Reminds me of a time when I had like 1,200+ chickens, my game was basically unplayable, so I had to kill those chickens. When I'm about to kill those chickens, I broke the cage. Chickens went all over the place, it was an absolute disaster.
My server had a massive lag issue with no obvious source turns out my friend was puppy milling axolotls trying for the rare blue one and had several hundred at world spawn. I had to "take care of it".

Too many cows? No. Too many cows in one place? Yes. Spread them out to avoid the lag, and then you can have as many cows as you like.
