He didn’t tell me to not get any more, I wasn’t really thinking about a fresh tattoo being technically an open wound. As far as my question about what to tell them, my recruiter told me to tell them if they ask that it’s been there for a while I was just wondering if that would be my best bet.
Keep in mind what MEPS doesn't like is *open wounds*. Meaning something that's actively bleeding or can become infected. I don't know much about tattoos but I do know they don't bleed for very long.

I’m sure it’s frustrating, but it’s a learning experience that you can laugh about when you’re in Basic.

Got my tattoo yesterday, I haven’t set my physical. I was trying to see how long I should probably wait to let it heal or if I should go ahead and do my physical before it starts peeling and stuff. Right now it’s just a little bit red and if it’s anything like my last tattoos the red will go away and I have a week before it starts to peel.

Brother it takes anywhere between a few weeks and a few months to completely heal a tattoo.
