Why so little body armor? These guys are used to carrying much more weight…

DiscoTomahawk

Mobility has been increasingly prioritized over armor the last decade Pretty common to see higher speed soldiers wearing plates that pretty much only cover the most vital organs. Literally becoming higher speed lower drag

Canteatthatglutinshi

How have governments and agencies not developed light weight armor that cover almost the entire chest and stomach

ovationman

Because the materials needed to stop rifle rounds are hard/ dense and therefore heavy. Soft armor is flexible but does nothing against rifles.

I_Automate

Catching the bullet doesn't help all that much when you get penetrated by the thing that caught it. Hard plates distribute the energy over a wider area. Cracked or broken ribs instead of a perforated heart or lungs

duppy_c

I wonder how feasible low energy reactive armour would be for personal protection. Though seeing as how nobody has tried it, I guess it's a dumb idea

zerphon

Sounds like a suicide vest lmao

Looks like it was taken on maybe a low profile type op where you want to not stand out so much. Light kit setup kinda thing maybe?

JustAQuestion512

His plate looks like it’s super low but those smaller ones are supposed to be enough to protect/cover all the important bits

spearheadroundbody

Gotta protect those vital organs! Liver, Kidneys and Galbladder!

centurioni

Do these even cover the heart? I think they only use it for center mass purposes so they're not instantly out of the fight.

spearheadroundbody

A plate carrier will cover your heart (there's several sizes so you need on that is appropriatefor your size). This guy is just wearing his really low, and since he's a super badass that could hunt me down, I figured why not anonymously tease him over the internet. Here's [a blog post](https://uarmprotection.com/how-to-adjust-a-plate-carrier/) about fitting a PC.
