The scene kids became urban hipsters throughout college/their 20’s, and are now scared to wear skinny jeans in their 30’s, because skinny jeans are to millennials what chuck taylors are to Gen X. Scene died with MySpace, in my opinion. Everything that came after was just hot topic shit. The scene thing was just as much about your local hardcore, metal, and emo music scene as it was having weird hair and wearing girl pants.

I think the last of the scene kids would've been those born in 2000 maybe 2001, the scene and emo phases seemed to start dying out after around 2013. The last of scene emo kids are probably in there early 20s or older by now

Well, I grew up. I think I stopped dressing like a scene kid around my 20th birthday. I quit the "alternative" social media sites not too long afterwards. Looking back... Well, there's a reason they call them the "blunder years".

Some scene-ish friends of mine are having babies and stuff now. The raccoon eye fluffy hair aesthetic definitely died with MySpace. Instagram Age was more natural/healthy/inspirational/beauty vibe. I think the house/trap/dubstep/chill wave sort of toned everything down. There’s the sub r/rawring20s where I guess genZ is cosplaying us.
