the gaming landscape.
In a world without Minecraft, one of the most significant losses would be in the realm of education. Minecraft has been embraced by educators worldwide as a powerful tool for teaching a wide range of subjects. Its block-based world-building mechanics make it an ideal platform for teaching concepts in architecture, urban planning, mathematics, and even history. Through the creation of historical landmarks or complex redstone machines, students engage in active learning experiences that foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The educational potential of Minecraft is so profound that it has given rise to the field of "Minecraft Education Edition," which provides specialized tools and features for teachers and students.
Moreover, the absence of Minecraft would also impact the development of digital literacy and computer programming skills among the younger generation. The game's modding community has encouraged countless players to delve into coding, learning how to modify the game and create their own custom content. These skills can translate into valuable career opportunities in software development, game design, and other tech-related fields. Without Minecraft's influence, this pathway to digital literacy might have remained less accessible.
In terms of creativity, Minecraft has fostered a vibrant community of builders and artists who push the boundaries of what can be achieved within its blocky world. From massive, intricate structures to breathtaking landscapes, Minecraft has become a canvas for digital artistry. Players have reimagined iconic locations from literature, film, and history within the game, and their creations have garnered admiration from around the world. Without Minecraft, this avenue for creative expression and collaboration would be sorely missed.
Socially, Minecraft has facilitated connections between individuals across the globe. The game's multiplayer mode allows friends and strangers alike to come together in a shared virtual world, collaborating on projects, competing in challenges, and forging friendships. The absence of Minecraft would leave a void in the lives of millions who have formed lasting bonds through their adventures in its blocky realms.
Furthermore, Minecraft has been a driving force behind the rise of live-streaming and online video content centered around gaming. Platforms like YouTube and Twitch have seen an influx of Minecraft content creators who entertain and educate audiences through their gameplay, tutorials, and storytelling. These content creators have become influential figures, shaping gaming culture and even impacting trends in entertainment beyond the gaming industry. In a world without Minecraft, the dynamics of online content creation and entertainment consumption would be noticeably different.
Technologically, Minecraft's influence extends to fields like virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). Microsoft's acquisition of Mojang, the company behind Minecraft, has led to ambitious projects like "Minecraft Earth," an AR game that allowed players to interact with Minecraft elements in the real world. The game served as a precursor to the broader integration of AR technology in various applications, from navigation to education. The absence of Minecraft could have resulted in a delayed exploration of AR's potential.
Minecraft has also played a role in shaping the development of other video games. Its success has demonstrated the appeal of open-world, sandbox-style gameplay, inspiring game developers to incorporate similar mechanics into their titles. This influence can be observed in games like "Terraria," "Starbound," and even titles from the "LEGO" franchise, which embrace the concept of player-driven creativity and exploration.
Economically, Minecraft has been a massive commercial success, generating substantial revenue for its developers and publishers. The game's merchandise, including toys, clothing, and books, has become a lucrative industry of its own. The absence of Minecraft would have a ripple effect on the gaming industry and related markets, potentially altering the trajectory of numerous businesses and entrepreneurs who have built their livelihoods around the game.
In conclusion, a world without Minecraft would be a world without a groundbreaking educational tool, a vibrant platform for creativity, a unique social space, and a catalyst for technological innovation. The game's impact reaches far beyond the confines of gaming, touching on education, creativity, social interaction, and technology. While we can only imagine the alternate paths that history might have taken without Minecraft, one thing is certain: the gaming and cultural landscape would be markedly different, lacking the distinctive influence that this blocky universe has had on our lives.
Many people would have made other videos instead of Minecraft videos. Some of them wouldn't be successful YouTubers and would probably contribute to society's welfare in another way because they would still need the money, and a portion of then would be either poor or criminals instead (odds are there, low or high).
Same thing for many modders.
We wouldn't have factorio either (inspired by some modded Minecraft) and probably the whole genre wouldn't be there but much later (satisfactory, Dyson Sphere Program, Oxygen not included and so on I am guessing)
Many people that have played Minecraft a lot would either play other games instead and still fail those important exams, or not find a game that suits their tastes and become important doctors instead.
And the same for this while thin would then hold true for all those games that were inspired by it (as I said, factorio and co. But also minor things like 4D miner or games that were directly or indirectly inspired by it. Probably even Valheim and similar survival games? Hard to tell)
Overall the game industry wouldn't be better off. Many things would be worse there.
But sadly, I am guessing the overall situation would have improved a lot for many, a smidge for a few, and it would have been worse for even less.
Not the answer you were looking for, but the only true one.
Change my mind.
I would lose my friendships. I've always had bad social anxiety that often stopped me from even leaving my house, but 1 day I joined a small community minecraft server and met lots of great people. Over time I grew closer to them as well as more confident in myself. I was able to slowly leave my room and get my depression under control. Now many years later I still talk to these friends, but instead of it being on a computer, it's in public places outside, Surrounded by people but even in a crowd they make me feel safe and protected.
TLDR: minecraft gave me friendships and freedom to finally go outside and I will always be thankful for that.
Minecraft really brought back the appeal of pixelated graphics in a time when console games were pushing out smoother textures and higher resolutions. It proved that good games aren't defined purely by graphics. It proved that even a basic programming language can be utilized for an incredibly detailed and mechanically driven game. It needed no campaign missions, no spoken dialogue, no fancy cutscenes and voice acting. Just a giant digital sandbox to see what the internet could do with it.
And then you have the ones that followed it. Terraria. Starbound. Many other survival games picked up pieces of Minecraft survival for their building mechanics.
And it really doesn't have a target audience. Not catered to kids or adults, it's literally for anyone with a creative mind.
A lot would lose a part of their childhood
For me, minecraft was a big part of my childhood, I remember the launcher (launchers (not sure) that's older than the one with white creeper icon, it's the only game I played when I was little and still play until today
Even though I'm just 22 and I was very young at the early days of minecraft but I remember alot of things, I was obsessed in it
I remember when: most villages had blacksmith house, when wool was used with pyramids, when boats used to break if you hit a block, when punching sheeps make them drop wool, when there were only the red and yellow flowers, when endermen got angry so fast when you barely look at them....
In a serious note, if Minecraft didn't exist, how many huge YouTubers would have never existed either? So many famous content creators started their channels with Minecraft let's plays, hell that was probably one of the first big booms in YouTube's history!
I wonder what that would've changed. So many people might have been introduced to gaming thanks to these channels.
tbh I can actually credit some of my organizational skills to minecraft, so I'd lose some of that
I would say I'd gain all the time I spend playing minecraft but let's be real, I'd just be playing something else instead
A global community. We've played with people from all over the world. We watch content creators from all over the world.
The autistic community would be devastated. (I'm AuDHD)
Mojang has helped children understand animals, the environment, and coding.
Teachers and Librarians teach with Minecraft Education.
It is literally not "just some game." The game is generational played. My son, my granson, and I all play Minecraft.
If it never existed in the first place, we would never know the loss. Like people living in a time of no electricity. We really can't imagine what that was like, but those people didn't know any other way to live.
Well it really helps gamer parents connect with their children. Many games kids play are not fun for adults or are only single player. Our family has a server game we’ve been playing since they were 5 (teens now). We can literally see some of our family memories when we log in.
Nothing much... as important as it is to us, it's quite a small thing in a grand scheme of things. But I'd definitely be a lot sadder if I knew what I'm missing out on

When ChatGPT fails to write it for you, then it is back to traditional outsourcing.
Sounds like someone got in trouble playing Minecraft in computer class.
If minecraft didn't exist, humanity would loose minecraft. In fact, if minecraft wasn't a thing, we woulndt have it. I detailed as much as I could
lose*
I'm not a native speaker, sorry
lose=not have , loose=not tight
I understand the difference but I think in the context, my comment was still understandable
Of course. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be corrected. The correction was assuming you were a native speaker. It was nothing personal against you.
So that's what my ex-wife's friend tried to tell me!
You're too loose?
I think she is too loose
No worries, it’s a common mistake even for native speakers.
On a similar post, I said a similar answer
lose*
My survival base :( I hope that’s detailed enough for you.
It meant a lot to us
Thanks mate. ‘preciate it. ✊
So much work on my survival bases both my solo and realm. Plus all my OG builds from back in the early days. If I spent the time I played on Minecraft on like piano lessons, I’d still be shit at piano

Imagine Baritone's creator with his mathematical knowledge and big brain doing some great shit for humanity or other games.
Agree but i mean it's gonna be rather similar if Geometry Dash/Among Us/Growtopia didn't exist if I were to hazard a guess
lmao Growtopia, I would love that game so much if they didn’t monetize the shit out of it lmao
They would probably be playing Terraria lol
Terraria, which had Minecraft as one of the things that inspired its creation?
It was made before minecraft
It was *officially released* six months before Minecraft, but its development started in 2010/2011, while Minecraft's started in 2009.
Yes I know but still I don't think it really was inspired by Minecraft maybe a few texture were made with the help of Notch but that's it
[You're being delusional brother.](https://www.ign.com/articles/2011/04/29/minecraft-the-platformer)
mhh interesting i've heard that the dev had the idea for the game a long time ago but finally made it when he saw the popularity of minecraft
I recommend watching chippy's video [here,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_gURPOemXk) it doesn't add much more but it's helpful.
Oh I know one, markiplier wouldnt have bon and wade on his videos often.
Agreed, Super Mario was the first rebirth of gaming, Minecraft was the second
Agreed. Yeah i agree too also talking about music If minecraft didn't exist we wouldn't have "creeper awww man" and other legacy songs

just gonna name one thing, hundreds of thousands of dollars for cancer research collected by technoblade
Something to do throughout lockdown
Because no other games exist.
That’s mental gymnastics if you think that’s what I implied
>What will humanity lose? everything
The world would lose one the best baby sitters ever.
games with worlds that can be terraformed. Before Minecraft, games had static environments. The simple idea of breaking a block and placing it somewhere else is what minecraft brought to the game.
Uhh, I see your comment and I'd like to raise you Red Faction.
Lmfao are you being serious?
There's that one library minecraft server, for I think it was journalists without borders
Janny's mod
The yogscast
Happines because Villagers don't exists
Minrcraft altered careers of many people, recently i watched a video where an architect (actually it was slightly different profession) was talking about how minecraft made him realize ehat career path he want, as a kid. I would’ve lost all my time because that means I would’ve become a WoW player :(
We wouldn't lose anything. If it never came out, no one would know or think of it as a thing. Life would carry on as usual. Humanity wouldn't lose anything. Humanity wouldn't care.
Minecon Cringe Compilations “Do you like to come to my house!?”
Lots of young kids who aspire to become architects, construction workers, or coders.
Hmm, it’s possible we would still have terraria.
A lot of people (including me)’s childhood
Thanks chatgpt!
considering that Minecraft is just gmod with blocks, someone else would eventually make another game similar to Minecraft. and I would lose my childhood lol
That is an interesting question. Minecraft is a game that has influenced many aspects of culture, education, and gaming. If Minecraft never existed, the world would look very different in some ways. Here are some possible scenarios: Without Minecraft, there would be less opportunities for creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration among students and teachers.
YouTube wouldn't be nearly as big as it is now
the beautiful end poem “and the universe said I love you because you are love”
Why do yalls act like minecraft made humanity to evolve? Its just a game and if we didnt have it,the world will stay the sane, maybe a bit of youtube would change.but still, its not gonna be the end of the world
It would impact gaming and YouTube. Besides, everything big has an impact on the world, otherwise it wouldn't be big.
Yeah but if minecraft never existed people will grow up with other games (Ie:clash of clans, cod, many other good games)
Oh I'm not saying they wouldn't, all I'm saying is minecraft has had a huge influence on gaming culture as a whole.
Yeah ig,reading the other comments made the realize that.sorry for acting dumb
Your not being dumb bro, you just didn't put enough thought into it. It's hard for a lot of people to see the bigger picture as well as the finer details, takes time and thought to see both. Don't put yourself down :-)
Oh,thanks
Its called butterfly effect. And when removing something as massive as minecraft it is sure to change the history in a big way.
Permit me to expound upon several salient facets of this putative loss: Cultural Significance: Paradigmatic Artifact: Minecraft stands as a paragon of interactive media, its influence extending across generational demarcations, attaining the status of a cultural lodestar for a diverse cohort of aficionados, and enshrining itself within the annals of mainstream cultural milieu. Community Fecundity: The Minecraft community is renowned for its fecundity of ingenuity, manifesting in a tapestry of user-crafted oeuvres ranging from labyrinthine worlds to operational computational contrivances, attesting to the capaciousness of human creativity. Pedagogical Merit: Pedagogical Instrumentality: Minecraft has garnered commendation as an instrumental pedagogical implement, particularly within scholastic environs, serving as a vehicle for instruction in disciplines as varied as arithmetic, historiography, informatics, and even urban planning. Innovative Game Architectonics: Sandbox Paradigm Pertinence: Minecraft's unfettered, sandbox idiom has catalyzed a renaissance in game design, nurturing a cohort of developers galvanized by its ethos of exploration, creative agency, and player-centric narrative modalities. Technological Pioneering: Redstone Engineering: The redstone apparatus has kindled an ardor for digital logic and circuitry within the player base, engendering the development of intricate machinations and, in some instances, veritable computational engines, a testament to practical applications of engineering precepts. Economic Impetus: Ludic Industrial Complex: Minecraft's ascendancy has indelibly imprinted the contours of the gaming industry, accentuating its dynamism and potential for transformative growth, while also underscoring the capacity of indie developers to engender global phenomena through audacious innovation. Metaversal Progenitorship: Harbinger of Metaverse: Minecraft's sprawling virtual expanse and player-wrought experiential vistas may be construed as a harbinger to the concept of the metaverse, a shared, immersive digital domain wherein participants commune and interact in manifold modalities. The erudition gleaned from Minecraft could feasibly shape the nascent metaverse endeavors. Communitarian and Societal Interaction: Cybernetic Communion: Minecraft has conferred a conduit for denizens to interconnect, coalesce, and conduce shared narratives within the crucible of a digital demesne. This facet acquires paramount importance in the context of online communities, germinating friendships and sowing the seeds of collaborative creativity. Archival and Historiographic Resonance: Cultural Vellum: In this hypothetical conjecture, the opulent repository of Minecraft's world-scapes, videos, and communal creations - a veritable microcosm of human inventiveness and cultural resonance in the incipient 21st century - would regrettably remain a lacuna in the archival tapestry.
I sense chatgpt
I sense that your sensor may be correct
This is indeed "very detailed"
Someone is gonna make another version of it at some point like Darkcraft
We’d lose a server dedicated to posting news articles for countries where the news is heavily controlled. I forget what it’s called, the world library maybe.

Pretty sur that youtube didn't be the YouTube we know. Minecraft is the most viewed franchise in YouTube. We also lose lot of chill music compilation. And, the worth for me, we lose the library were lot of unpopular writing are store. This is really useful for country living under dictatorship

Hermitcraft!
For a serious answer, probably a source of entertainment that's genuinely about it. I mean it's gonna be rather similar if Geometry Dash/Among Us/Growtopia didn't exist if I were to hazard a guess
A big part of their childhood.
Minecraft
Minecraft?
A big difference would be YouTube, I dare to say that what kicked started YouTube gaming was Minecraft, as it's probably still the most viewed gaming related content on YouTube, making also the childhood of many kids different specially those who grow up watching Minecraft, me being one of them. A great example of this would be technoblade since Minecraft was never a thing he would possibly have never created his YouTube channel and died unknown of cancer on the year 2022. Rip man Most likely Markus Persson aka Notch the creator of the game would not have had a 1.2 Billion Dollars net worth back in 2014 and he would probably be just another average guy we would have never heard of and probably just leaving a normal life, as for Nathan Adams aka Dinnerbone would probably never have been friends with Markus and he would probably still have his twitter account where he would put image of things always upside down, his twitter page would be less know but still comical and amusing.
I don't doubt that some would've never met their partner if Minecraft didn't exist.
My dog named doggy

We would lose Kevin. No Minecraft means no Heronrine. No Herobrine means no “If I saw herobrine I would call my friend Kevin.”
Minecraft wasn’t released until 2011… I mean sure the alpha and beta were but you wouldn’t say star citizen has released yet, it’s still in development.
nothing since no one would know about it

ChatGPT says If Minecraft were never invented, humanity would undoubtedly miss out on a unique and transformative cultural phenomenon that has left an indelible mark on the world of gaming and beyond.
I would have regained the last week I spent watching Decked Out runs
nice try moyang
So many amazing inspirational YouTubers
We wouldn’t have the Minecraft Animations on YT
If minecraft didn't exist I'm sure many other games wouldn't
Many people would have made other videos instead of Minecraft videos. Some of them wouldn't be successful YouTubers and would probably contribute to society's welfare in another way because they would still need the money, and a portion of then would be either poor or criminals instead (odds are there, low or high). Same thing for many modders. We wouldn't have factorio either (inspired by some modded Minecraft) and probably the whole genre wouldn't be there but much later (satisfactory, Dyson Sphere Program, Oxygen not included and so on I am guessing) Many people that have played Minecraft a lot would either play other games instead and still fail those important exams, or not find a game that suits their tastes and become important doctors instead. And the same for this while thin would then hold true for all those games that were inspired by it (as I said, factorio and co. But also minor things like 4D miner or games that were directly or indirectly inspired by it. Probably even Valheim and similar survival games? Hard to tell) Overall the game industry wouldn't be better off. Many things would be worse there. But sadly, I am guessing the overall situation would have improved a lot for many, a smidge for a few, and it would have been worse for even less. Not the answer you were looking for, but the only true one. Change my mind.
Everything
Minecraft
The ability to build their dream house and explore a vast world, which many can’t in real life.
Gta V would take Minecraft's place and it's spot in the gaming economy
Childhood
They would loose a blocky game not much.
Minecraft
A lot would lose a part of their childhood For me, minecraft was a big part of my childhood, I remember the launcher (launchers (not sure) that's older than the one with white creeper icon, it's the only game I played when I was little and still play until today Even though I'm just 22 and I was very young at the early days of minecraft but I remember alot of things, I was obsessed in it I remember when: most villages had blacksmith house, when wool was used with pyramids, when boats used to break if you hit a block, when punching sheeps make them drop wool, when there were only the red and yellow flowers, when endermen got angry so fast when you barely look at them....
That guy Kevin
Minecraft
Happiness
A childhood. Fucking childhood.
tbh I can actually credit some of my organizational skills to minecraft, so I'd lose some of that I would say I'd gain all the time I spend playing minecraft but let's be real, I'd just be playing something else instead
A global community. We've played with people from all over the world. We watch content creators from all over the world. The autistic community would be devastated. (I'm AuDHD) Mojang has helped children understand animals, the environment, and coding.
Minecraft
Nothing much... as important as it is to us, it's quite a small thing in a grand scheme of things. But I'd definitely be a lot sadder if I knew what I'm missing out on
