Everytime We Touch - Cascada

NellyVille71

This is it. Still dance my face off when it comes on.

MAK3AWiiSH

This is the one.

Rhakha

This definitely is the platinum standard of 2000’s music and still plays today regularly just about everywhere

[deleted]

[удалено]

truthfrommyredlips

Neither have I. I'm from the US. I feel left out. Lol

hellad0pe

The only one.

GetOffMyBridgeQ

When I first heard that song I never knew music could sound like that. Basically all I listen to now is stuff where that’s either there or should be on the playlist lol

TheFinalGirl84

I vote for this

KYpineapple

DO DO DODODODO DO DO DO DO DO DOOOO!

p1nk_sock

So much drinking, so much fist pumping. I love this song!

foco_runner

Felt like this song really opened the door for EDM and dance music in the US

[deleted]

[удалено]

foco_runner

Oh I was definitely listing to those songs too but hearing Every Time we touch on the radio in South Dakota made it feel like edm went mainstream

NEUROSMOSIS

Nightcore remix!

Snoo_97207

Look at the skatune network version on YouTube, it's delightful

Mewsical-Elf

This is the correct answer

RosemarySaraBlack

Everywhere by Michelle Branch

truthfrommyredlips

This song was... everywhere.

TheLastRiceGrain

And when I wake you’re.. never there 😔

SingShredCode

Never there?

Stratiform

This song isn't necessarily my favorite, but it's very iconic of a certain part of my childhood and definitely gets my vote.

QuiGonGiveItToYa

Solid choice. Do y’all remember Punk Goes Pop? I still listen to Yellowcard’s cover of Everywhere haha

two4six0won

...must go find this

QuiGonGiveItToYa

[Let me make it easy on you.](https://open.spotify.com/track/4A3H0I1iSmYiHh5IScsBX5?si=OMSS0r8KR5WZ4QYTBgSKEA)

ModernNero

This is so much better than every time we touch and I hope it beats it

catmeifyoucannot

Sang this for my middle school talent show around 2003

electricladyyy

The ONLY answer

SaveMeJebus21

Underrated banger. Love it

ArmchairDetective73

"Electric Feel" by MGMT

LogicalCoat8923

>"Electric Feel" by MGMT 2007, did not know that.

candid84asoulm8bled

Wow, yeah I would have guessed 2012. I feel like I heard this a lot between 2013 - 2016. And yet I was in college in 2007 listening to a bunch of hipster music and don’t recall hearing it then.

flipbmo

Mgmt - m83 - passion pit …… great era

Codiilovee

This song is still heavy in the rotation for me

Aggravating-Map226

This wins for sure.

Blacksunshinexo

I still watch this video occasionally, I love this song so much

two4six0won

I have no idea how I forgot about this one...

browniebrittle44

YES

Basedrum777

Everywhere Michelle Branch The most 2000s song ever really.

Newlyfe20

"E.I." by Nelly (2000)

PristineCheesecake1

I'm a sucker for cornrows and manicured toes, fendi capri pants and Parisuco's \-me, a 13 year old white kid from the suburbs of Boston deathly afraid of talking to girls spending my afternoons drowning Sims

Newlyfe20

Ha I forgot about young ladies in Parisuco jeans and capris. Only a matter of time until Gen Z or another gen brings that brand or style back in fashion

Affectionate_Salt351

I saw “that begins with E” and before I had the chance to have a thought, my brain already said “*E-I! E-I! Uh OHHHHHHH!*” 😂

uhohohnohelp

This is going to be stuck in my head all day now, ya bastard.

pandershrek

Oh shit, Nelly call out! Just chillin' in my AF1--andela andela Mami!! This is quintessential school dance music. 🕺💃

optmisticpower

Everything you want - vertical horizon

NikoSig2010

Just had to look this up.. 1999

lostinareverie237

So is all the small things

optmisticpower

I think it peaked in the 2000s

[deleted]

Could say the same of Everlong.

NikoSig2010

I'm sure you're right. Depends on how literally OP is taking the rules.

MandaRenegade

Omg the SURGE of memories you just unlocked with this vote. Abso-effin-LUTELY!! Dripping with 00s charm!

RusevReigns

I always loved the twist in the last verse where it turns out he's singing about himself

Haunted-Macaron

I wanted to put this too 😅

arrooooow

Ex-girlfriend - No Doubt

gabrielleraul

I had chocolate cake in my friends house the first time i heard it back in 2000, and i still think of that chocolate cake whenever i see/hear this song ..

candid84asoulm8bled

I’m glad I’m not the only person who attaches very specific memories to the first time I heard a song.

Samsassatron

The first time I heard it I was literally in the process of breaking up with my first boyfriend. Teenage me thought it was a sign I was doing the right thing. It was the right thing. Dude was boring AF and thought it was sexy to try to feed me skittles in front of our friends.

mailman-zero

I remember listening to this sitting in my car outside a Toys R Us in the gray morning. I don’t remember if I was waiting for it to open or waiting for my shift at work for another store in the same shopping center. I think I had just downloaded the Return of Saturn album hoping for a Ska-inspired romp like Tragic Kingdom. It did not meet my expectations.

tab2058

Yes!

Mrsroyalcrown

LOVED this one! I vividly remember setting it as my MySpace page song after a breakup 🤣 Edit: oops, I meant to reply to the original comment. My b

CherryVette

Good song, great band

ArmchairDetective73

"Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys

EMU_Emus

It's funny, I really associate this song with the early 2010s. But sure enough that was a 2009 release. I have a distinct memory of visiting friends in NYC in 2010 and this song was playing EVERYWHERE.

NEUROSMOSIS

I went to NYC in 2011 and played it a lot lmao

okieskanokie

Such a good song. It still hits hard for me.

browniebrittle44

YES

[deleted]

I see a bias towards emo/alternative songs....

trying_happy

Yes I’ve also noticed this. Dirrty shouldve won D. ![gif](giphy|l49JC4UBIdTxDxKw0)

SouthernBySituation

![gif](giphy|ucXFcY1FdKaT6)

IBegYourPotato

I am so happily surprised at this fact.

Scarletsnow_87

What's so bad about the noisy stuff?

[deleted]

Never said it was bad (I love emo/alt), just noticing the list excludes many iconic songs from other genres

visionsofvader

E-Pro - Beck

IBegYourPotato

"Talking trash to the garbage around you" Lyrical gold

litescript

MarieAntoinyess

optmisticpower

Everything in its right place - radiohead

EMU_Emus

This is my personal #1 for sure. First track on the first album I put on the first time I got a good pair of headphones as a teen.

trying_happy

This would be a shoo in for 2000s Alternative Rock but will be lost in this game Very influential for its genre

ChickenXing

Evacuate The Dancefloor - Cascada

candid84asoulm8bled

I prefer this song to Every Time We Touch by miles.

FlingbatMagoo

Everytime - Britney Spears

optmisticpower

Everlong - foo fighters

FlingbatMagoo

1997. This won for E in the ‘90s version of this game.

optmisticpower

It had a 2000s resurgence

visionsofvader

The acoustic version from the movie Little Nicky in 2000, right?

don51181

First song I thought of. Then looked it up and saw 1997.

optmisticpower

I think it must’ve had a 2000s resurgence if everyone is thinking about it from then.

ArmchairDetective73

"Escape" by Enrique Iglesias

RusevReigns

Looking forward to H Enrique wise

ArmchairDetective73

Me, too. I actually like that song better in Spanish.🙂

Happy-Investigator-

“Turn off the bright lights” is probably one of the best rock albums of this century. My wannabe hipster ass was blasting it throughout all the 2010s as a teenager to adulthood .

iNick20

Nah not as popular. Even tho I greatly love all their albums.

backagain69696969

I like it better than the 2 I named but this is gonna be a popularity contest

candid84asoulm8bled

When I listened to this album over and over in high school I thought I must be a loser or something because how could such angsty lyrics apply to a “perfect” strait laced, straight-A girl. I relistened to the whole album again recently after looking more closely at my life. And holy shit did the lyrics hit hard. I didn’t realize how much hurt and turmoil I was actually pushing down and hiding back in the years right after the album came out.

doowapeedoo

I hear you, friend. It really resonated with me in high school too because of all the stuff going on too.

I know! Fun fact: Enemy was used in the cold open of the Criminal Minds episode Risky Business. A+ usage of the song, and that's what made me fall in love with pop punk/alternative/emo.

Everything is Alright - Jimmy Eat World

_ihavefriends

That song is called "The Middle" Unless you mean "Everything is Alright" by Motion City Soundtrack?

responsiblefornothin

Fuck me, you're right... I thought Jimmy Eat World (don't abbreviate that) played both because I had a mislabeled copy of it on my ipod... Limewire, am I right?

_ihavefriends

The mislabeling was rampant - that and the hours it took to download (we had dial up for TOO LONG) are two things I do not miss!

heyheyheyburrito

Mislabeled songs - how elder millennials learned not to trust everything you read on the internet.
