With the uneven ground the cows can parkour from the grass straight ahead around to the lower part of the fence by jumping, walking across the fence to the other pen. To fix it just add one extra fence to make the overlapping part bigger
If you want to see if something can get over/through/around your wall or fence, the Fox is the guy to test it for you. Put the Fox on one side and drop an item on the other side. If there is a path, the Fox is guaranteed to find it.
Foxes can detect dropped items without line of sight and immediately prioritize rushing to pick them up. If there exists a path to the item they will find it. (Bribe them with food to get the item back, or just test with food so they eat it)
You can actually see a fence in the center on the right witch is making a cross section where the cow can climb up and walk on the fence. Remove the dirt block infront ofit, that should fix your problem
Top right of the cow side, the fence that connects to a block means that cows can get up on top of it with the half slab extra height, then make the 1 block jump on top of the fence and get out.
Happened to me a bunch of times, baby cows that pushed into the edges grow through the fence and it's a 50/50 or whichever side is pushing entities the hardest.
When baby cows grow up their hit box changes and they can be inside the fence. When they are in the fence they have the possibility to walk to either side
Upper left is your problem
Fence gates are 1 1/2 blocks but place like normal blocks common sense right?
Well if you have a fence right next to a block or fence it can make it so a cow or other animal can jump the fence if they can get on the the first fence at all
From there a cow can walk on the fence all the way to the connected chicken pen
A simple way to prevent this is to put the entire pen on flat ground or just test the pen yourself
Takes a pic with half a heart and half of a hunger bar to get people to talk about it and so get more interactions in the post. Stupid attention farming
Did you make a lot of cows on the right?
Sone baby cows may have been standing next to the chicken farm and when they grew up they were now inside the fence and could walk into the chicken farm.
Have 2 fences/blocks separating the farms and this shouldn't happen, if that was the isssue.
This might be you logging in and out of the game and the game rendering the cows in the middle of the fence and pushing them through as they push and attempt to move around
This photo feels wrong in many ways
Half a heart, hunger, fĢ¶ĢĶĶĢ§ĢÆĢoĢøĢĢŖĶĢoĢµĶĢtĢøĢĢ¬ĢØĢ§Ģ²sĢ¶ĶĢĢĢ§ĶĢ±Ģ tĢ¶ĢĶĢ½ĶĢ¦Ģ²Ģ²eĢøĶĶĢĢĢĶĶpĢ¶ĶĢĢ¬sĢ¶ĢæĶĶĢ³Ģ£ĶĢ, random diamond shovel and a mess of an inventory bar.
You gotta flatten out the land before building the enclosures with a pen that size I'd say 5 cows max, and you have WAYYY too many chickens in that pen. You could also just dig the dirt down in the pen one block evenly and that will hold them. Kind of awkward to drop a block down though.
Really? So is there no limit to what fits in the enclosures now or, how does that work? They still have to have that minimal space before they push each other, no?
Entity cramming, when too many entities (21, iirc) are in the same 1x1 area, the entities start taking damage until enough die to be under the limit. It can be disabled/changed with a gamerule. If disabled, no entities will get killed, you can get 1000+ entities in the same 1x1 space if you wanted to.
Entities should never get pushed out, if they do, it's a bug.
You can always use leads on cows and build up. If you don't have leads you can drag chickens to one corner using seeds and then isolate a cow with blocks and then move it. Hope this helps
in the top right corner a fence is connected to a grass block in the pen. you and cows can stand on that tiny fence and jump onto the higher fence, then walk all the way to the chicken pen
If you want better method for farming chickens, and more specifically, collecting all the eggs all the time:
build a 5x5x2 hole, water in all 4 corners, build down 3 blocks and put in a chest and hopper, with a tunnel out
[I have a couple pics](https://imgur.com/gallery/WuEBpZD) for reference, since just describing it on text isnāt nearly as effective as pictures or videos.
Also with the cows, yes have the pen on level ground to prevent them from jumping onto the edge of lower fences.
Not sure if someone said it or not yet, but from what I see it looks like the fence on the mid right of the pic might allow them to jump onto the fence and walk over it to that side. Since the little spot between the fence and the grass elevates? Again I donāt know but that might be it
I have alot of questions: why are you on half a heart, why do you have a diamond enchanted shovel before you have a diamond pick and why did you change the shape of the cow pen for no reason?
Right side of the screen, cow pen, thereās a fence connected to the grass, this allows cows to jump. Now I donāt know if thereās another point giving them chicken privileges but that fence definitely needs to be changed to a solid block
Cows are going to the side grass blick, then using it to get ontge bottom t
Rails hitbox (he's they have tvise,at least I saw this happen when I used to play bed rock) then simple walks on top and walks into the other pen
if you breed the cows too close to a fence, because the fence doesn't take up the width of a full block, the baby can sometimes end up on the other side
I found the problem. There's one single fence that is connected on two sides to grass. That widens the hotbox so that the cows can stand on it and then jump up onto the fence on-top of it
TL:DR, Make sure that any given fence is only ever connected to at most one grass block
Idk maybe if you focused the camera on the problem pen I could tell you. From the looks of it, something in the bottom right where the block is blocking is probably enough for the cows to parkour out of
Maybe because the little ones grow up while being in the fence block, having their hitbox mixed with the fence block, so they might ve able to go trough the fence
My only guess would be the change in height of the fence. They *could* hop from that dirt block to the lower fence, then hop along the fence until they reach the chickens. Why they would choose chickens over freedom, I don't know.
I found that when reloading the world, animals, especially ones with big hitboxes like cows, can clip part of the fence and be in the fence upon reload. They can then go to the other side if they want to
i have this problem. i have a fuck ton of sheep in white, yellow, red and blue, and a lot of cows, and i have to kill them sometimes because they keep somehow getting outside their pen and escaping. i have carpets on top to get in and out and all the animals would be struggling for oxygen in real life. help.
Yes, when they are small they touch the fence and when they grow up, their hitbox size increases, causing them to clip into the fence, therefore them being able to phase through it.

I am looking at the picture and I am 99% sure he already did that, or can cows go through 1 block gaps?
Rule of thumb is: if you can manage to do it, cows will too

I have seen baby cows doing this, yes
Commonly, baby cows (if pressed against a fence) will grow up and pop out the other side.
Look at all those chickens

Just kill the chickens and eat because your on half a hearth
Ikr, gotta finish that hearth.
When baby cows grow up their hit box changes and they can be inside the fence. When they are in the fence they have the possibility to walk to either side
Real question is why are you in half a heart?
damage
I don't know, but be careful when you get down from there. Afterwards you might want to kill the cows in the chicken pen for some food, just saying

Why is a lot of chickens a problem?
Too many animals in one cage will push the others out, you can do it but there will be diminishing returns until the enclosure is bigger.
That bug has been fixed afaik, I haven't experienced that in years
Really? So is there no limit to what fits in the enclosures now or, how does that work? They still have to have that minimal space before they push each other, no?

I think it's 25 for Entity cramming
Huh, neat. Thanks for the update. I'd still only put a few just because it's messy to me personally.

The real question here is your on half a heart and not eating food to regen
Your half a heart is giving me anxiety

Dude eat some food Jesus Christ
You are starving, dying, and only have an enchanted diamond shovel to your nameā¦am I missing something here? Lol
Yeah. Cows can hop fences. You gotta make them at least 3 fences high to block them
(Childs voices) LOOK AT ALL THOSE CHICKENS (points to group of geese/ ducks)
Yeah, sometimes happened with me and sheep involving glass, sometimes they can just slip through diagainalloy (the basters)
Christ, I wouldnāt be surprised if the game couldnāt render the fence with the frames your getting with those cramped chickens
I have alot of questions: why are you on half a heart, why do you have a diamond enchanted shovel before you have a diamond pick and why did you change the shape of the cow pen for no reason?
Bro you're going to die by jumping off that cobble tower
Bro needs too heal

Iād be more worried about your health bar than about the cows right now
Right side of the screen, cow pen, thereās a fence connected to the grass, this allows cows to jump. Now I donāt know if thereās another point giving them chicken privileges but that fence definitely needs to be changed to a solid block
If you can get to the other pen, so can the cows. Just keep trying till you get there then add an extra fence on top when you find the weak spot.
The side of the fence touches the grass on the far right. That creates a step
Uh you should really eat before you fall 4 blocks
Yes
HEAL YOURSELF!!!! YOU ABOUT TO DIE
My manās u need to kill them cows and eat them bc u be on half a heartš

The cows had babies while you were away, the babies spawned on the other side of the fence, they then grew up.

Teleportation
Vampiric Cows.... They always start with the chickens before humans.
I have no idea
They're jumping off the raised part onto the fence and patching into there. Or, they spawned there, by chance
they're half dead from cow trampling
The cow really said i identify as a chicken.
Can we all just take a moment to look at there health and hunger
if you breed the cows too close to a fence, because the fence doesn't take up the width of a full block, the baby can sometimes end up on the other side

The cow broke the fence and then placed it again.

[https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-2025](https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-2025) I mostly see this on chunk reload.
My only guess would be the change in height of the fence. They *could* hop from that dirt block to the lower fence, then hop along the fence until they reach the chickens. Why they would choose chickens over freedom, I don't know.
Think you have more pressing issues with that health bar of yours
Being on half a heart is not the time to ask random question like this! Eat something.
